Chapter 462 Michael After the Bath

Elizabeth sneered inwardly.

Mary, noble?

Thank goodness that woman wasn't Michael's biological mother. Otherwise, Elizabeth would always have a thorn in her heart.

In her mind, that Mary, Michael's so-called mother, was nothing but mean and selfish.

Since the gloves were off, Elizabeth didn't bother with pleasantries.

"Jesse, you didn't get a happy ending with Michael, did you?"

Jesse immediately recalled the humiliating scene at the entrance of the Thomas Villa.

He fumed, "That guy's already furious! He'll come begging me sooner or later!"

Elizabeth sneered again, "Beg you for what? To hurry up and die?"

Jesse exploded, "Elizabeth! You're about to marry Michael! You don't want him to become the laughingstock of the whole town, do you? If you don't cooperate with me, I'll spread the secret of his parentage far and wide! Then, the high and mighty Mr. Thomas will be laughed at and scorned! Elizabeth, do you want to see that happen?"

Elizabeth clenched her fists secretly and said coldly, "Jesse, your thoughts are very dangerous. Don't you care about your own life?"

Jesse snorted, "You don't need to threaten me. I have nothing to lose now. Compared to you two, I have no status or reputation to worry about. I'm already at rock bottom! What do I have to lose?"

Elizabeth sneered, "Well said! You sewer rat, you might just disappear from this world one day without a trace!"

A chill ran down Jesse's spine. He knew Elizabeth wasn't bluffing.

Even in Valoria, he had heard of Michael's methods.

Tonight, Michael had only kicked him three times, which was already merciful.

"I'm his father! He wouldn't dare kill me!"

Elizabeth snorted, "Really? You can try! Since you've investigated Michael, you should know his methods! If he wants someone to disappear from Celestria, do you think he can do it?"

Jesse opened his mouth but couldn't say a word.

Elizabeth seized the moment, "Jesse, you just want money, right? If Michael won't give it to you, I can."

Jesse's spirits lifted immediately, "I knew you were smarter than him! Why didn't you say so earlier?"

Elizabeth sent Jesse a restaurant address.

"Meet me there in an hour."

Elizabeth arrived first and waited in a private room for Jesse and his son.

Bodyguards stood at the door.

Soon, Jesse and Philip arrived.

Elizabeth remained seated, motioning with her chin for them to sit.

Jesse got straight to the point, "Elizabeth, if you pay me a hundred million dollars a month, I won't bother you anymore."

Elizabeth crossed her legs and nodded, "You have quite the imagination. Why don't you just rob a bank? Do you think I'm an ATM?"

Jesse scoffed, "It's not like you can't afford it!"

Elizabeth sneered, "Whether I can or can't, it's not your money. Don't end up with money you can't spend! Everything has its limits."

Jesse grinned, "Elizabeth, what if I throw in Quinn?"

Elizabeth frowned, "What do you mean?"

Could Quinn be part of Jesse's bargaining chip?

"Dr. Jones, isn't Quinn your patient? Don't you care about him? Don't you want to take him with you?"

Elizabeth tried to gauge his intentions, "You want to give me Quinn?"

She couldn't believe it. Jesse really didn't see Quinn as a person!

Did he think he could just dispose of Quinn as he pleased? Quinn was a human being, not a commodity!

Jesse leaned forward, "Dr. Jones, I'll give you Quinn. You pay me two hundred million dollars a month. I'll take Philip back to Valoria and never bother you in Celestria again. How about that?"

So greedy.

Elizabeth felt a wave of disgust. She stood up and walked to the door, "Not interested. I've changed my mind. Go negotiate with Michael. I'm not interested anymore."

She left without looking back.

In the private room, Jesse and Philip stared at each other, dumbfounded.

Philip couldn't help but complain, "Dad, you asked for too much! When Mary was around, it was only ten million a month! How could you ask Elizabeth for two hundred million? You scared her off!"

Jesse glared at him, "Shut up, kid. My decisions are none of your business."

Philip stormed off in a huff.

Elizabeth drove back to Whispering Pines Estates.

The bodyguards got out of the car behind her.

Elizabeth instructed, "Don't tell anyone about what happened at the restaurant today. Anyone."

The bodyguards nodded, "Yes, Ms. Jones."

Elizabeth entered the house, her mind heavy with thoughts.

Sooner or later, Michael would find out about her meeting with Jesse and Philip.

She feared he would misunderstand and grow distant from her.

She didn't want him to hear about it from someone else. She wanted to tell him herself. But not necessarily right now.

Pearl and Nolan ran to her excitedly when they saw her return.

"Mommy, you're home a bit late today."

"Mommy had some things to take care of. Have you eaten?"

Pearl and Nolan shook their heads, "Dean said we should wait for you."

Susan brought out the food from the kitchen and set the table.

"Elizabeth, go wash up. Nolan, go call Dean. It's time to eat."

The steam from the food filled the air, moistening Elizabeth's eyes.

'What a comforting, homely atmosphere,' she thought, 'It would be perfect if Michael were here too.'

She almost felt like her mom was there with her.

After dinner, the kids went upstairs to rest. Elizabeth quietly slipped out and headed straight to the Thomas Villa.

The security guard at the gate saw her and let her in.

Elizabeth gestured for him to be quiet.

She didn't want to disturb anyone else in the villa. She just wanted to see Michael.

Jesse mentioned that he had come to see Michael today.

If he spoke to Elizabeth so rudely, how much worse would he be to Michael himself?

Elizabeth thought, Michael must be feeling unsettled tonight, unable to sleep because of Jesse's disturbance.

In the master bedroom on the second floor, Michael indeed hadn't gone to bed yet.

He had just finished showering, a towel casually wrapped around his waist, his hair still wet. Droplets of water trickled down his hair, onto his neck, chest, and back.

He sat there, dazed, holding a towel, mechanically drying his hands.

The water droplets on his chest followed the lines of his muscles, flowing down to his lower abdomen.

When Elizabeth quietly opened the door, this was the sensual scene she saw.
