Chapter 530 Knock Her Out

Elizabeth kept sipping her drink in silence.

The bodyguard next to her broke the quiet, "Ms. Jones, maybe we should head out? Mr. Stewart did say he hoped you wouldn't stay here too long. It's best to leave ASAP."

He nodded slightly towards the sea. Elizabeth glanced out and saw a small boat trailing behind the cruise ship.

"Is that arranged by Juan Stewart?" she asked, surprised.

The bodyguard nodded. "Before we left, Mr. Stewart specifically told me that if you couldn't get Michael out, you should leave immediately on the small boat."

Elizabeth shook her head. "I can't give up. I want to try again. Staying with the Murphy family is dangerous for him. Whether it's Gerald or Gerald's enemies, they'll come after him. He'll be caught in the crossfire."

The bodyguard sighed. "You're my boss, so I'll stick with you."

Elizabeth gave a bitter smile. "You're pretty loyal."

Her phone rang. Elizabeth saw it was a call from Pearl on her smartwatch.

"Pearl."

"Mommy, when are you coming back? Nolan, Francis, and I haven't seen you in forever."

Elizabeth felt a pang of guilt. "I'm sorry, sweethearts. Mommy is still busy here and can't come back just yet."

"Mommy, are you looking for Dad?"

Elizabeth hesitated for a moment. "Actually, Mommy has found your dad. But he has some things to take care of and can't come back with me right now."

Pearl huffed. "Mommy, I think Dad doesn't want to come back with you. He married you just a few days ago and then stopped coming home. We shouldn't have moved into his house. Nolan and I think it's better if we stay in our own home. No matter how big and fancy Dad's house is, it's his house, not ours."

Elizabeth was taken aback by how perceptive Pearl was for her age. She didn't know how to explain.

"Pearl, your dad isn't staying away on purpose. It's because Mommy did something bad and made him angry. He doesn't want to see me, so..."

Pearl interrupted, "Mommy, stop making excuses for him. Nolan already told me everything. He got married to another woman in Majestic City. He's not your husband anymore. Mommy, why are you still trying to get him back? He keeps hurting you. I don't want to call him Dad anymore."

Elizabeth was stunned. She didn't expect the kids to find out the truth so quickly.

"Pearl, listen to me. Even if your dad married someone else, he's still your dad. He still loves you and will be good to you."

"Mommy, let's not talk about him anymore."

"Okay, is Sherry there?"

"Matthew came over the other day and said something to her. She left after that, looking really upset. I think she didn't want to leave us. Matthew must have forced her. Mommy, men are all bad! Except for Mr. McGinnis."

Elizabeth chuckled. Pearl idolized Carter like he was a god. To her, Carter was perfect.

"Pearl, have you seen Carter recently?"

"Mr. McGinnis visits us often and brings us treats and toys. Mommy, let's not talk about others. You haven't seen Francis in a while, right? I'll video call you so you can see how cute he is. He can walk now, wobbling like a little penguin. It's so funny."

Elizabeth had just ended the video call when she heard Michael's voice behind her.

"Is that our kid? She's pretty cute."

Elizabeth turned around, startled. "How do you walk so quietly? You scared me!"

Michael's face was cold. "You were too focused to hear."

Elizabeth looked at him. "You still don't remember anything? You shouldn't stay here. Come back to Aurora Bay with me."

Michael didn't answer her question, just stared at her coldly. "Elizabeth, do you want to die?"

Elizabeth was shocked. "What are you talking about?"

"If you don't want to die, leave now."

Elizabeth gave a bitter smile. "Michael, is it because your new wife saw me? Is she unhappy? Did she complain to you? Or—"

She suddenly leaned in and whispered in his ear, "Does she know we made love?"

Her actions were extremely suggestive, making it look like she was flirting with him.

Michael pushed her away, causing her to stumble.

The bodyguard quickly caught her.

Michael looked at the bodyguard. "Take her away immediately. Otherwise, I can't guarantee your safety."

Elizabeth's eyes reddened. "Do you care about her feelings that much?"

Michael's gaze was icy. "I told you to leave. Otherwise, I won't hesitate to throw you into the sea to feed the sharks."

Elizabeth wanted to say more, but the bodyguard interrupted, "Ms. Jones, Mr. Stewart is calling."

Elizabeth glanced at the phone the bodyguard handed her. It was Juan.

She answered, "Mr. Stewart."

"Elizabeth, have you left the cruise ship?"

"Not yet."

"I advise you to leave quickly. I didn't help you get on the ship to watch you commit suicide."

"Mr. Stewart, I appreciate the invitation you gave me. But I have other plans."

She hung up before he could say more.

Michael frowned. "You know Juan? He helped you get on the cruise?"

Elizabeth scoffed. "You forgot me, but you remember Juan."

Michael rubbed his temples. "I forgot you because you're not important to me. Juan helped me a lot back in the day. I won't forget that. For years, he, Gerald, and I have been like brothers."

Elizabeth didn't expect him to explain his relationship with Juan and Gerald.

She knew Juan through Emily back in Valoria.

But Elizabeth felt there was no need to tell Michael that now.

Michael's thoughts were probably all on his new wife.

To him, she was just an unnecessary presence.

Elizabeth leaned on the railing, ignoring his words.

"Isn't today your wedding reception? I haven't even had a bite to eat. Is this how the Murphy family treats guests? Making them leave on an empty stomach? Don't you think that's rude?"

Michael's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Elizabeth, stop being unreasonable. I will throw you into the sea to feed the sharks if you don't leave."

Elizabeth scoffed. "Are you embarrassed by my presence? Did the Murphy family find out about our past? Are you ashamed?"

Michael turned slightly, looking towards a part of the ship.

Suddenly, he frowned and quickly turned back to Elizabeth.

Before she could react, he struck her on the back of the neck.

Elizabeth looked at Michael in disbelief before losing consciousness.
