Chapter 346 Caught

Elizabeth had originally planned to bring Dean along, but he said he was worried people might get the wrong idea about their relationship.

Elizabeth was a bit puzzled. They had been living together for so long, and Dean had never mentioned this before. She couldn't figure out what had changed recently.

But she didn't dwell on it.

She decided that when she got back, she would tell Dean that Daniel had also come to the party and see if he regretted not coming.

Since she was pregnant, she avoided alcohol and just sat at the bar, nibbling on a salad.

A waiter approached with a tray and politely informed her that there was juice on it.

Elizabeth was thirsty and didn't think much of it. She took a glass without hesitation.

The taste was sweet and refreshing, something she hadn't had before.

She drank it all in one go.

Being quite far along in her pregnancy, she had been feeling tired often. Now, she felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her.

Just then, a person dressed as a waiter passed by. Elizabeth gently grabbed his arm. "Excuse me, could you take me to a guest room to rest?"

The waiter immediately supported her. "Miss, please follow me."

Elizabeth, though a bit groggy, couldn't help but ask, "You don't recognize me?"

After all, the Ramirez family was famous for their social events. The head of the Ramirez family loved hosting parties, and their staff were carefully selected, accustomed to seeing all kinds of high-profile guests.

Elizabeth was somewhat well-known in Aurora Bay, so it was surprising that this waiter didn't recognize her. Her first thought was that he must be new.

She was helped upstairs and into a guest room. As soon as she lay down on the bed, she fell asleep.

The waiter quietly closed the door and left.

Michael was still in the banquet hall. He chatted with a business partner for a few moments, then glanced around and noticed that Elizabeth was gone.

A sudden, inexplicable sense of unease gripped him.

He immediately tried to reassure himself, thinking that maybe she had just gone to the restroom, maybe she had left early, or perhaps she was avoiding him.

But his anxiety only grew.

He felt a rush of blood to his head, and his mind buzzed.

He stumbled. Daniel, standing nearby, immediately noticed something was wrong.

With a serious expression, he steadied Michael and took the glass from his hand, whispering, "Mr. Thomas, are you alright?"

Michael was already feeling the effects. His vision blurred, and his body felt hot. A surge of heat rushed to his lower body, making him desperate for relief.

He gritted his teeth in anger. He couldn't believe someone had dared to use an aphrodisiac at a Ramirez family party.

Clenching his jaw, he grabbed Daniel's arm and whispered, "The champagne is spiked. Get me out of here, quickly."

He couldn't believe someone in Aurora Bay had the audacity to target him like this. Whoever it was, they were playing with fire.

Daniel understood immediately. He pressed his lips together and helped Michael out.

Michael struggled to maintain control and instructed, "Call an ambulance. I need to get to the hospital for a stomach pump."

Daniel nodded. "Mr. Thomas, hang in there. I'll call right now."

He quickly dialed for emergency services.

In the banquet hall, Matthew was chatting with Margaret. She looked at him, raising her glass, her eyes sparkling with affection.

Matthew felt like he was in a dream. He was so happy he forgot everything else.

Margaret hadn't looked at him like this in years. She set her glass down and turned to leave.

Matthew grabbed her hand. "You're leaving already?"

Margaret seemed surprised by his action.

She quickly smiled. "I... just need to use the restroom."

Matthew immediately stood up straight. "I'll go with you."

Margaret laughed. "It's just the restroom. No need to be so dramatic."

She brushed off his hand and walked towards the restroom.

A few unfamiliar men were gathered near the restroom door, and Margaret took a step back.

Matthew took her hand. "It's a bit noisy on the first floor. I'll take you to the restroom upstairs."

Margaret didn't object and smiled at him. "Alright, thank you so much."

Matthew looked at her. "Don't be so formal with me."

He led the way, with Margaret following, a meaningful smile on her face.

They reached the second floor. The hallway was lined with guest rooms. Margaret asked timidly, "Matthew, do you know where the restroom is up here?"

Matthew shook his head. "I've never been up here before."

They walked along the hallway, looking for the restroom.

Suddenly, they heard a woman's voice coming from one of the guest rooms.

Matthew stopped immediately.

It was Elizabeth's voice.

His first instinct was to check if Michael was in there.

The door was ajar, not fully closed.

Matthew stood at the door, listening to the intermittent sounds inside.

It was a man and a woman.

"I was afraid you wouldn't come."

As soon as the woman spoke, Matthew clenched his fists.

The man's voice was unfamiliar. "I was afraid you wouldn't come. You've turned down the Ramirez family parties before. I thought you'd refuse this time too."

The woman's voice was seductive. "I knew you were coming, so of course, I had to come. How else would I see you?"

There was a sound, seemingly the man's hand slapping the woman's buttocks, followed by him saying, "Aren't you afraid Michael will be angry if he finds out you came to see me?"

The woman moaned, clearly enjoying it. "That old man has no sense of fun. Not like you... so thrilling..."

Matthew couldn't listen anymore.

It was too shameless.

He gritted his teeth, his hand gripping the door handle so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

Margaret stood beside him, gently asking, "Matthew, what's wrong?"

Matthew wanted to burst in, beat up the shameless couple, and drag them in front of Michael to show him that Elizabeth wasn't worth his time. She didn't deserve him!

But in the end, he closed his eyes and gently shut the door.

He didn't go in.

He couldn't face Elizabeth's disgraceful side. He felt heartache and pity for Michael.

He turned and took Margaret's hand, heading for the stairs. "Let's go back to the first floor. I'll protect you."

Margaret didn't say anything, letting him lead her back downstairs.

Back in the banquet hall, Matthew scanned the room. Sure enough, there was no sign of Elizabeth! That shameless woman!

Michael was still here, and she couldn't wait to have sex with another man!

Even if he didn't tell Michael about tonight, he wouldn't let Elizabeth keep deceiving Michael. He would make sure they broke up!

As a longtime friend, he couldn't just stand by and watch Michael be deceived.
