Chapter 183 I'm Here to Take You Home

Inside the villa, Susan turned to the guy handling the electrical circuits, "John, what's up with the power outage? This has never happened before! Even if the power goes out, the backup usually kicks in right away. Today, even that's not working. Can you check it out and fix it before Michael wakes up?"

John Dobbins grabbed his toolbox. "Don't stress, Susan. I'll check it out right now."

Susan sighed, "I can't help it. Michael's about to wake up, and without power, I can't make breakfast for him."

Just then, the security guard at the gate called Susan, "Hey Susan, there are some folks knocking at the door, saying they're here for Elizabeth."

Susan peered out from the second-floor window but couldn't see clearly. "Is it Louis?"

The security guard replied, "Yeah, it's him."

Susan said, "Tell him to wait a bit. Elizabeth's still asleep."

The security guard nodded, "Got it."

Outside the gate, the security guard stood in front of Louis. "Sorry, Mr. Cox, Elizabeth is still sleeping. Without Mr. Thomas' permission, you can't disturb her."

Louis paced back and forth, looking anxious.

Dean walked up from the side. "Is Elizabeth still not up? Why is she so sleep-deprived?"

Louis looked down, feeling awkward. But this was a secret between him and Elizabeth, so he couldn't tell Dean. He just said, "Once we get Elizabeth home, she can rest properly."

Dean said with confusion, "It's just weird. I haven't seen her at the company lately. She's been so secretive. Louis, do you know what Elizabeth's been up to?"

Louis was trying to figure out how to answer.

Dean suddenly had a lightbulb moment, his mouth dropping open. "I know! Has she been doing surgeries for someone again?"

Louis thought, 'You're pretty sharp.'

But he kept quiet.

Nolan frowned. "Louis, Dean, stop chatting. I can't wait any longer. I need to see Mom right now."

Louis said, "Nolan, there's a security system in the villa. You can't just barge in, or you might get hurt."

Nolan glanced at Dean.

Dean got the hint and gave him an "OK" gesture.

Nolan took Pearl's hand and walked to the side door of the villa.

Dean started banging on the front door, yelling, "Michael, the sun's up! Are you still sleeping? Get up! Elizabeth, where are you? Did Michael kidnap you?"

The security guard saw Dean's antics and ran over to stop him. "Sir, please don't shout. If you keep this up, Mr. Thomas will sue you for harassment."

Dean dodged the guard, cupping his hands around his mouth and kept shouting, "Michael, come out! Elizabeth, are you there? Are you okay? Don't worry, Michael won't dare do anything to you! Do you need me to call the cops?"

A few minutes later, Michael, looking annoyed, pushed open the door and came out.

Dean made a face at Michael from outside the door.

He waved cheerfully. "Morning, Michael! I'm here to see my good friend Elizabeth. I heard you took her in for the night. Sorry for the trouble."

The security guards were about to grab Dean, but Michael waved them off, and they stepped back.

Dean grinned. "See, he's inviting me in."

He strolled into the living room and shouted, "Michael, why so stingy? It's early, why don't you turn on the lights? It's pitch dark in here, how can you see anything?"

Michael looked at him coldly, while Dean gave an awkward smile.

Louis followed him into the living room and asked, "Is Elizabeth awake? Can we take her home?"

Meanwhile, by the side door of the garden, Nolan and Pearl sneaked into the villa. They made their way to the side door of the main building.

Nolan tried to push the door open, but it was locked. He was unsure how to open it when, suddenly, the door opened from the inside.

Nolan and Pearl jumped back, startled.

Eloise stood there, motioning them in. "Hurry, come in."

She pointed to the stairs. "Elizabeth is in the main bedroom on the second floor. You two go up first; I'll keep watch down here."

Nolan and Pearl exchanged glances and nodded before heading upstairs. There were many rooms on the second floor, so they split up to search.

Nolan found a larger room and pushed the door open. He walked in, turned into the inner room, and saw Elizabeth sleeping soundly on the big bed.

Nolan leaned over the bed, his eyes immediately welling up. He grabbed Elizabeth's hand, pressed his forehead against it, and whispered, "Mom, I'm here to take you home. Pearl and I miss you so much."

Elizabeth woke up groggily. She opened her eyes and saw Nolan by the bed. She helped him up and asked, "Nolan, why are you crying?"

Nolan climbed onto the bed and hugged her. "Mom, let's go home!"

Elizabeth calmed down and looked around, realizing she was in Michael's bedroom, lying on his bed. She was a bit confused. "Nolan, how did we end up here?"

Nolan wiped his tears and sniffled. "Mom, I don't know what happened last night. I heard Grandma talking to Louis on the phone, and that's how I knew you were here. So Dean and I came to find you. Louis has been looking for you all night. Pearl is here too. Mom, let's go home."

Elizabeth was shocked. "Pearl is here too?"

Nolan nodded.

Elizabeth quickly got out of bed, noticing she was still in yesterday's clothes. Nolan handed her shoes to her.

Elizabeth got ready and led Nolan out of the room. They met Pearl at the door, who looked a bit panicked.

Elizabeth led them downstairs. As soon as she appeared in the living room, Louis immediately walked up, excited. He circled Elizabeth, looking her over.

He asked worriedly, "Elizabeth, are you okay? Did Michael do anything to you? Did he hurt you? Did he force you to do anything you didn't want to do?"

Elizabeth patted his arm reassuringly. "Louis, I'm fine. I just slept."
