Chapter 138 I Want to Stay at Your Place

Elizabeth snapped out of her thoughts and took out her phone, starting to browse hotel options. She planned to book a hotel for Dean to rest. Dean smiled and gently grabbed her hand. "You just got off the plane and haven't even had a chance to rest. Why'd you come straight to the office? Let me book a hotel for you. You need to get some sleep first."

Dean grabbed her hand. "Don't worry about it. I went to your place right after I landed. Nancy had already taken my luggage. She should have my room ready by now. Elizabeth, from now on, I can stay at your place and enjoy Nancy's cooking every day! Just thinking about it makes me happy!"

Elizabeth put her phone away. "Alright. They haven't seen you in a long time either."

On the other side, Pearl waited outside the restaurant Anthony frequented. When he walked out, their eyes met, and a big smile spread across Pearl's face as she held up a large bag.

Pearl was stunning. After meeting her once, he couldn't get her out of his mind.

Her slightly curly hair fell over her forehead, and her big eyes blinked like a little deer in the woods. Her rosy skin made people want to pinch or kiss her cheeks.

Anthony squatted down in front of her. "I remember you."

Even though he suspected she had put a virus on his phone, he couldn't be mad at her sweet smile. "Little girl, why are you here again?"

"I was waiting for you," Pearl said, still smiling sweetly at Anthony.

Anthony couldn't help but say, "Last time I lent you my phone, and then it got a virus. Do you know what happened?"

Pearl tilted her head and looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Virus? What virus? My mom told me that people get sick from viruses. Can phones get viruses too? Is your phone sick? Did you take it to the hospital?"

Anthony suddenly felt a wave of guilt.

Pearl was, at most, four years old. What could she possibly understand? How could he suspect her?

Anthony smiled at Pearl. "Little girl, why did you come to find me this time?"

Pearl took out a UV-protection sun hat from the bag and handed it to Anthony. "I told my dad about last time. He said that when you do something wrong, you should apologize. I mistook you for my dad. So, my dad told me to give you this gift. It's really hot now. If you wear this, you won't have to worry about the sun."

She finished speaking and put the sun hat on his head.

Receiving the gift from such a lovely little girl made Anthony very happy. The hat was a bit tight; he pressed it down firmly.

Pearl took it off. "I forgot to tell you. This hat can be adjusted to fit. Let me fix it for you."

Just then, the hat's buckle caught Anthony's hair.

Pearl's movements were a bit rough, and when she took off the hat, she pulled out a few strands of his hair.

Anthony winced in pain.

Pearl adjusted the hat's strap and put it back on his head.

She looked him over. "Not bad. Pretty handsome. Bye!"

Pearl waved at him and ran away, leaving Anthony standing there, stunned.

He didn't know who Pearl was, but she was so pretty and cute. Despite pulling out a few of his hairs, she was still quite polite.

Wearing his new sun hat, he realized he had forgotten to ask Pearl how she found him.

In the distance, Pearl ran to Nolan.

She handed him the strands of Anthony's hair she had tightly held. "Nolan, look, mission accomplished!"

Nolan took it carefully and put it in a prepared plastic bag. "Well done. I'll reward you with ice cream."

Pearl cheered.

At the Thomas Villa, Eloise had already woken up. Susan took care of her diligently every day.

Susan also suspected the relationship between Michael and Eloise. But she knew she had no right to ask about Michael's affairs. So, Susan just did her job and took care of Eloise.

Usually, after Susan finished cooking, she would bring the food to Eloise's room. After Eloise finished eating, Susan would come back to collect the dishes.

One day, Eloise spoke to Susan, "I want to go out."

Susan was a bit troubled.

Michael had instructed that Eloise should not leave the room. She still needed bed rest.

Susan carefully said to Eloise, "Eloise, how about I push you to the window to look at the garden downstairs? Many flowers are blooming in the garden. They are very beautiful."

Eloise tilted her head and looked at her. "But I can see the flowers in the garden from upstairs every day."

Susan continued. "Then you can watch me from the window. I'll go to the garden and pick a fresh bouquet of roses for you, okay? What color flowers do you like? Pink? Bright red? Or yellow? The roses on the arch are blooming beautifully. I'll pick some for you and put them in the glass vase by your bed so you can see them up close. How about that?"

Eloise shook her head vigorously. "No. I wanna go play outside. You can stay here."

Because of her vigorous head shaking, she suddenly held her head in pain and screamed.

Susan was scared out of her wits. "Eloise, please calm down. I'll go ask Mr. Thomas, okay? Wait for me."

Eloise looked up in confusion. "Mr. Thomas? Which Mr. Thomas? Why do you need to ask him?"

Susan patiently explained to her. "Of course, the owner of this villa, Mr. Thomas. Eloise, how do you usually address him?"

Eloise lowered her head and pondered. "Mr. Thomas..."

Susan had long noticed that Eloise was different from ordinary people.

She didn't understand why Michael wanted to keep a woman like her in the villa.

What was even stranger was that she had never seen Michael treat a woman with such care, gentleness, and patience.

When Michael was with Elizabeth, he was moody and unpredictable, just like the changing weather.

He was also cold and ruthless to Margaret. However, Michael treated Eloise like an elder treating a child.

Susan didn't understand but didn't delve into it.

Over time, she would eventually find out the answer.

It was work hours, so Susan didn't dare disturb Michael. She called Calla directly.

Because Michael had told her that if Eloise had any special circumstances and it was inconvenient to contact him, she could contact Calla.

The call connected.

Susan quickly said, "Dr. Griffin, could you please come over? Eloise wants to go out, but Mr. Thomas doesn't allow it. And she is very insistent. I don't know what to do."
