Chapter 333 Falling from the Building

William saw Toby and stepped forward. "Is this Mr. Griffin?"

Toby nodded.

William shook his hand firmly. "Calla's in this mess because of the Thomas family. We'll take full responsibility and make sure she's taken care of."

Toby replied seriously, "Calla wants to call the cops."

William responded quickly, "No problem. I'll go with you tomorrow."

Seeing how readily William agreed, Toby didn't say anything more.

The next morning, Michael woke up in Elizabeth's bed. He opened his eyes and saw Elizabeth sleeping soundly beside him.

A smile tugged at his lips as he leaned in to plant a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Elizabeth murmured softly and turned over, continuing to sleep.

Michael smiled, got out of bed quietly, dressed, and picked up her clothes, placing them neatly on the footstool by the bed.

He carefully opened and closed the door, heading downstairs, where he bumped into Dean, who was on his way to the dining room.

Dean's eyes widened in shock. He glanced up at Elizabeth's bedroom and couldn't believe it.

"Michael? Did you just come out of Elizabeth's room? When did you get here? Did you stay the whole night?"

Michael brushed past him, unusually calm. "Yeah, we were together last night. Now, I have to go to work. Good morning. Goodbye."

Dean stood there, dumbfounded, watching him leave.

Behind him, Elizabeth came downstairs.

Dean grabbed her, noticing the obvious marks on her neck. "Elizabeth! You and Michael! You two!"

He couldn't even finish his sentence. Elizabeth ignored him and walked straight to the dining table.

The housekeeper had already prepared breakfast.

Elizabeth had an unusually good appetite. "This tastes great. Dean, aren't you hungry?"

Dean sat down, distracted. "Elizabeth, did you just get back together with him so easily?"

Elizabeth didn't look up. "What do you mean by 'get back together'?"

Dean looked puzzled. "Did you two sleep together? Isn't that getting back together?"

Elizabeth was noncommittal. "At most, we're just bed partners. How is that getting back together?"

She stopped Dean from asking more questions. "You go to the office first. I need to go to the police station."

Dean was surprised. "Why are you going to the police station? Are you in trouble? Or are you going to report something?"

Elizabeth patiently explained, "Neither. I'm just submitting my alibi to prove I wasn't at the crime scene."

Dean was worried. "What crime scene? Are you a suspect? I'll go with you. I can't let you go alone."

Elizabeth nodded. "Alright."

After breakfast, Dean drove Elizabeth to the police station and handed over a video recording to the police.

It was footage from the previous afternoon, showing the entrance to Louis's office at Harmony Health Hospital. It clearly recorded the comings and goings of people from the office.

Elizabeth hadn't left the hospital all afternoon, so she had no time to commit the crime.

Toby returned from the police station and told Calla, "It wasn't Elizabeth. She has an alibi."

Calla broke down and screamed, "Impossible! It has to be her! I saw it with my own eyes! It can't be wrong!"

Toby tried to calm her. "Maybe your hatred for her is so deep that you mistook someone else for her..."

Calla pounded the bed. "No way! I wouldn't mistake her even if she were ashes! No one else in this world hates me as much as she does! It has to be her!"

Toby was exhausted. "Calla, please, stop this, okay?"

Calla tore at her hair, looking crazed. "No! She must have played some trick to make you all protect her! It has to be that!"

Toby shook his head helplessly and stood up.

Anthony handed over a peeled apple. "Calla, have an apple. The doctor said pregnant women need more vitamins."

Calla slapped the apple away.

Anthony said nothing, giving Toby a look, and they both stepped into the hallway.

Anthony spoke, "Mr. Griffin, I'm also very upset about Calla's condition. But she's my girlfriend, and she's carrying my child. I will take good care of her. I know you're busy with your business abroad. If you can't stay, you can leave everything here to me and return to Valoria."

Toby glanced back at Calla's room, hesitating.

Anthony pulled out a check from his pocket and handed it to Toby. "Mr. Griffin, I haven't visited you since I started dating Calla. This is a small token of my appreciation. I hope you'll accept it."

Toby looked at the amount on the check, surprised.

The Thomas family had fallen on hard times in recent years, but they still had some wealth.

Anthony stepped forward and shook his hand. "Mr. Griffin, I know you're worried about Calla. Rest assured, once she safely delivers the baby, I'll take her and the child to visit you in Valoria."

Toby seemed to make a decision. "Alright, I'll book a flight back to Valoria immediately."

Anthony smiled. "I'll stay with Calla. I don't want her to be scared alone in the room."

Toby sighed. "I'm relieved to see you care so much about her."

Anthony entered the room, puzzled. "Calla? Calla, where are you?"

Toby suddenly felt a pang of anxiety. He pushed Anthony aside and rushed to the bed.

The bed was in disarray, but Calla was nowhere to be seen.

Anthony knocked on the bathroom door. "Calla? Are you in there?"

Toby pushed him aside again and slammed his shoulder into the bathroom door. He saw the scene inside and rushed forward.

Then, as if he had seen something horrifying, he slid down the wall, collapsing to the floor.

Anthony quickly looked inside and saw the bathroom window wide open, but Calla was gone.

He ran to the window and looked down, seeing a crowd gathering below.

Anthony's heart sank. He bolted out of the room, stumbling down the stairs, forgetting all about the elevator in his panic.

When he reached the scene outside, he pushed through the crowd and saw Calla lying there, disheveled, her head shattered, dead in a gruesome state.

The paramedics arrived, but seeing her condition, they shook their heads regretfully.

They were about to lift her onto a stretcher, but Anthony stopped them.

He staggered forward, lifting Calla into his arms, ignoring the blood on her face and body.

She was already dead, but her body was still warm. He forgot all her past misdeeds, remembering only the tender moments they had shared.

Back then, when no one else accepted him, only Calla embraced him.

Anthony closed his eyes, tears streaming down his face.

Their story had come to a tragic end.
