Chapter 198 She Stunned the Entire Audience

Daniel was totally baffled.

He grabbed the shirt that was already washed and dried, and hung it up in Michael's lounge closet.

Dean accompanied Elizabeth for lunch, and then they went shopping for clothes together on the commercial street.

Every time Elizabeth tried on an outfit, Dean would give his honest opinion.

They had already picked out a bunch of outfits, both mature and cute styles, and Elizabeth was worn out from all the trying on.

She begged Dean, "I'm so tired! I don't want to try on any more. We've bought enough; let's go back!"

The store clerk said enviously, "Miss, your boyfriend is so good to you, helping you pick out every piece of clothing so carefully."

Dean put his arm around Elizabeth's shoulder. "Of course! A man has to spoil his own woman!"

Elizabeth smiled helplessly and pushed his hand away. "Hurry up, I'm going to die of exhaustion."

After paying, Dean grabbed Elizabeth. "The mission isn't over yet, let's go get you a new hairstyle. Come on."

It was clear Dean wasn't planning to let her off today, and Elizabeth protested. "Is there no end to this?"

Dean said, "You're the star of tomorrow's banquet! I want you to look stunning in front of everyone! Outshine all the beauties there! Capture everyone's attention!"

Elizabeth lightly slapped his shoulder. "I'm going to a banquet, not a beauty pageant!"

But Elizabeth couldn't resist Dean and ended up getting a new hairstyle.

After it was done, she looked at herself in the mirror.

With new clothes and a new hairstyle, she really did look much brighter.

Elizabeth's mood also improved a lot.

In the president's office of Stellar Enterprises, Daniel walked in and asked, "Mr. Thomas, do you have any instructions?"

Michael hesitated a bit. "What time is Elizabeth's banquet tomorrow?"

Daniel was also confused, thinking, 'Michael, didn't you just look at the invitation?'

He respectfully replied, "Six o'clock tomorrow evening."

With a cold expression, Michael said, "I have other plans for tomorrow evening. I can't make it. You and Matthew take David and go."

Daniel quickly stated his position. "Mr. Thomas, if you're not going, then I'm not going either. It's not a must-attend event."

Michael nodded and said nothing more.

Daniel left.

He returned to the executive assistant's office and sat in a daze for a while.

Just now, Michael said he wasn't going to the banquet, and Daniel immediately said he wouldn't go either.

But now, as Daniel calmed down, the thought of missing another chance to see Dean made him feel a sudden sense of loss.

He opened the invitation and looked at the handwriting.

How could someone write such crooked letters on an invitation?

He gently touched his name, wondering what Dean was thinking when he wrote it.

Did Dean want to see him or not?

However, Daniel's loyalty to Michael was absolute. Rather than upset Michael, he would rather not see Dean.

He put the invitation away, gently placed it in the drawer, and tried to focus on his work.

The next evening, Dean drove Elizabeth, who was dressed to the nines, to the banquet hall.

Elizabeth wore a white V-neck dress that hugged her waist perfectly. The tiny diamonds on the dress sparkled with her every step, shimmering beautifully.

The guests were surprised to see that the president of the Jones Group was so young and beautiful!

They couldn't take their eyes off Elizabeth.

The employees of the Jones Group, although aware of their president's beauty, were still stunned. Elizabeth usually didn't dress up much, and this time, they were truly amazed.

They didn't expect their president to look so radiant when dressed up, comparable to a movie star!

Elizabeth mingled with the guests, toasting and chatting with them.

Sarah came to her side and said, "Elizabeth, you look so beautiful today!"

"Thank you!" Elizabeth clinked glasses with her.

Sarah said, "Elizabeth, I bet you didn't pick out that dress yourself! Is it Dean's taste?"

Elizabeth laughed. "You know me well, Sarah!"

Sarah said, "I knew it! How could you suddenly learn to pick out clothes? Can I borrow Dean sometime? I'd like him to help me shop for clothes."

Elizabeth raised her glass and pointed towards Dean. "He's over there. Go tell him. He'll be happy to know his taste is appreciated."

Sarah happily clinked glasses with Elizabeth and looked around the banquet hall. "Elizabeth, I don't see your ex-husband. Did you not invite him?"

Elizabeth gestured for her to lower her voice. "I did invite him. I even wrote the invitation myself. Dean personally had someone deliver it. You can't blame me."

Sarah nodded. "Then let him be. Let's go drink."

She put her arm around Elizabeth's waist and walked to the side.

She leaned close to Elizabeth and whispered, "Elizabeth, today might not be your actual birthday, but it's your belated birthday party, so let's just pretend it is! I have a special birthday gift for you."

Elizabeth laughed. "Sarah, didn't you already give me a birthday gift?"

Sarah mysteriously said, "That was a physical gift; this one is too, but you can't take it with you."

Elizabeth's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"

Sarah said, "I'm not telling you yet. I'll let you know after the banquet."

Elizabeth's curiosity was aroused.

Meanwhile, Dean called Daniel, "Are you coming or not?"

Daniel glanced at Michael. The workday was over, yet he was still staying late at the office with Michael. He wasn't sure why. Michael looked busy, but it was unclear what he was working on.

Daniel said, "Michael is still working, I can't leave, he might need my help."

Dean said with dissatisfaction, "Fine, you all just keep busy then."

The tone suggested they were deliberately not attending, but it seemed they really were deliberately staying.

Daniel wasn't good at arguing, and feeling guilty, he ended the call quickly.
