Chapter 413 Announcing the Relationship

The freshly fallen snow made the road a bit slippery. Dean dragged his suitcase, struggling to walk, his pace slow. Behind him, he heard hurried footsteps.

Dean didn't turn around; he knew it was Daniel.

Daniel caught up to him and grabbed his arm.

"Dean." Daniel called out his name.

Dean's stubborn streak kicked in, and he shook off Daniel's hand, continuing to walk forward.

Daniel rushed in front of him, blocking his path.

"Dean."

This time, his tone had a hint of coaxing.

Dean stopped, resting his hand on his suitcase, standing in the middle of the road, turning his head away, refusing to look at him.

He knew that in this emotional tug-of-war with Daniel, he was always the one chasing. Daniel either stayed put or matched his pace.

Daniel's attitude towards Dean seemed to be neither proactive nor rejecting, leaving Dean feeling conflicted.

Dean thought, if one day he felt tired and no longer wanted to keep moving forward, no longer wanted to be the one always initiating, that would probably be the day Daniel left him.

After all, he could never quite figure out Daniel's heart. He wasn't even sure if Daniel liked men or women, or maybe both.

Dean didn't know what was wrong with him today, why he was feeling so insecure.

He liked Daniel, that was certain. From the moment he saw Daniel's eyes, he was already deeply captivated.

If Daniel married another woman and lived a normal life, it seemed he couldn't stop him.

After all, Daniel had never explicitly said he loved Dean or wanted to be with him. Daniel hadn't even said "I love you."

What was their relationship?

Maybe they were just each other's emotional solace. Together because of loneliness.

If Daniel found a new partner and clearly told him he wanted to end their relationship, what would he do?

Would he fall into a slump again?

Compared to the last time he was betrayed by his boyfriend, why did just thinking about it this time make his heart ache so much?

Dean wondered when he had become so pathetic. Why couldn't he stand seeing Daniel just chatting with another woman?

If one day Daniel married another woman, would he go crazy?

He bit his lip, lost in his thoughts.

Daniel saw that he hadn't moved for a while and guessed he must be upset.

He had seen Dean angry, cursing, hitting people, or throwing things, but he had never seen Dean angry and silent, ignoring him.

Daniel thought, 'What was I doing just now when he saw me?'

Oh, right, his cousin had introduced him to her friend's sister.

They discovered they were high school classmates and started chatting about their high school days. Then, the housekeeper came to tell him a young man with blond hair and blue eyes was looking for him outside.

He looked towards the door. The tall figure he had been thinking about day and night was standing outside. Behind him was a snowy lawn, and snowflakes were falling gently from above.

For a moment, Daniel thought it was a dream.

How could it not be? Just last night, Daniel had dreamt of Dean, in the same scene.

Dean walked towards him in the snow, smiling, wrapped his arm around his shoulder, cupped his face, and gave him a deep kiss that left him breathless.

Daniel hesitated for only a few seconds. Dean's expression changed visibly, and he turned to leave.

Daniel finally realized this wasn't a dream. His beloved Dean had come to his hometown.

Dean wasn't familiar with Celestria, and this remote town was completely foreign to him. What kind of feelings had driven him to travel so far to find him?

Daniel abandoned his usual reserve and stepped forward, hugging Dean tightly.

He buried his head in Dean's chest, his voice muffled. "Dean, am I dreaming? Did you really come to find me? You know I've been thinking about you, right?"

Dean still ignored him, turning his head away with a "hmph."

"Who was it just now, chatting so enthusiastically with a pretty woman? Should I not have come? Did I interrupt your good time? If you don't want to see me, I'll leave right now!"

Daniel's shoulders shook as he laughed. "Dean, are you jealous?"

Dean snorted again. "Jealous? Not a chance."

Daniel lifted his head, grabbed the back of Dean's neck, and kissed him.

At this moment, only a kiss could shut him up.

In the quiet night of the small town, amidst the falling snow, they embraced tightly, kissing passionately. It was as if time had stopped, as if the world had ceased to exist.

Daniel gasped for breath, releasing his lips. Dean's eyes were red as he looked at him.

"Daniel, do you want to explain yourself?"

Daniel grabbed his suitcase with one hand and his cold hand with the other, leading him back.

"You've traveled so far; you must be tired and hungry. Let's go to my place, have something to eat and drink some hot wine. We'll find a warm place to talk. Okay?"

Dean stopped being stubborn and let Daniel lead him back.

As they stepped into the yard, Dean immediately grabbed Daniel.

He was incredibly nervous inside, but his face remained calm. He didn't realize his slightly trembling voice betrayed him. "Daniel, I should stay at a hotel."

Daniel didn't let go. "It's so late; where would you find a hotel? My place has plenty of rooms. Besides, it's dark and snowy outside. Can I let you walk alone? What if you get lost?"

He pulled him towards the glass door.

The young woman from earlier stepped out, standing under the eaves, looking at their joined hands with curiosity.

"Daniel, is this... your good friend?"

Dean quickly let go of his hand and answered, "Not really a close friend. He's just worried I'll get lost."

Daniel pulled him behind, interrupting him. "No, not just a good friend. This is my boyfriend."

The woman's expression froze for a moment, then she smiled. "I understand. I can see you love each other very much. I wish you happiness."

Daniel nodded to her. "Thank you, Karen."

Dean was stunned.

He took advantage of the moment when no one was paying attention and pulled Daniel aside. "Daniel, what are you saying?"

Daniel looked at him calmly. "I'm announcing our relationship. You were worried I didn't love you enough, so you were upset, right? I'm telling everyone I love you."

Hearing Daniel say "I love you" for the first time in such a setting, Dean was caught off guard. He stood there, mouth open, staring at Daniel.

Daniel smiled and patted him. "What's wrong? Don't believe me? Or..."

His expression suddenly changed, turning cold, his eyes questioning. "Dean, you didn't come here to break up with me, did you?"
