Chapter 314 Illegally Detain
Michael lay in bed, but it wasn't long before he opened his eyes. Elizabeth was still being held captive by Silver King. He was anxious and couldn't sleep soundly. His dreams were filled with Elizabeth's terrified cries for help.
He quickly went to the study on the second floor.
Dean was still at the computer, typing away.
Suddenly, a muffled sound came from behind him.
Michael followed the sound and found Elizabeth's phone in her purse on the sofa. The caller ID read "Mrs. Cox."
Michael guessed this must be Louis's mother. He swiped to answer.
The voice on the other end immediately cried out, "Elizabeth, have you found Louis? I know his disappearance has something to do with you. Someone sent me an anonymous message saying you know where he is!"
"Elizabeth, I'm begging you! You have to get Louis out safely! His father and I never approved of him pursuing you, but we didn't oppose it either, did we? I don't think we've wronged you. Louis certainly hasn't. Elizabeth, you can't harm him!"
Michael coldly replied, "You have the wrong number," and hung up.
Thank goodness Elizabeth didn't answer that call herself. Would she have been heartbroken if she heard that?
In the castle, Silver King invited Elizabeth into his study.
He got straight to the point, "Ms. Jones, I know you're an expert in neurology. I've had chronic headaches for many years, and the pain has been getting worse recently, affecting my work and sleep. Since you're here, I need you to create a detailed treatment plan and cure me."
Elizabeth paced slowly in his study, her hands instinctively resting on her lower abdomen. She couldn't let Silver King harm the child she was carrying.
She looked at the walls adorned with world-famous paintings and thought, 'Silver King collected all these priceless artworks, but does he even appreciate them? Probably just bought them to appear cultured.'
Without turning around, she stared at a painting and said, "Silver King, I'm already under your control. What I can do is up to you, isn't it?"
Silver King stood up, his expression serious. "I've already apologized to you. Hurting your friend was never my intention. To show my sincerity, I'll have the guards outside Louis's room removed. He's free now."
Elizabeth finally turned around. "Are you serious?"
Silver King looked a bit annoyed. "You dare doubt me? No one in this world has ever dared to doubt me."
Elizabeth quickly turned back. "I'm sorry, Silver King. I'm just so happy that I can't believe it. I didn't mean to doubt you. I promise."
Silver King's expression softened as he sat back down. "Ms. Jones, in all my years, no one has ever dared to challenge my authority like you have."
Elizabeth nodded. "That's quite sad. I'm honored."
Silver King laughed in exasperation. "You think I'm complimenting you?"
Elizabeth shrugged. "What else? Your life must be pretty dull."
Silver King raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?"
Elizabeth shrugged again. "Whatever you say, people just agree with you. You don't know what's true and what's false. You live in a world of your own making. When you turn your back, you have no idea what the real world is like. Isn't that a boring life?"
Silver King frowned slightly. "Is that so?"
Elizabeth walked over to him, gently placing her hands on his temples. "Of course. People should hear all kinds of voices, right?"
Her cool fingertips touched Silver King's temples. Surprisingly, he didn't resist. He relaxed in his chair, arms resting on the armrests, leaning back slightly with his eyes closed, enjoying Elizabeth's massage.
As Elizabeth massaged him, she thought, 'If I had a knife right now, would I have a chance to kill Silver King on the spot?'
She looked up again, taking in the spacious and luxuriously decorated study, her eyes subtly scanning the room. The room was surely filled with cameras. Maybe, before she could even strike, she'd be shot by hidden guards.
She remembered being forced to change clothes when she was brought into the castle. All her personal belongings, including the spare phone Dean gave her, were taken away. She had no chance to bring a weapon.
Fortunately, she had given her passport and travel documents to Dean for safekeeping.
She wondered what Dean was doing outside. Was he worried about her? Would he do something dangerous? And Michael? Would he come? She had refused his offer to take her to the airport. Would he hold a grudge and ignore her from now on?
Elizabeth's mind was racing with thoughts.
Silver King's voice brought her back to reality. "Ms. Jones."
Elizabeth snapped back. "Silver King, what's wrong? Did I hurt you?"
Silver King spoke slowly. "No, your massage is just right. I feel very comfortable, and my headache has improved a lot. Thank you."
Elizabeth paused her movements. "Massages can only temporarily relieve symptoms. They can't cure the condition."
Silver King replied casually, "That's fine. You can stay here and give me massages every day. As long as I don't have headaches, it's all good."
Elizabeth was shocked. "Silver King, are you planning to illegally detain me?"
Silver King remained relaxed. "How can you call it detainment? I'll pay you a high salary. If you want, you can bring your children here too. Wouldn't you feel less lonely with them around?"
Elizabeth stepped back, putting distance between them. "Silver King! Don't push your luck!"
Silver King swiveled his chair, watching her with interest. "Ms. Jones, you're so young. And I'm already old. If nothing unexpected happens, I'll die before you. So, I think, as long as you're by my side, giving me massages every day, I won't suffer from headaches anymore. After all, surgery is risky."
He added, "Oh, and when I go out, you'll come with me."
Elizabeth was furious, her chest heaving. She glared at Silver King, unable to say a word.
