Episode 264 Assassination
A sudden chill hit, and Elizabeth instinctively hugged herself.
Out of nowhere, Michael jumped out of bed, grabbed her ankle, and yanked her to the edge, making her scream uncontrollably.
Elizabeth thought Michael had lost his mind.
She stared at him in horror. "What are you doing?" she asked.
Michael's face was ice-cold. "What am I doing? Can't you see?" he snapped.
Elizabeth shook her head, terrified. "No, don't do this. Don't make me hate you."
Michael didn't flinch. "Hate me? Fine. There's no love without reason, and there's no hate without reason. If you hate me, so be it!"
He ripped off Elizabeth's pants and tossed them aside.
Now, she was just in her underwear, exposed in front of him.
His eyes were full of anger, no other emotion.
Elizabeth didn't want to be with him like this. This was clearly rape.
She glanced at the golden candlestick on the bedside table.
She had noticed it when she was first locked in. It was heavy, made of metal. If used with enough force, it could be lethal.
Elizabeth suddenly sprang up, grabbed the candlestick, and pointed its tip at Michael.
She was nearly naked, her hands trembling, eyes filled with tears.
She aimed the candlestick at his heart. "Michael, I'm warning you, don't come any closer. Otherwise, I..."
Michael cut her off. "What will you do? Kill me too?"
Elizabeth shouted, "Michael! Don't push me! I didn't kill your child! And I certainly didn't kill your mother, even though she was cursing me on her deathbed!"
Michael pushed his chest against the tip of the candlestick. "Come on, kill me, end this pain! Life is too bitter!"
Elizabeth didn't expect him to move closer and was stunned. She was so scared she moved the candlestick back a bit.
But then Michael stepped onto the bed. From his pant leg, he pulled out a small dagger and flicked off the sheath.
He reversed the dagger and handed the handle to Elizabeth, then took the candlestick from her and tossed it aside.
Elizabeth was confused. What was he trying to do?
Michael held her hand, pressing the dagger against his chest. His voice softened, almost gentle. "Go ahead, use this. It's sharper and won't fail to pierce."
Elizabeth panicked, trying to pull her hand back. "Michael, what are you doing?"
Michael actually laughed. "Aren't you going to kill me? Come on! Stab here! This dagger can cut through iron; it's extremely sharp. Kill me! End it all."
Elizabeth's eyes widened as she shook her head vigorously, trying to pull her hand back, but she couldn't.
Michael held her hand tightly, gripping the dagger handle. He looked at her, then gritted his teeth and forced her hand to stab the dagger into his chest.
Blood flowed from his chest as Elizabeth immediately pulled her hand back.
Michael was completely mad.
Elizabeth's mouth dropped open in shock as Michael's body hit the floor with a thud.
Snapping back to reality, she shouted towards the door, "Someone, come! Help!"
But there was no response from outside the door.
Elizabeth figured the servants probably thought Michael was just dealing with her, so no one dared to come to her aid.
She shouted again, "Michael is dying! Come save him! Call an ambulance!"
Finally, the door burst open, and the servants and bodyguards rushed in.
One bodyguard took a look at the half-naked Elizabeth on the bed and immediately turned around.
Elizabeth yelled, "What are you doing? Get the first aid kit! Call 911!"
Only then did they notice Michael lying on the floor by the bed.
The servants and bodyguards rushed over, kneeling beside Michael, anxiously shouting, "Mr. Thomas!"
Elizabeth shouted urgently, "Don't all crowd around him! Is anyone listening to me? Hurry!" She pointed at one of them and said, "You, go call 911!"
That person quickly ran out to make the call.
Elizabeth got off the bed and pointed at a bodyguard. "You should be fast. Go get the first aid kit! He needs to stop the bleeding!"
The bodyguard hesitated but knew Elizabeth was trying to save Michael's life, so he quickly left.
Elizabeth then pointed at another person and said, "You, is there a family doctor in the estate?"
The servant quickly nodded and replied, "Yes, there is."
Elizabeth said, "Go get them!"
The servant quickly left as Elizabeth squatted beside Michael, pressing on his wound.
She looked at his pale lips, tears streaming down, and said, "Michael, I didn't really want you to die. What are you doing? What if you really die?"
Michael's breath was weak, red foamy blood bubbling from his mouth as he coughed uncontrollably.
Seeing this, Elizabeth quickly lifted his head and placed it on her lap.
She cried, "Michael, I don't want you to die. Please, you have to live."
Michael struggled to comfort her, "Elizabeth, don't worry. Even if I die, I won't hold you responsible."
Before he finished speaking, his head tilted, and he lost consciousness.
At that moment, the family doctor rushed in with a medical kit, saw Michael on the floor, quickly opened the kit, and started to stop the bleeding and bandage him.
A bodyguard looked at Elizabeth and said coldly, "Please step aside. Don't obstruct the doctor."
Hearing this, Elizabeth stood up, stumbling back to the bed.
A young maid came over and draped a robe over Elizabeth. "Ms. Jones, please put this on."
Elizabeth looked up, her eyes misty with tears. She said, "Thank you."
The maid looked embarrassed and said, "The bed is stained with blood. You probably can't sleep here. Please come with me to another room."
But Elizabeth shook her head, looking at Michael on the floor, and responded, "I'll leave after the ambulance arrives."
The bodyguard nearby heard her and said disdainfully, "Pretending to care."
Elizabeth pretended not to hear. After all, at this moment, Michael's safety was the most important thing.
The family doctor was preparing to pull out the dagger from Michael's chest. But even though Michael was unconscious, his hand still gripped the handle.
Seeing this, Elizabeth walked over and said, "Let me do it."
The family doctor looked at her in disbelief.
Elizabeth loosened Michael's grip on the handle, pressed her lips together, held the wound with a sterile gauze in one hand, and gripped the handle with the other, pulling it out forcefully.
Blood splattered, covering Elizabeth's face.
