Chapter 475 The Bond Between Father and Son
The crowd erupted in shock once again.
"What? Michael's dad was the Thomas family's chauffeur?"
"Michael and his dad are so shady!"
"Hasn't anyone thought about it? Over twenty years ago, Michael was just a kid! What could he have known? Maybe he was just being manipulated!"
Unfortunately, this voice of reason was quickly drowned out.
William continued his impassioned speech, "Michael, I looked into the initial funding for STellar Enterprises. It was only a measly fifty million dollars. My mom invested ten million dollars in you!"
Michael stood at the doorway, narrowing his eyes. So, this was William's angle. His appetite was quite large.
He coldly watched William, waiting for his next move.
Sure enough, William was already shouting, "Michael, I want you to return twenty percent of STellar Enterprises' shares to my real brother! This is what you owe him!"
Michael sneered, "Empty words!"
William raised his phone, "Don't think I don't have proof! I have the transfer records from my mom to you! There's even a bank statement! You can't deny it!"
Michael remained standing quietly, snorting in disdain, "Ten million dollars, huh? I'll pay you back with interest. But as for the company shares, keep dreaming!"
Anthony, who had been standing beside William, couldn't hold back any longer and shouted at Michael, "Michael! You're just a chauffeur's son! You only reached your current status by relying on the Thomas family's wealth! Without the Thomas family, you're nothing!"
Michael had been holding back for a long time. William was, after all, his brother in name. He couldn't punch him in front of everyone. But this damned Anthony, what right did he have to shout here?
Unable to bear it any longer, Michael stepped forward and punched Anthony to the ground.
The crowd gasped in shock.
Anthony clutched his face, writhing in pain on the ground.
Seeing Anthony's miserable state, William stepped forward and shouted at Michael, "Michael! You murderer! It wasn't enough that you killed my father, now you're trying to kill my son! You murderer! You violent criminal!"
The crowd was in an uproar.
"Oh my God! What is he saying? Michael killed his father?"
"When did this happen? Derek? Derek died many years ago, didn't he? Michael was just a kid back then, right?"
"That's what makes it even scarier! A murderer at such a young age!"
"What kind of hatred would drive someone to kill their own father?"
"When he killed Derek, he probably still thought of him as his father, right? Doesn't anyone care about what could have driven a child to kill his father?"
Inside the dressing room, Elizabeth was already aware of the chaos outside. She lifted her dress and headed for the door.
Sarah stepped forward and grabbed her, "Elizabeth, Michael specifically told me that no matter what happens outside today, you can't go out. Just wait until the wedding starts and stand on the stage as Michael's beautiful bride."
Elizabeth gently brushed her hand away, "Sarah, don't joke around. Do you think I can sit here calmly with all that chaos outside? I need to see how Michael is doing."
Sarah smiled slightly, "I was just trying to do my job. I know I can't stop you. But don't go out like this; it's not safe. Wait, I'll go with you, and we'll take the bodyguards."
Outside, reporters were swarming around Michael.
"Mr. Thomas, is what your brother said true? Did you really kill your father Derek?"
"Mr. Thomas, can you tell us why you killed your father back then? Was there some compelling reason?"
"Did your father find out you weren't his biological son, so you killed him to keep him quiet?"
Standing on the outskirts of the crowd, Elizabeth was stunned.
Michael had mentioned to her that he killed his father Derek.
It was because Derek was abusing Eloise, and young Michael fought back, accidentally killing him.
Now, was this being used against Michael? To bring him down?
She looked towards Michael. He was pressing his lips tightly together, saying nothing.
Elizabeth knew him well. She knew what he was concerned about. If he admitted to killing Derek, he would have to explain the reason, which would involve Eloise.
And Eloise had been protected by Michael all his life. Protecting her had become ingrained in him.
Michael's voice was hoarse, "Are you police officers? What right do you have to ask me these questions?"
A uniformed officer pushed through the crowd, showing his badge to Michael, "Mr. Thomas, you are being accused of murder. Please come with me. You have the right to remain silent, but anything you say can and will be used against you in court."
Michael cooperated, "I want to see my lawyer."
Seeing Michael being taken away by the police, Elizabeth hurried towards him.
Through the crowd, Michael saw his bride. Her beautiful face was filled with worry for him.
He silently mouthed to her, "Wait for me."
At Jesse's place.
Philip was scrolling through his phone. He saw the video from the wedding.
He ran to find Jesse, "Dad, did you see the video? Michael's wedding was ruined today."
Jesse grabbed Philip's phone.
After watching the video, he angrily threw the phone, "Damn it! That bastard William! I thought he really treated Michael like a brother! Turns out, he's been bullying him all these years! Derek was a scumbag! He deserved to die! If he hadn't done such horrible things, Michael wouldn't have killed him!"
Philip looked at his shattered phone screen, "Dad, what do we do now? Michael was taken by the police. He might go to jail. Will he still have his assets?"
Jesse roared, "Is that all you can think about? At a time like this, you're worried about his assets?"
Philip retorted, "We were living just fine in Valoria. We came all the way to Celestria for his money. What else are we here for?"
Jesse slapped him, "But he's your real brother! I want his money, yes! But he has to be alive for that!"
Philip, holding his face, muttered resentfully, "I never realized, Dad, when you suddenly developed fatherly feelings for Michael!"
