Chapter 162 Eloise Fell Ill
By the end, Elizabeth's expression was grave.
While they were talking, the car had already pulled up to Louis' place.
Louise waved at Elizabeth, "See you, Elizabeth. I'm heading up. Let's grab dinner sometime."
Elizabeth waved back with a smile. "Bye, Louis. You just got off the plane, go home and get some rest. My mom's been asking about you a lot lately. Come over for dinner when you can."
Louis's smile got even bigger. His eyes lit up as he looked at Elizabeth and softly said, "Sure thing."
At the door of Nolan's classroom at Global Horizons International School.
Michael said, "Eloise, it looks like you really like Nolan."
Eloise looked up at Michael. "I do like Nolan. Can you not be so hard on him? If you're always tough on him, Nolan won't like me."
Michael frowned. "Eloise, relationships should be equal. If being around Nolan is tough and hurtful, you don't have to deal with him."
Eloise shook her head, "No! I just like him. I like talking to him. Just like I like talking to you."
Eloise stepped closer and gently tugged on Michael's sleeve. "Michael, please, be nicer to Nolan, okay?"
The classroom door creaked open.
Nolan walked out and gave them a cold look.
He started walking down the hallway, heading outside.
Eloise quickly followed him. "Nolan, wait up!"
Michael stood there, totally confused. What was up with Eloise? Why was she so into Nolan? What had gone down between them? This was unlike Eloise's character.
Eloise followed Nolan down the hallway, heading outside.
Suddenly, a classroom door banged open. Two people rushed out and started fighting in the hallway.
Seeing this, Eloise suddenly leaned against the wall, knelt down, hugged her head with her hands, and cried out in pain, "No! Don't hit me!"
Nolan heard her, stopped, and turned around.
He frowned as he looked at her, curled up on the ground.
Nolan couldn't believe it.
Those two fighting had nothing to do with Eloise, so why was she so scared?
What had Eloise been through?
Michael saw her like this and ran over, picking her up and gently patting her back. "Eloise, it's okay. I'm here, no one can hurt you."
But Eloise kept holding her head and crying, "Don't hit me! Don't hit me!"
Her forehead was covered in cold sweat, her face was pale, and her lips had turned light.
She finally couldn't take it anymore and fainted in Michael's arms.
Michael called out to her nervously, "Eloise! Eloise!"
He reached out and carried Eloise in his arms, walking outside quickly.
Michael placed Eloise in the back seat and told the driver, "Go back."
The driver stepped on the gas, and the black Rolls-Royce shot forward like a cheetah.
The Thomas Villa.
The driver parked the car at the villa entrance.
The bodyguard opened the car door for Michael.
Michael helped the now-awake Eloise out of the car.
Eloise's face was still super pale.
Michael held her gently. "Eloise, how are you feeling?"
Eloise shook her head lightly. "Michael, I feel terrible."
Michael picked her up and carried her to her room on the second floor.
He told the bodyguard, "Get the family doctor up here. Call Calla and have her come over too."
Soon, the family doctor showed up with his medical kit.
He checked Eloise over. "Mr. Thomas, did Eloise go through something sudden? This looks like a stress response syndrome."
Michael kept his eyes on Eloise lying on the bed. "She saw two people fighting in the hallway at Global Horizons International School and got scared."
The family doctor said, "Eloise's physical health is fine, but she's dealing with some emotional issues. To fully recover, I suggest you take her to a psychologist. She needs targeted psychological treatment. Otherwise, it might get worse over time."
Michael gently held Eloise's hand. "Okay, I understand."
Michael sighed softly. "I know she has psychological issues, and they're severe. I had found a psychologist for her before. But she's very resistant to strangers. She wouldn't let the psychologist near her, let alone accept treatment."
Michael rubbed his temples and asked, "Do you know any experts in this field? Any familiar doctors you can recommend?"
The family doctor took out his phone, scrolled through his contacts, and sent a number to Michael. "Since the surgery, Eloise's condition has improved significantly. In my opinion, her psychological age has increased. Maybe her resistance to strangers has also lessened. You can call this doctor to make an appointment and take Eloise to try. Maybe this time she won't resist. We should remain hopeful."
Michael nodded gently, "Alright. I'll take her to give it a try."
At this moment, under Michael's comforting, Eloise, exhausted from her emotional turmoil, had fallen asleep.
Michael released her hand, gently tucked it under the blanket, and walked out of the room, closing the door softly behind him.
The bodyguard was still at the door and approached Michael to report, "Mr. Thomas, I called Moonlit Grove. The people at the villa said Calla has been getting ready in her room since dinner last night. Around 9 PM, she dressed up nicely and left the villa without the driver or bodyguards. No one knows where she went, and she hasn't returned yet."
Michael frowned.
Calla didn't come home last night?
After a moment, his frown relaxed.
He thought, 'Forget it, Calla has her own life. I shouldn't interfere too much.'
After all, she was just a doctor he hired to treat Eloise. The fact that they became a couple was purely accidental.
Calla still had her own life to live.
He couldn't restrict her too much.
As for dressing up, what young woman didn't like to dress up?
Let her be.
When Calla showed up at the Thomas Villa, she seemed a bit anxious, almost out of breath.
It was like she had been forced to rush over from somewhere.
In such hot weather, she was wrapped up tightly.
She wore a high-neck shirt and long sleeves and pants.
Michael vaguely remembered that she had been wearing dresses every day recently. Why wasn't she wearing a dress today?
