Chapter 565 A Familiar Back Figure

Michael replied: [Don't worry. I haven't done anything wrong. She sleeps in the master bedroom, and I sleep in the guest room. I won't touch her.]

Elizabeth was puzzled. [Then how are you going to have a baby?]

[Through IVF.]

Elizabeth breathed a sigh of relief. [Using your sperm?]

[No. Cordelia said she would go to the sperm bank at the hospital and choose herself.]

[Won't Gerald find out?]

[He just wants a child that belongs to Cordelia. To be precise, a child with the Murphy family bloodline. As for who the father is, it doesn't matter.]

Elizabeth replied: [Michael, I miss you. I want you to leave Majestic City immediately and come back to me.]

Michael: [I'll do it as soon as I can.]

[When I get out of the hospital, I'll come to rescue you! I can't rest easy with you alone in the Murphy family!]

Michael's lips curled slightly. [You don't need to rescue me. Just take care of yourself. I'll come to you.]

In his mind, Elizabeth was still a delicate woman who needed protection, yet she wanted to come and save him.

Across from him, Cordelia was eating while observing him.

He was so happy; he must be chatting with Elizabeth. He was really blatant, not hiding it at all.

Cordelia tried to suppress her anger and asked calmly, "Michael, are you full?"

Michael didn't even look up, "Almost."

Cordelia put down her utensils, "I have something to tell you. You'll be happy."

Michael glanced at her, "Really?"

Cordelia made up her mind, "Michael, I'm pregnant."

Michael was a bit surprised, "Really? That was fast."

Cordelia nodded, "I didn't expect it either. The doctor said my health is excellent and I'm young, so it was very successful. Dad is being discharged today; let's go pick him up together?"

Michael nodded, "Okay."

Zander handled Gerald's discharge paperwork.

Cordelia stood by Gerald's wheelchair and asked sweetly, "Dad, now that you're discharged, you can rest well at home."

Gerald glanced at Michael, "That depends on whether someone lets me rest peacefully."

Cordelia laughed, "Dad, did you guess that I want to hold a welcome ceremony for the little one?"

Gerald asked, "What welcome ceremony?"

Cordelia stomped her foot, pretending to be angry, "Dad, didn't I tell you? I'm pregnant! Don't you welcome the new member of the Murphy family? If you act like this, I'll be really mad!"

Gerald seemed to suddenly remember and laughed heartily, "Right, right! The new member of the Murphy family! This ceremony must be held! Once I'm home, I'll arrange for the staff to prepare."

Zander silently pushed the wheelchair forward, his lips tightly pressed together.

Cordelia looked at Michael, "Michael, what do you think of my proposal?"

Michael glanced at Zander and replied, "I think it's a good idea."

Cordelia happily linked her arm with his, "Great! This is our first child! I will definitely cherish him!"

On the day of the welcome ceremony.

Inside Murphy Castle, guests were coming and going. All the prominent figures of Majestic City were in attendance.

Gerald was still in his wheelchair, with Zander by his side.

Juan, Kirk, and Alfonso surrounded Michael, drinking.

Juan stared at Michael, "Hey man, I heard this party's for the baby you and Cordelia are expecting."

Kirk swirled his drink, "Michael, have you really moved on from Elizabeth? You got Cordelia pregnant pretty fast, that's something."

Alfonso leaned in close, whispering, "Michael, come on, is this kid really yours?"

Michael downed his drink, "I might have forgotten Elizabeth, but I wouldn't fall for someone else that quickly."

Kirk scoffed, "Doesn't matter. Getting a woman pregnant doesn't mean you love her."

Juan chimed in, "Our Michael's a romantic. He wouldn't let a woman have his kid unless he loved her."

He nudged Michael, "Right, Michael?"

Michael tilted his head back and took another swig, "The kid in Cordelia's belly isn't mine."

Alfonso's eyes widened, "Michael, are you serious? You can't just say stuff like that."

Michael said, "I haven't even touched her. The kid's from IVF."

Juan, Kirk, and Alfonso all glanced at Cordelia.

She was happily chatting with guests, surrounded by bodyguards.

Zander pushed Gerald over.

"Michael, Alfonso, Juan, Kirk."

The group raised their glasses, "Gerald."

Gerald downed his drink, "Glad you all could make it. Enjoy yourselves. I won't be joining you; got a headache."

Michael said, "Gerald, if you're not feeling well, you should rest."

Juan added, "Gerald, there's always tomorrow. Once you're better, we'll drink together."

Zander pushed Gerald away.

Michael silently watched them leave. Zander pushed Gerald into a first-floor lounge.

Soon, Zander left the room and went to Cordelia's side.

In the hall, the party continued without a hitch despite the host's absence.

Waiters moved among the guests, constantly refilling drinks and offering desserts.

Michael chatted with the three men, and then he noticed a familiar figure.

He frowned slightly, trying to recall where he had seen that figure before.

In Valoria.

After completing a series of tests, Elizabeth was finally discharged. Louis handled the paperwork and took her home.

In the car, Elizabeth sighed, "Finally discharged! I'm free! I'm liberated!"

Louis gripped the steering wheel, "You can't be careless anymore. Although the tumor in your brain was removed, you need regular check-ups. Your daily routine should be consistent, and you shouldn't be too indulgent with your diet. Remember to eat properly, don't eat junk, and don't skip meals..."

Elizabeth covered her ears and groaned, "Louie, you're so naggy!"

She looked at the familiar yet strange streets outside the window, her eyes bright, "I can finally see Eloise. I wonder how she's changed."

In the grand ballroom of The Murphy Castle in Majestic City, Celestria.

Michael seemed to be casually watching that figure.

Juan nudged his shoulder, "Michael, what are you looking at?"

Michael shook his head slightly, "I'm not sure."

Kirk followed his gaze, "That waitress? She does have a nice figure."

In the distance, the tall female waitress, under their watchful eyes, silently walked into the lounge where Gerald was resting.
