Chapter 104 Why Did the Thomas Family's Car Appear at Global Horizons International School?

Later, a teacher at Global Horizons International School showed Elizabeth and Nolan around the place.

Global Horizons International School truly lived up to its reputation as a prestigious international school. The facilities were top-tier, and the campus was gorgeous. The teachers seemed super friendly and chill.

Before they even got there, Elizabeth had already talked to the school admin about Nolan's situation.

The admin said they could set up one-on-one teaching for Nolan. He'd have his own classroom with two teachers just for him. Elizabeth was pretty happy with that.

After the tour, Elizabeth crouched down and asked Nolan, "So, what do you think of this place?"

Nolan shrugged, "It's okay."

Elizabeth pressed, "Do you like it here?"

Nolan nodded, "Yeah."

Elizabeth continued, "Would you be cool with coming here every morning and going home in the evening? I'll drop you off and pick you up every day."

Nolan nodded again, "Yeah."

Elizabeth was over the moon.

She, in disbelief, double-checked with Nolan. "Nolan, what I mean is, you'll go to school here. Every morning, I'll bring you. You'll be here all day, and in the afternoon, I'll pick you up and take you home. In the evening, you can eat the meals Nancy cooks. Is that okay?"

Nolan calmly nodded, "Okay."

Elizabeth hugged Nolan, thrilled.

Nolan's brain worked differently from other kids. He wasn't into talking to people. Regular kindergartens, with their teachers and kids, just weren't his thing. But Elizabeth couldn't stand the thought of sending him to a special school.

The way those schools were run was something Elizabeth just couldn't accept, especially for a four-year-old like Nolan. When it came to his education, Elizabeth would prefer to keep Nolan at home rather than let him suffer in a school where he couldn't fit in. She'd take care of him for his whole life, as long as he was safe, healthy, and happy.

But if he could get a proper education, Elizabeth really wanted Nolan to go to school like other kids, make friends, and learn stuff. She didn't want him to miss out.

Nolan had turned down so many schools before that Elizabeth was almost out of hope.

She never thought Nolan would agree to stay at Global Horizons International School. She was so happy she cried, hugging Nolan.

Nolan wiped her tears with his hand. "Mom, don't be so dramatic. We're outside."

Elizabeth smiled and wiped her tears, "Sorry, Nolan. I got a bit carried away."

After sorting out Nolan's school, Elizabeth went home feeling relieved. Nancy had already finished lunch and was doing the dishes in the kitchen. She heard Elizabeth come in and asked, "Elizabeth, have you had lunch?"

Elizabeth replied, "Yeah, Mom, I ate out."

Nancy asked nervously, "How's Nolan? Is he okay with the new school?"

Elizabeth nodded, "This time, Nolan was different. He seems to like this new school. He said he'd stay there today, and I'll pick him up after school."

Nancy sat down, happy to hear the news. "That's good. It's important for him to go to school."

Elizabeth picked up a water cup from the coffee table and took a sip. "Mom, you stay home and pick up Pearl from school later. I'm going out to buy a car. Global Horizons International School is a bit far, and I'll have to pick up and drop off Nolan every day. I can't take a taxi every time."

Nancy nodded, "Yeah, you definitely need a car. It'll make things way easier for you."

Elizabeth headed out. On the way, she got a call from her divorce lawyer, Terry. "Ms. Jones, I reached out to Michael again. He knows you're back. He said if you want him to sign, you have to meet him in person. Otherwise, you can file a lawsuit, and he said he'd fight it to the end."

Elizabeth thought Michael was being really stubborn. He clearly didn't like her.

Four years ago, when Elizabeth left him and moved abroad, she missed him every quiet night and couldn't sleep.

She wanted to call him, see him. She wanted to lean into his arms and smell his familiar scent. She wanted to hear his gentle, deep, magnetic voice, even his cold, emotionless voice when he was angry.

During that time, Elizabeth was drowning in her longing for Michael.

She kept track of his news. Watching his company's stock soar, seeing him on financial interview programs, attending events, and killing it in his career.

He didn't seem to be in pain or lonely because of her sudden departure. She finally got it. Michael didn't love her at all.

To Michael, she and Margaret were no different. At least, his love for her was nowhere near her love for him. Whenever Elizabeth thought of the woman in the princess dress in the photo, she felt really sad.

She also thought maybe Michael was glad she left on her own. This way, he could keep that woman in his heart without feeling guilty.

After having Pearl and Nolan, Elizabeth poured all her love and energy into her kids. She decided she'd never fall in love with another man in this lifetime. Living with her two kids and her mom Nancy was plenty happy and joyful.

As for Michael, since he didn't love her, she wouldn't love him anymore either.

Terry was still talking on the other end. "Ms. Jones, since Michael insists on seeing you before signing the divorce papers, why not meet him? At least it would speed up the divorce process. You wouldn't have to drag it out for four years."

Elizabeth replied, "Okay, I'll think about it."

Terry couldn't help but ask, "Ms. Jones, can I ask why you want to divorce Michael? From what I know, many women want to marry him, even knowing he's married. There are still many women who want to be with him. A guy like him, so young, handsome, in great shape, and so wealthy, is always a target for women. I just don't get why you want to give him up. If you divorce him, I bet countless women will immediately throw themselves at him."

Elizabeth coldly asked, "Mr. Perez, is your curiosity part of your professional ethics as a lawyer?"

Terry quickly apologized, "Sorry, Ms. Jones. I overstepped."

"It's okay." Elizabeth hung up the phone.

It seemed that if she wanted a divorce, she'd have to meet Michael. Elizabeth rubbed her temples in frustration. She remembered the Rolls-Royce she had seen at the entrance of Global Horizons International School today.

In a fleeting moment, she saw the driver, Joshua, inside the car. It was still the same driver from the Thomas Family.

She didn't know if Joshua had seen her, nor did she know if Michael was in the car. Had he seen her and Nolan? After all, they hadn't seen each other for four years.

Even if Michael saw her on the street, he'd probably think it was just someone who looked like her and wouldn't think it was actually her.

After all, she had Nolan with her. But why was the Thomas Family's car at Global Horizons International School?
