Chapter 77 He Kissed Her
Elizabeth, realizing she couldn't persuade Michael, decided to ignore him. She closed her eyes, perhaps due to the sleepiness of pregnancy or the fact that she was woken up early and hadn't had enough rest. Surprisingly, Elizabeth actually fell asleep in his arms.
Nancy finished preparing breakfast and brought it to the dining table. Not seeing either of them in the living room, she called out, "Michael? Elizabeth? Breakfast is ready!"
No response. Feeling uneasy, Nancy gently pushed the door open.
Inside, Michael and Elizabeth were asleep, holding each other.
Nancy quietly backed out and closed the door softly.
She took the food back to the kitchen to reheat. Then, she left a note on the dining table.
The note read: [The food is in the kitchen. You can eat it when you wake up. I'm off to work.]
By noon, Elizabeth woke up feeling hungry. She hadn't eaten much the night before, just some fruit, and had skipped breakfast as well. As she moved, Michael also woke up. Elizabeth quickly tidied her hair and clothes before heading out of the bedroom in search of food.
Upon seeing Nancy's warm note on the dining table, she felt a surge of happiness. "Michael, come have brunch!" she called out cheerfully.
"What did you say we're having?" he asked curiously.
"Brunch. Breakfast and lunch together, isn't that brunch?" Elizabeth replied.
Michael lloked around and asked, "Where's your mom?"
"She went to work. She'll be back in the evening," Elizabeth said, spearing an sausage with her fork.
They sat at the dining table, eating brunch face to face.
Elizabeth suddenly realized they had never sat together so peacefully to eat a meal.
No cold words, no indifference, no arguments, no mutual rejection.
They were just like any ordinary couple, sitting at opposite ends of the table.
After finishing, Elizabeth washed the dishes and left the kitchen.
She yawned again; she still wanted to sleep.
Michael asked, a bit confused, "Elizabeth, why are you so sleepy? Could there be something wrong with your body? How come you, a healthy person, seem to have less energy than me, a patient?"
Elizabeth was startled by his words.
It was true. She realized she had been feeling particularly sleepy lately.
It must be because of the pregnancy.
Pregnant women were generally more prone to drowsiness.
Michael looked her up and down.
"Also, I've noticed you've gained quite a bit of weight recently. Eating well and sleeping well, I see."
"I was catching up on morning sleep. Now it's time for a nap. It's different," Elizabeth explained.
After saying this, she ignored Michael and walked straight to her bedroom.
Michael followed her in.
Elizabeth looked at him helplessly, "Michael, I'm sleepy and need to rest. Are you going to sleep with me too? Are you sleepy as well?"
Michael looked at her expressionlessly, "Why not? We just enjoyed a nice naptime together."
Elizabeth pulled the blanket over herself and lay down.
"Suit yourself, I'm sleeping. Don't disturb me," Elizabeth said, closed her eyes, and continued to sleep.
As soon as Elizabeth lay down, Michael kicked off his shoes and slid in beside her.
Just like earlier, he pulled Elizabeth into his arms.
Half-asleep, Elizabeth found a comfy spot in Michael's arms, resting her right hand on his waist.
Why fight it? Might as well get some good sleep.
Elizabeth's leg naturally slipped between Michael's legs.
This way, their bodies were even closer, fitting together perfectly.
Michael, who had been quiet, suddenly opened his eyes.
He stared deeply at Elizabeth in his arms.
Her body was so soft, and she smelled amazing. This scent filled Michael's lungs with every breath.
It was a new experience for him, something he'd never felt in his twenty-some years.
As if guided by some unseen force, his lips lightly touched Elizabeth's forehead.
Michael felt his heart pounding in his chest.
He couldn't control it. He swallowed, a wicked drive to get closer to Elizabeth setting him on fire.
Elizabeth seemed to sense something. She looked up at him, and realized Michael was different from usual.
There was a turbulent emotion in his eyes, something unfamiliar to her.
Elizabeth struggled in confusion, trying to make Michael let go of her. However, Michael held her arm tightly, pulling her to face him. Elizabeth widened her eyes in surprise, looking at Michael.
She was about to speak, "Michael, you..."
But before she could finish, Michael's lips covered hers in a quite gentle fashion.
Michael's arms were on either side of Elizabeth's body. He used one hand to gently cover her eyes.
"Be good, Elizabeth, close your eyes," Michael cooed.
As if guided by some unseen force, Elizabeth obediently closed her eyes.
Michael's lips curled into a slight smile. He kissed her gently.
His warm tongue lightly traced the outline of her lips.
Michael's teeth gently nibbled on her full lips. He lightly sucked on her lips, his tongue gently licking.
Elizabeth lay on her side, eyes closed, too nervous to move. Michael pulled away from her lips, looking down at her. His lips touched her forehead, planting a gentle kiss.
Then he kissed down from her brow, along her nose, to her lips.
He treated her like a fragile treasure.
He kissed her eyebrows, eyes, cheekbones, cheeks, and the corners of her mouth.
He took her small, pink earlobe into his mouth.
Elizabeth felt her earlobe in Michael's mouth, his warm tongue repeatedly tracing over it.
She couldn't help but let out a soft moan and slightly shrank her shoulders.
Michael kissed her neck and delicate collarbone.
He lifted his body slightly, freeing a hand to gently unbutton Elizabeth's shirt.
