Chapter 182 He pinned him down again

Daniel looked hurt. "Dean, I remember it was you who pinned me to the bed after getting drunk last night."

Dean rubbed his temples, trying to piece together the hazy memories of the previous night.

He and Daniel had been at the Cozy Banquet Room, caught in a tense standoff. Elizabeth never showed up, and then Sarah called, prompting him and Daniel to rush to the banquet hall.

He spotted a familiar figure hurrying away while on the phone—it was Emily's assistant, Louis.

Louis was someone Elizabeth trusted a lot, so Dean figured he must have found out where Elizabeth was and went to find her.

Dean called Sarah, and they both went into the banquet hall to entertain the guests. With Elizabeth missing, he had to step up. After all, he was hosting this banquet for her. Luckily, Sarah was there, and she was a natural at mingling.

Dean followed her around, drink in hand, while Sarah chatted with the guests. Whenever someone toasted, she had Dean drink for her. After a few rounds, Dean was already feeling pretty tipsy. The rest of the night was a blur.

Seeing Dean staggering, Daniel had to support him to a suite in the Cozy Banquet Room to rest. He managed to get Dean into the room and onto the bed, but he was exhausted himself. He decided to lie down for a bit too.

Daniel remembered he had a task from Michael and was about to call him when Dean pulled him back onto the bed.

Dean, tall and slender, completely covered Daniel, making it impossible for him to move.

Daniel tried to push Dean away but couldn't. Dean held him tightly, refusing to let go. Daniel had no choice but to stay put, hoping Dean would fall asleep soon so he could push him away.

Dean rested his head on Daniel's shoulder, murmuring in his ear, "Daniel, you bad man, why did you deceive me? Do you know I hate being lied to the most? I thought you were different, that your eyes were full of sincerity. I trusted you completely, but you hurt me! You broke my heart."

As Dean spoke, he started to cry, his tears soaking Daniel's shirt. Daniel lay there, his heart aching.

Since their last unpleasant encounter, he hadn't contacted Dean. Every time he hovered over Dean's name on the chat app, he would type a message and then delete it. He wanted to talk to Dean but didn't know what to say. What if Dean thought he was despicable and shameful? Wouldn't that be humiliating?

But during the day, in the gaps of work, and at night, in his empty house, Daniel always thought of Dean. He thought of his golden hair, his ocean-blue eyes, his hearty laugh, and his enchanting voice. He always assumed that after that night, Dean would hate him and never want to see him again. But now, it seemed things weren't as he had thought.

Daniel suddenly felt a wave of grievance.

Daniel raised his hand, gently stroking Dean's hair, and said with a hint of frustration, "Why didn't you invite Michael to Elizabeth's birthday party? You're clearly using your position for personal revenge."

Dean suddenly lifted his head, his eyes bloodshot, and snapped, "Daniel, you're too much! Your mind is always on Michael! You never consider me! All you ever talk about is Michael!"

Daniel was taken aback. "Michael pays my salary, of course I have to consider him!"

Dean glared at him. "I don't like you mentioning him all the time."

Daniel couldn't help but chuckle. "Alright, I won't mention him. But, you know what? If you don't invite Michael, then I can't come either, right?"

Dean sighed, "Right. I didn't think of that. Next time, I'll just send you an invitation, not Michael."

He finished speaking and leaned back on Daniel's shoulder.

Daniel thought, 'Dean must be really drunk, talking about next time. The next birthday is a long way off.'

In a daze, Daniel fell asleep.

Early in the morning, he was woken up by someone hitting him with a phone.

After hearing Daniel's words, Dean scratched his head and apologized. "Sorry, my bad. I'll explain later. I need to find Elizabeth first."

Suddenly, he seemed to remember something, and his expression changed.

He got dressed and said coldly to Daniel, "Daniel, you and Michael's scheme almost fooled me again! Last night you deliberately stalled me to give him time to take Elizabeth away, right? What did he want to do to Elizabeth?"

He sneered, "Daniel, you really have some nerve! Using the same trick twice, and I still fell for it!"

He gave a cold glance at the stunned Daniel on the bed. "If anything happens to Elizabeth, I won't let you off!"

Dean left these cold words and slammed the door without looking back. Daniel was left alone, sitting on the bed, with a heavy pain in his chest.

He wanted to tell him, things weren't like that. Michael taking Elizabeth away wasn't part of their plan.

Michael's original plan was to wait for Elizabeth to arrive at the banquet hall, then he would crash the birthday party, find Elizabeth, personally give her the gift, and say "Happy Birthday!"

That was all.

Who could have expected a sudden change?

Dean left the hotel, After meeting up with Nolan and Pearl at the kindergarten, he then took a cab to the Thomas Villa.

At the entrance of the villa, Louis was on the phone with Nancy. "Nancy, I've decided not to wait. I'm going to ring the doorbell and bring Elizabeth out of the villa."

Nancy warned him not to confront Michael directly, or he would get hurt.

Then, she hung up.

At this moment, Dean, Pearl, and Nolan also got out of the car.

Louis was surprised to see the kids. "What are you doing here?"

Nolan stepped forward. "Louis, we're here to find my mom and bring her home."

He pointed to Louis's car and asked, "Louis, can I sit in your car for a while?"

Louis already felt extremely apologetic.

Hearing Nolan's request, he opened the car door for him.

He thought Nolan was just curious about his car.

Nolan got in, sat down, took off his backpack, and took out his laptop.

Nolan then started typing rapidly on the keyboard, and after a while, he calmly closed the laptop.
