Chapter 205 I Offended You

Elizabeth stumbled towards the door, feeling like the ground was shifting beneath her.

"Elizabeth," Calla's voice was icy, "if you breathe a word of this to anyone, I'll make sure you and Michael are finished."

Calla's threat hit Elizabeth like a punch to the gut.

She pushed the door open and bolted out.

Never in her wildest dreams did she think she'd end up in this humiliating position, facing the main woman as the other woman.

No matter how Calla played dirty, she was still the only girlfriend Michael acknowledged publicly.

Elizabeth used to look down on Patricia, but now she was in the same boat.

She stumbled out of the Club, the early morning streets almost deserted, the autumn wind biting cold.

Dressed only in a white dress, she hugged herself tightly against the chill.

Her mind was a mess. She didn't want to go home, didn't want to call anyone.

She spotted a bench by the roadside and curled up on it, hugging her knees and burying her head in her arms.

Elizabeth loathed what she'd done. She couldn't fathom why she had gone along with Michael's behavior in the first place.

She knew it was shameful and wrong.

When Michael woke up and realized they had slept together, would he regret it?

After all, it was a drunken mistake.

Since Calla had told her to forget everything, Elizabeth decided to pretend it never happened, to act like it was Calla who had been with Michael.

That way, Michael wouldn't lose anything. Calla was his girlfriend, after all.

It was only natural for them to sleep together.

Thinking this, Elizabeth felt a sharp pain in her heart.

She had wanted to stay away from Michael, so how did things get to this point?

Elizabeth clutched her head, pulling at her hair, her mind in turmoil and her head aching.

She fell asleep on the bench, lost in her thoughts.

She didn't know how long she had been out when her phone alarm went off.

Elizabeth fumbled in her bag for her phone and glanced at the time.

Her vision was blurry, so she rubbed her eyes.

Her hand brushed her forehead, and she was startled by the heat.

She touched her forehead again to confirm.

She was burning up.

No wonder, given the cold weather, the little food, and the alcohol.

Her thin dress and the long night on the streets didn't help.

It would be a miracle if she didn't have a fever.

Elizabeth stood up, hailed a cab, and headed back to Whispering Pines Estates.

Meanwhile, in a private room at Sky Entertainment Club, Michael sat up in bed.

His head throbbed, so he rubbed his temples.

He seemed to remember a dream from last night. In it, Elizabeth was completely submissive, letting him do whatever he wanted.

Michael smiled bitterly.

Is Elizabeth that obedient? Yeah, right. He'd be lucky if she didn't bite him.

It must have been a drunken dream. But it felt so real. The touch of Elizabeth's skin, the satisfaction—it all felt so genuine.

He looked around and realized this wasn't a hotel room.

It hit him—this was a private room at the Club.

How did he end up here? Why was he here?

As he tried to piece it together, a delicate arm wrapped around his waist.

Startled, he wondered if last night's dream was real. Did he really sleep with Elizabeth?

He turned, ready to be close to her again, but his smile froze when he saw the face beside him.

It was Calla.

How did she get here? How could he be in bed with her?

Michael lifted the blanket and saw he was naked.

So, he did sleep with someone last night. But it wasn't Elizabeth—it was Calla?

Calla saw the shock on his face and it hurt her.

She hid her jealousy and asked gently, "Michael, you're awake? Does your head still hurt? Are you tired? Do you want to rest a bit more? You were so vigorous last night..."

Michael cut her off softly, "Calla, how did we end up here?"

Calla realized he didn't remember.

She said, "Michael, last night Elizabeth came to the Club, and you followed her. She hired a gigolo, and you had a big fight. She left, and you drank a lot."

Michael held his head, trying to remember, but it was all a blur.

A gigolo? And they had a big fight?

But they were divorced. Why would he be angry?

Was that why he mistook Calla for Elizabeth?

Calla sat up, pulling the blanket to cover herself.

She looked down, appearing shy. "Michael, you drank too much and were resting at the hotel. Your shirt got dirty, so I went out to buy you a new one. When I came back, you were gone. I found out you came here. When I got here, you grabbed me. You were so strong, I couldn't break free."

Michael got out of bed, looking serious.

Calla continued, "Michael, you held me so tightly last night. You kissed me, saying you missed me. I couldn't refuse you. Then you took me to bed. You kissed me over and over and made love to me."

Michael picked up his clothes from the floor and started dressing, his back to Calla. "Stop, Calla. I'm really sorry. I offended you last night."

Calla quickly replied, "Michael, why are you apologizing? I'm your girlfriend. It's normal for a couple to do these things. Why would you feel like you offended me?"

Michael still didn't turn around. "I was drunk and didn't get your consent. I forced myself on you."

Calla shook her head. "No, Michael. I wasn't forced. I was willing. You're so amazing, so perfect. How could I not like a man like you?"

Michael finished dressing and stood by the door.

"Calla, I'm leaving now. Later, have the driver take you back to Moonlit Grove." With that, Michael opened the door and left without looking back.
