Chapter 510 Car Accident

As the driver pulled up to the cemetery, the sky had turned a somber gray, with thick, heavy clouds threatening to unleash a downpour at any moment.

The Rolls-Royce came to a stop at the cemetery gates. Michael grabbed the tulips he had prepared and began his slow ascent up the steps.

He reached Eloise's gravestone, placed the flowers carefully, and took out a handkerchief from his pocket to meticulously clean the stone.

After finishing, he leaned against the gravestone, closed his eyes, and whispered softly, "Eloise, I'm here to see you. I wonder how you're doing now. Even though you're not really resting here, I don't know how to find you or talk to you. I miss you, so I came here."

"I've lost almost everything now. I lost you, I lost STellar Enterprises, and I don't even have a home. The woman I called 'Mom' for years isn't my mother, and my so-called father will soon be sentenced to death. Eloise, am I destined to be alone? No lover, no children..."

As he murmured with his eyes closed, a raindrop fell on his cheek.

Michael paused. He opened his eyes and looked up at the sky. More raindrops began to fall.

He stood motionless in front of Eloise's gravestone, letting the rain drench him.

The driver hurried up the hill with an umbrella. He opened it over Michael's head and said with concern, "Mr. Thomas, the rain's getting heavy. We should head back. It'll be hard to get down the hill once it gets dark."

Michael nodded slightly. The driver held the umbrella over him as they walked down the hill together.

By the time they reached the cemetery gates, the rain had turned into a torrential downpour. The winding road was a blur of gray and white, with water flowing everywhere.

Michael sat in the back seat with his eyes closed, trying to rest. He hadn't brought any bodyguards today.

He used to be the CEO of STellar Enterprises, always surrounded by security. Now, without those external trappings, his business rivals probably wouldn't even consider him a threat anymore.

The sudden screech of brakes jolted Michael awake. He saw a blinding light coming toward him and instinctively raised his hand to shield his eyes.

Then everything went black.

A faint pain brought Michael back to consciousness. He heard voices around him.

"Oh my God, it's Michael's car!"

"Check if he's inside!"

"Mr. Murphy, it's really Michael!"

"Call our medical team immediately!"

"Yes, Mr. Murphy!"

"Mr. Murphy, we hit him pretty badly. Will he blame us when he wakes up?"

"Don't worry about that now. We need to save him!"

The last thing Michael remembered was a familiar face leaning close, shouting his name, "Michael! Michael! Are you okay?"

He didn't respond, his head slumping to the side as he lost consciousness again.

At a Jones Group store.

Sherry quickly adapted to the work environment and processes, fitting in seamlessly.

She was perfect for the job—beautiful, with striking features, a great figure, and a sweet, pleasant voice. Just standing there, she was an excellent advertisement.

That morning, Sherry was at the sales counter, explaining the upgraded features of the Jones Group's household robots to customers when she suddenly felt dizzy.

She raised her hand to her forehead, her legs giving way, nearly collapsing.

A middle-aged woman nearby quickly caught her. "Are you okay, young lady?"

She helped Sherry to a nearby chair, concerned. "You look pale. Did you skip breakfast?"

Other colleagues gathered around, asking, "Sherry, are you alright?"

Sherry sat for a moment, apologizing, "I'm sorry, I think it's just low blood sugar."

The supervisor came over and said, "Sherry, take a break in the lounge. We'll cover for you here."

Sherry stood up, grateful. "Thank you."

She lay down in the lounge for a while, drank some water, and the dizziness gradually subsided.

In truth, she had eaten breakfast that morning, so it shouldn't have been low blood sugar.

A sudden thought struck her, making her even paler.

She quickly pulled out her phone and opened an app to check her menstrual cycle.

As she feared, her period was overdue.

She swallowed hard, trying to calm herself, and shakily called her supervisor.

"Sherry, how are you feeling?"

"Hi, I'd like to take half a day off."

"Of course, go ahead. Rest at home, and if you're still not feeling well this afternoon, don't worry about coming back."

The supervisor had noticed Sherry's hard work over the past few days. She was a diligent and reliable young woman.

Sherry thanked her and quickly changed out of her work clothes, leaving the store to hail a cab.

"Driver, can you take me to the nearest pharmacy?"

The driver agreed and soon dropped her off at a pharmacy.

Sherry bought a pregnancy test and hurried back to her apartment.

As soon as she got inside, she rushed to the bathroom without even taking off her shoes.

She closed her eyes, silently praying, 'Please, let it be nothing. Please, let it be nothing...'

When she finally forced herself to look at the test, her heart sank.

Two bright red lines stared back at her.

Sherry felt a chill run through her body. She and Matthew had only made love once, and now she was pregnant?

Her life had just started to get back on track, and now she was faced with this.

She walked out of the bathroom with heavy steps and collapsed onto the couch.

She didn't know what to do. She and Matthew had no feelings for each other; in fact, they disliked each other. There was no way this child was welcome. She couldn't bring it into the world.

Alone, with no one to turn to, she thought of Elizabeth, the only woman in her social circle she could confide in.

Hesitating, she dialed Elizabeth's number.
