Chapter 251 Offering Yourself as Compensation

Elizabeth was about to refuse when Michael barked, "You have one hour to get here, or I'll make your life a living hell."

She hung up and trudged downstairs, her mind a mess. Too frazzled to drive, she flagged down a cab to the hospital. In the back seat, she tried to piece things together.

Calla had summoned her to the old mansion, supposedly to pick up some stuff.

But where were these items? Elizabeth hadn't seen a thing.

Clearly, it was all a setup.

If Calla had something to say, she could've just called or emailed. Why the need for a face-to-face?

Elizabeth had been to the old mansion a few times when she and Michael were still married. They'd go there for family dinners on weekends, and she'd sometimes stroll in the garden. The servants had even pointed out where the cameras were.

She remembered there were no cameras near the koi pond pavilion.

So, was Calla doing this on purpose?

Did Calla provoke her, hoping Elizabeth would push her, so the distant servants would think Elizabeth had done it?

Why would she do that? Just to make Michael hate Elizabeth?

Wasn't Calla afraid of losing the baby and the consequences?

Well, now the baby was gone.

So, Calla's gamble was huge.

What did Calla want so badly that she'd risk her unborn child?

Or did she not want the child at all, using it as a pawn?

Wasn't that Michael's child? If the baby was born, Michael would surely care for it.

After all, the child was accepted by the Thomas family, unlike Pearl and Nolan.

Calla was willing to use Elizabeth to get rid of the baby, even risking her own life.

What did that mean?

Could the baby not be Michael's?

Had Calla cheated and was carrying another man's child?

Elizabeth shivered at the thought.

She'd been played by Calla and had even helped her solve her problem!

How unfair!

That evening, Dean called Elizabeth, wanting to go home with her. No answer.

He went to her office, but it was empty.

A young girl in the secretary's office said Elizabeth had left early, looking troubled.

Dean found it odd. Elizabeth usually informed him if she left early. Why not this time? And what about her kids? Was she relying on him to handle everything?

Dean thought Elizabeth wasn't that carefree. Something must've happened!

In Aurora Bay, the only person who could whisk Elizabeth away unnoticed was Michael.

Dean called Michael, but the call didn't go through.

Neither of their phones could be reached! They must be together.

Dean called Daniel, "Daniel, where's Michael?"

Daniel replied, "Dean, why are you always so interested in Michael's whereabouts? Have you fallen for him?"

Dean snapped, "Cut the crap! He took Elizabeth again!"

Daniel asked, "Again?"

Dean said, "Yes! This isn't the first time he's taken her! I can't reach her or Michael. I think he took her!"

Daniel hesitated, "I'll check with the bodyguards at the villa."

Dean said, "Okay. I'll wait for your update."

Elizabeth had just stepped out of the car when she spotted Michael, dressed in black and looking icy, standing at the hospital entrance.

He signaled to the two men beside him, and they immediately lifted Elizabeth into the car.

Knowing resistance was pointless, she sat quietly in the back seat.

The Rolls-Royce drove out to the outskirts, into an estate, and stopped at the main building.

The driver opened the door for Michael.

Michael took a long stride out of the car and called back, "Aren't you getting out? Or do you want me to carry you?"

Elizabeth quickly got out, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings.

It seemed like another one of Michael's residences. She had no idea why he brought her here.

She asked directly, "Michael, what is this place? Why did you bring me here?"

But Michael didn't answer. He just pressed his lips together and dragged her up the steps.

The servants opened the door for them, and Elizabeth was pulled into the hall.

Michael then ordered, "Prepare dinner."

The servants replied respectfully, "Yes, Mr. Thomas."

Elizabeth and Michael walked into the dining room. She was forced into a chair.

Michael, expressionless, commanded, "Dig in."

She looked at him nervously. How could she eat in this situation?

After all, he thought she was the one who killed his child.

Was this her last meal?

She said, "Michael, can I have my phone back? My kids should be out of school, and they'll worry about me."

Michael gave her a cold look and said, "Your kids? You have the nerve to talk to me about kids? Hurry up and eat. Don't complain about being hungry later."

Elizabeth felt a chill run down her spine.

"I'm not hungry," she said.

Michael asked, "Are you sure?"

He stood up and walked to her side. His tall figure loomed over her.

Elizabeth immediately felt a heavy sense of oppression. She stood up quickly and took a step back.

"Why are you standing so close to me?" she asked.

Michael didn't say a word. He grabbed her wrist and dragged her away.

Elizabeth couldn't break free.

He dragged her into the elevator, up to the third floor, opened a room door, and pushed her inside.

Elizabeth instinctively tried to escape. She ran towards the door but was pulled back by Michael.

He kicked the door shut with a heavy thud and pinned her arm against it.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he was breathing heavily.

Elizabeth felt a chill down her spine and asked in a trembling voice, "Michael, what do you want to do?"

Michael sneered, "Elizabeth, you killed my child. Don't you think you should make it up to me?"

She looked up in horror and replied, "I didn't push Calla! She set me up! What should I make up for?"

Michael's eyes were cold. "You killed my child. So, you owe me one!"

Elizabeth's eyes widened in panic.

"How do I make it up to you?" she asked.

Michael gave an evil smile. "Good question! Let me show you how!" he said.

As soon as he finished speaking, he picked her up and carried her to the bed.

Elizabeth suddenly felt herself lifted into the air and screamed. The next moment, she was thrown heavily onto the bed.

Michael's body pressed down on her, and the soft mattress sank deeply.

Elizabeth was terrified.

"Michael, what are you going to do to me?" she asked again.

Michael replied, "As you can see, make you have a child to make it up to me."
