Chapter 553 Reaching an Agreement
Cordelia, lost in thought, decided not to worry about the child's connection to Elizabeth.
She wanted Elizabeth gone as soon as possible. She also wanted Michael's undivided love and attention.
"Transplant surgery? When can it be done? Will Elizabeth agree?" she asked eagerly.
Glenn replied, "Ms. Murphy, Elizabeth has no idea about this. She doesn't even know she's pregnant. I don't want her to find out anytime soon; it would be too much for her."
Cordelia nodded, "To avoid complications, it's best she never knows. Also, Dr. Cole, we need to sign an agreement. I want you to promise that you will never tell Elizabeth or Michael about this."
Glenn agreed, "No problem, Ms. Murphy. Your request is reasonable, and I can do that. I also need to perform brain surgery on Elizabeth, so she'll be admitted soon. I'll arrange for my colleagues in obstetrics to handle the embryo transplant. Let's exchange contact information, and I'll call you when it's time."
Cordelia took out her phone and nodded, "Alright."
After Cordelia left, Glenn felt a temporary relief from a major problem.
But he was still uneasy. Secrets never stay hidden forever. One day, Elizabeth would learn the truth.
Glenn had never done anything wrong in his life. He felt that although he was helping Elizabeth, it was still somewhat unethical.
He returned to his office, opened his laptop, and began editing a document. Once finished, he saved it and sent it to Elizabeth's email, scheduled to be delivered 18 years later.
With that done, Glenn sighed deeply. Elizabeth might hate him in the future for separating her from her child.
But for now, it was the best choice for her. It protected both her and her unborn child. There was no better solution.
Glenn called Elizabeth, "Where are you?"
Elizabeth laughed, "I'm out shopping."
Glenn chuckled, "We're scheduled for surgery tomorrow, and you're out shopping? You must have a lot of faith in my surgical skills."
"Of course, we've known each other for years. I trust you."
"Why the sudden urge to shop?"
"Well, I'm about to have brain surgery, and they'll shave my head. I don't want to walk around with a bald head after I leave the hospital. So, I'm buying some wigs to switch up my look every day."
Glenn laughed, "I admire your attitude. A positive mindset helps with recovery."
"Alright, Glenn, enough about the surgery. Where are you? I'll come find you."
"I'm at the hospital. Bring your bodyguard and documents, and I'll help you with the admission process. We still have a lot of tests to do."
"Okay, I'm on my way."
Elizabeth hung up and immediately called her bodyguard to drive her to the hospital.
At Cordelia's residence in The Murphy Castle.
During breakfast, the maids served Cordelia and Michael. Cordelia waved them away, leaving just the two of them.
Cordelia cautiously said, "Michael, I went to the hospital yesterday."
Michael looked up, signaling her to continue.
Cordelia said, "Michael, I understand why you don't want to be intimate right now. But my father wants us to have a child soon."
Michael frowned, "My physical reactions aren't controlled by my brain. Are you suggesting I find another man for you?"
Cordelia's face turned pale, and she quickly shook her head, "No, Michael, that's not what I meant. I only want you. I'm your wife; I'd never look for another man! I had some tests done today, and the doctor said I'm healthy. We could try IVF."
Michael's eyes lit up, "IVF? Are you sure? I've heard it's painful and doesn't always work the first time."
Cordelia smiled, hearing his concern, "It's okay, Michael. I'm willing to endure any pain or trouble to have your child."
Michael asked softly, "Will you tell your father? If he finds out we used this method, will he blame me?"
"Don't worry, Michael. I won't tell him. This is between us, and it has nothing to do with him. I'll make sure the staff keeps quiet."
Cordelia hesitated, "Michael, if you don't have any reaction, does that mean you won't produce sperm?"
"In theory, yes," he said, looking at her. "Should we consult the sperm bank at the hospital?"
Cordelia quickly said, "Michael, you're so busy. I can go to the hospital myself. I'll have the bodyguard and maids with me; it won't be a problem."
Michael nodded, "That works. If we go together, my father might find out and ask a lot of questions."
Cordelia secretly sighed in relief. If Michael didn't go with her, she could secretly arrange for Glenn to transplant Elizabeth's embryo into her.
That way, she would have Michael's child without anyone knowing.
In the neurosurgery ward of Majestic City Hospital.
Elizabeth completed her admission process, changed into hospital clothes, and finished her pre-surgery tests with Glenn's help.
She was in a private room, alone, as her bodyguard was fetching her reports.
Elizabeth took out her phone, deciding to inform Dean.
She trusted Glenn's skills but wanted to be prepared. If something went wrong during surgery, she didn't want her children to suffer.
She dialed Dean's number.
Dean answered excitedly, "Elizabeth! You finally called! I thought you had disappeared!"
