Chapter 127 I Won't Change My Sexual Orientation

Matthew got up, clutching his chest dramatically, "Sarah, you nearly gave me a heart attack! You weren't this intense when we used to hang out. Why do you act like this around Elizabeth? And just now, you were all nice to those good-looking guys. Why are you so tough on me? I haven't seen Ms. Jones in ages, can't I catch up with her? Plus, the place is packed, and Michael and I just got here. Can we share a table with you?"

Sarah narrowed her eyes, threatening, "So that's why all these boring guys kept coming over. You guys set this up? Are you that bored? Is this funny to you?"

Seeing things getting out of hand, Matthew quickly waved his hands, "No, we didn't set it up. We had no clue. Seriously!" He looked at Michael for backup, "Say something, Michael!"

Elizabeth stood up at that moment. The last person she wanted to see right now was Michael. Even though deep down, she had wanted to see him. She was just that conflicted.

Elizabeth grabbed her bag from the chair, "I'm done eating. You can have my seat. Go ahead."

Michael quickly grabbed her hand.

He had seen from the car earlier that she had just arrived a few minutes ago. No way she was full already.

His eyes locked on Elizabeth, saying softly, "Enjoy your meal, we won't bother you anymore."

Even with makeup on, when Elizabeth looked up, Michael could still see the tiredness in her eyes.

What had she been doing to look so exhausted?

Michael thought it was best not to disturb her.

He called out to Matthew, "Let's go."

Matthew reluctantly came over and left with him.

Elizabeth watched them leave before sitting down to continue her meal.

Matthew and Michael returned to their seats as the waiter placed all the dishes in front of them.

Michael looked up at Matthew, his face full of confusion.

Matthew looked back at him, "Why are you staring at me? Don't look at me like that, I know I'm handsome, but staring won't change my orientation. Besides, your heart is already crowded with people, I don't want to compete."

Michael didn't argue with him and poured himself a glass of wine.

Matthew quickly pressed down on his hand holding the wine glass.

"Michael, I brought you out for a proper meal. Tell me, since Eloise went missing, how long has it been since you had a decent meal? No one's looking after you at home. Have you seen yourself in the mirror? You look terrible. You'll be malnourished if you keep this up, and your body won't hold out. If you find Eloise later, who will she rely on if you collapse?"

Hearing that, he put down the glass, picked up a bowl of thick soup and slowly drank it spoon by spoon, "Eloise has been found."

Matthew asked in shock, "What? When was she found? Who found her? Where was she found? Where is she now? Is she okay?"

Michael looked at him, exasperated, "You have too many questions. Which one should I answer first?"

Matthew, letting out a sigh of relief, straightened up, "Alright, answer them one by one. But hey, it's great that Eloise has been found. You can stop worrying so much."

Michael brought the steak plate in front of him and started cutting the steak.

"Just before you called me, Calla said Eloise fainted by the roadside, and a passerby called 911. She was taken to Harmony Health Hospital. Then Calla performed brain surgery on her. Before you and I went out, Eloise had already been transferred to another hospital, but she hasn't woken up yet."

"A passerby called? Didn't you offer a 500 million dollar reward for finding her? Didn't this person claim the reward? That's 500 million dollars! An ordinary person could never make that much money in their entire life," Matthew asked, shocked.

"I don't know, I can't find this person. Actually, I'm also wondering if this person even exists," Michael shook his head, puzzled.

"If she wasn't taken to Harmony Health Hospital by someone calling 911, then how did she get there?" Matthew asked curiously.

Michael stopped eating, frowning, "That's my question too."

Matthew continued, "You just said Calla performed the surgery on her?"

Michael nodded, "Yeah. Calla called me and said she performed brain surgery on Eloise. When I got to the hospital, the surgery was already done."

Matthew pinched his chin thoughtfully, "Michael, it seems like Calla might not be so simple. She performed surgery on Eloise, how much are you planning to thank her with? If Eloise wakes up and recovers well, won't you have to give her a lot of money?"

Michael nodded, "I've mentioned it to her. I want to pay her, but she refused. She said the money I gave her before was enough. But that was just a deposit. If she really manages to cure Eloise, I will definitely thank her properly."

Matthew suddenly became interested and leaned closer to Michael, "Michael, have you ever thought that maybe Calla's target isn't your money, but you?"

Michael looked up at him.

Matthew said with a playful tone, "Don't look at me like that. It's entirely possible, isn't it? You must know it too. If Calla doesn't want your money, then she must want to marry you. Then all your money will be hers in the future. I do think Calla has bigger ambitions. Think about it, if a billionaire like you becomes her husband, the money you promised her would be nothing compared to your wealth, right?"

Michael lowered his head and continued eating, "Don't say that, Dr. Griffin isn't that kind of person. She has high medical ethics, saving lives without expecting anything in return. Don't measure her only with money."

Matthew tentatively asked, "Let's not talk about Calla. Michael, let me ask you, you divorced Elizabeth because of Eloise, right? All these years, I didn't even know about Eloise's existence. You concealed her so well, we were all fooled by you! Be honest, did Elizabeth divorce you because she found out about Eloise?"
