Chapter 517 She Is Your Enemy

Sherry gave a bitter smile. "He thinks I messed up. But I don't think I did. Still, it's his house, so he gets to decide. He doesn't like me, so he kicked me out. I can't blame him."

Nolan sat beside her. "It's okay. We'll take you in."

Sherry looked at him gratefully. "Thanks!"

Susan started setting the table for dinner.

Pearl took Sherry's hand and led her to the table. "Aunt Sherry, let's eat together."

As soon as Sherry sat down, she suddenly covered her mouth with her hand.

Without explaining to Pearl and Nolan, she rushed to the bathroom, still covering her mouth.

When she came back, Pearl and Nolan were looking at her with concern.

Pearl asked worriedly, "Aunt Sherry, are you okay?"

Sherry shook her head and smiled. "I'm fine. I heard this is a normal reaction during pregnancy."

Pearl and Nolan's eyes widened. "You're pregnant?"

Sherry nodded. "Yeah."

They didn't ask any more questions.

After dinner, Pearl took Nolan and Sherry upstairs.

With the door closed, Pearl quietly asked Sherry, "Aunt Sherry, who's the father?"

Sherry gave a wry smile. "Sorry, Pearl, I haven't found you a new uncle yet."

Nolan hesitated. "So, the baby..."

Sherry shrugged. "The baby is Matthew's. But it was an accident. He doesn't know anything about it."

Pearl pouted. "Even if he doesn't know, he shouldn't have kicked you out! You're pregnant!"

Nolan sat quietly, deep in thought.

Sherry suddenly asked him softly, "Nolan, would you come with me somewhere tomorrow?"

Nolan looked up. "Where?"

Sherry looked a bit embarrassed. "To the hospital. I want to terminate the pregnancy. If the baby isn't wanted, it's better not to bring them into the world to be rejected."

Nolan frowned and stood up. "Why would the baby be rejected?"

Sherry buried her head in her knees. "You don't know how much Matthew hates me."

Pearl stood up too. "I'm calling Dad! I'm going to tell him what Matthew did!"

Sherry lifted her head and gently pulled Pearl's hand. "Pearl, Michael is missing. We can't find him."

Pearl pouted. "But we can't just let Matthew treat you like this."

Nolan spoke softly. "Why do you have to rely on a man?"

He looked at Sherry. "My mom raised us without a man."

Pearl nodded. "Yeah, it was always Mom and Grandma with us. We never saw our dad."

Sherry smiled. "Your mom is amazing and brave. She had you and raised you on her own. She's incredible."

Sherry lowered her head again, speaking gloomily. "I don't have an education, I don't have money, and I don't have a mom to help me. I don't know how to raise a child on my own. I'm just so useless."

She absentmindedly traced patterns on her leg.

Nolan seemed to make a decision. "You don't have to terminate the pregnancy."

Sherry looked up at him quickly. "Why?"

"You don't have money, right? It's okay, I got you covered. I'm just a kid, I don't spend much. I'll give you my allowance and savings. It should be enough to support the baby. And you have a job, so you won't need my help forever."

Sherry's tears fell in big drops. Her eyes were red as she looked at Nolan. "Nolan, why are you so good to me? You and your mom are so kind to me. You're such a wonderful family."

Pearl sat beside her. "Because we're family."

Sherry looked at Pearl, then at Nolan. They had only met that day, but Nolan and Pearl were already so kind to her.

She thought of her brother Philip, who had taken all the money Jesse left and only gave her a little.

Sherry wiped her tears. "I feel so lucky to have met you."

Nolan shook his head and walked away. "I can't take this."

Sherry watched Nolan's back, feeling a bit anxious.

Pearl leaned against her. "Aunt Sherry, don't worry. Nolan is always like this. He doesn't smile much, but he's good to me and Mom."

In Gerald's private castle in Sovereign City, Celestria.

In the spacious living room, Gerald sat on the couch with one leg crossed, smoking a cigar.

Michael was wheeled in by a nurse.

Gerald stood up. "Michael, how are you feeling?"

Michael's eyes were distant. "Where am I? Who are you? Why do you know me?"

Gerald leaned on the arms of Michael's wheelchair. "Michael, don't you remember me? How could you forget me? I'm Gerald! This is my castle in Celestria! You've been here before!"

Michael shook his head, confused. "I don't know you. I've never been here."

Gerald took a deep drag on his cigar and exhaled sharply. He turned to the doctor beside him and shouted, "What's going on? Why doesn't he recognize me? How did you treat him?"

The doctor bowed his head nervously. "Mr. Thomas had a car accident. It's possible he lost some memories due to a brain injury. We hope he can recover over time."

Gerald waved them away irritably. "Everyone out!"

The doctor and nurse quickly left the room.

Gerald opened a webpage on his phone and showed it to Michael. He watched Michael's face closely.

"Michael, do you remember this woman in the video?"

Michael took the phone and looked at it carefully, frowning. "She's not very impressive. What's so special about her?"

Gerald put away the phone, surprised. "Michael, you forgot her too?"

Michael looked at him. "Should I remember her? Who is she? Is she important to me? Do you know her?"

Gerald nodded firmly. "Yes! She's very important to you! Of course, I know her! Even if you forget everyone else, you shouldn't forget her!"

Michael frowned. "Who is she? What did she do?"

Gerald stared at him, speaking slowly. "Michael, let me tell you. Her name is Elizabeth. She's your mortal enemy."

Michael's frown deepened. "Enemy?"

Gerald nodded emphatically. "Yes! She took your company, left you penniless, and caused your car accident."
