Chapter 194 He Will Sleep with You

Dean clutched his phone in one hand, the other on his hip, pacing furiously around his office. "Daniel, have you lost your mind? What's got you so worked up today? What did I do to piss you off?"

Daniel paused for a moment on the other end. "What are you talking about? You started this!"

Dean's eyes widened. "What did I even say to you? I just asked if you were going to the party. What else did I say?"

"Yeah, sure. You're always right. I'm the one who's wrong. Anything else? If not, I'm hanging up." Daniel sounded pissed and hung up before Dean could respond.

Dean stared at his phone in disbelief, his eyes wide with anger. "Daniel, did you seriously just hang up on me?"

Dean wondered why Daniel was suddenly treating him so badly. Could something have happened to Daniel?

Dean stood by his desk, hands on his hips, fuming for a long time before he finally calmed down and sat back down to continue writing names on the invitation cards.

Over at the Moonlit Grove, Calla called Michael. "Michael, it's me. We haven't visited Mary at the Thomas Villa in ages. How about we go there for dinner tonight?"

Michael thought for a moment. Since Calla suggested it, he couldn't say no. "Alright. Get ready, and I'll come pick you up."

At the Thomas Villa, Calla brought a bunch of gifts for Mary. Before dinner started, Mary pulled Calla aside for a chat.

Calla kept up with everything Mary talked about, acting like she was interested in everything Mary liked.

Mary held Calla's hand, gently patting the back of it. "Calla, you've been dating Michael for a while now. What are your plans? Are you thinking of getting engaged first or going straight to marriage? Michael isn't getting any younger, and it's not good to drag it out too long."

Calla glanced over at Michael. He acted like he didn't hear anything and stayed unmoved.

Calla said to Mary shyly, "Mrs. Thomas, I'll follow Michael's lead."

Mary smiled and kept holding Calla's hand. "You're such a sweet and considerate girl. If only Michael had met you a few years earlier."

Calla smiled and said, "I feel the same about you. Meeting you feels like meeting someone I've known for a long time."

Mary was very pleased. "I heard you usually stay at home alone. Do you get bored or feel lonely?"

Calla smiled. "I'm fine. When I have nothing to do, I read medical books and study Eloise's surgery plans. What about you, Mrs. Thomas?"

Mary sighed. "The young ones are out during the day. In such a big house, I'm the only person here, and I can't find anyone to talk to."

She looked at Calla. "If you don't mind, come over often to keep me company."

Calla immediately agreed. "Sure, I also long for the quiet life. I'll accompany you for walks, sunbathing, and coffee."

Mary smiled sincerely. "That kind of life sounds wonderful. Calla, it's settled then! Don't back out."

Just then, a servant came in to announce that dinner was ready. Calla affectionately took Mary's arm. "Alright."

Mary patted her hand. "Let's go. You can sit next to me."

After dinner, Michael said he had something to do and needed to leave first.

Calla stood up. "Michael, I want to stay here for the night. I really enjoy the surroundings, and I haven't had a chance to explore yet."

Michael looked confused. "It's dark. What is there to see?"

Mary didn't want Calla to leave either. "We can turn on all the lights in the garden, and Calla can have a good look."

Michael frowned slightly. "Then I'll head back first. When you leave, have the driver take you."

Calla nodded. "Okay."

Then, Michael left.

Mary felt a bit tired and instructed a servant, "Go call Anthony down."

Anthony quickly came down the stairs.

Seeing that Calla hadn't left, he pretended to be slightly surprised. "Dr. Griffin."

Calla nodded slightly at him. "Mr. Thomas."

Mary waved Anthony over. "Anthony, Calla hasn't had a good look around our garden. It's dark, and even with the lights on, some places are hard to see. Accompany her for a walk. I'll go to bed and won't join you young folks."

Anthony agreed. "Alright, Grandma."

Calla politely said to Anthony, "If it's not too much trouble, Mr. Thomas."

Mary smiled. "It's no trouble for him. He's just been lounging around anyway. It's good to keep him busy."

With that, she walked to her room.

Anthony extended his hand like a gentleman. "Dr. Griffin, this way please."

He told the servants behind him, "You all can go about your own business. I'll accompany Calla."

The servants all left upon hearing this.

Anthony led Calla into the Thomas Villa garden. They walked deeper and deeper until they reached the depths of the rock garden.

Anthony looked around and whispered to Calla, "Did you stay on purpose to wait for me?"

Calla crossed her arms and leaned against the rock, rolling her eyes at him. "You know the answer."

She glanced around to make sure no one else was there.

She moved closer to Anthony. "Have you thought of a way? Is there an opportunity to get Michael to sleep with me?"

Anthony also leaned close to her ear and whispered, "There's a perfect opportunity now. Elizabeth is hosting a party. We can find a way to get my uncle drunk and have him spend the night with you. Whether you two actually sleep together or not, you can get up from the bed and insist that you did. My uncle won't be able to deny it."

Calla, still worried, asked him, "What if he doesn't get drunk? What if he's only half-drunk?"

Anthony gave Calla a wicked smile and took a small bottle out of his pocket.

He squinted his eyes and whispered, "It depends on you. You need to find a chance to pour this into his drink. Once he drinks it, he won't be able to resist sleeping with you."

Calla took the bottle, looked at it, and then put it in her bag.

She mocked Anthony. "Anthony, I knew I could count on you for this. I knew you wouldn't let me down."
