Chapter 310 Be Taken Away
Michael stood up from the couch, one hand supporting the elbow of his other arm, fingers resting on his chin as he paced slowly, deep in thought.
After a moment, he nodded slightly. "Yeah, it's possible."
He picked up his phone and dialed Rolf. "I need you to look into something. Find out when, where, and who took Louis. Do it now, no delays."
Rolf responded promptly from the other end. "Got it, Mr. Thomas."
"And also, check who Louis has been in contact with over the past three days."
"Understood, Mr. Thomas."
Michael hung up and looked at Eloise. "Eloise, are you really worried about Louis?"
Eloise nodded. "Yeah, Michael. I don't have many friends, and Louis has always been kind to me. I can feel it."
Michael handed her a coat. "Since you're not sleeping either, come with me to Whispering Pines Estates."
A glimmer of hope appeared in Eloise's eyes. "Are we going to find Nolan and Pearl? Didn't Elizabeth take them with her?"
Michael shook his head. "Honestly, I didn't ask. I'm just going to check."
Eloise quickly put on her coat and took his hand. "Alright, Michael, let's go quickly. If they really were left at the house, without Elizabeth and Dean, they might be too scared to sleep."
The Cullinan sped down the road at night.
When they arrived at Whispering Pines Estates, the security guard recognized Michael and let them through immediately.
Eloise couldn't help but comment, "The security here isn't as good as where you live."
Michael replied, "Not really. I registered here before."
Eloise's furrowed brow relaxed. "I see."
But she couldn't suppress her worry. "Michael, is Louis in danger?"
Michael shook his head. "This time, I was too slow. I didn't have time to investigate properly."
They got out of the car, and Eloise went to ring the doorbell.
Pearl and Nolan were indeed still there. They hadn't gone to bed yet, and Pearl opened the door for Eloise.
Michael followed Eloise into the living room.
Sarah brought them some juice. "The house staff have left for the day. Only the bodyguards are still here. Are you looking for Elizabeth?"
Eloise shook her head. "I'm here to see Nolan and Pearl."
Pearl, with red eyes, came over and took Eloise's hand. "My mom left. She won't be back tonight. I can't sleep."
Eloise knelt down. "It's okay. I'll stay with you."
Pearl hugged her neck gently. "Eloise, really? You're so kind."
Nolan's eyes were also red, but he stood silently to the side, watching them. He moved closer to Michael, turned his head away, and asked quietly, "Is my mom in danger?"
Michael didn't mind his rudeness and replied in a low voice, "I think she might be."
Nolan looked up at him, tears welling in his eyes.
Michael turned his head. "I'll figure something out."
Sarah asked, "Mr. Thomas, do you need me to pass a message to Elizabeth?"
Michael's voice was a bit hoarse. "No, I know she's not here. I just came to check on the kids. I was worried no one was taking care of them."
Sarah's impression of Michael improved even more. After all, she thought Michael didn't know these two kids were his.
Eloise took Pearl and Nolan upstairs.
The house staff had already prepared the guest rooms before leaving.
Michael, on the other hand, went straight to Elizabeth's room as if he owned the place.
Sarah watched him, wide-eyed, thinking, 'He's treating this place like his own home. I can only imagine what he and Elizabeth have done in that room.'
Michael entered the room, closed the door, and answered his phone.
"Mr. Thomas, two days ago, Louis got a call from a woman inviting him to dinner. He kept saying no, but then he suddenly got agitated and agreed to meet her. He hasn't been home since. The Cox family reported him missing. His parents are frantic, and there are missing person posters everywhere."
"Where did they go?"
"Louis's car disappeared in the suburbs. The surveillance only caught his car entering the area, then it vanished. We've checked the nearby restaurants."
Michael's patience was wearing thin. "Get to the point."
"We found the restaurant where Louis was last seen. But there's no surveillance footage there."
"Did any traffic cameras capture who left with him?"
"The person seemed prepared, covered up completely. We couldn't see their build or features. But it looked like a woman."
"Is that all?"
Rolf sounded a bit lost. "Sorry, Mr. Thomas, that's all we could find on short notice."
"Have others keep investigating. I need to know everything."
"Yes, Mr. Thomas."
At Valoria's capital airport, Elizabeth handed her handbag, containing her phone and documents, to Dean as soon as she exited the terminal.
Dean asked, "Elizabeth, what are you doing?"
Elizabeth looked serious. "Dean, keep these safe for me. I'm afraid they'll slow me down when I meet Silver King. The phone password is Nolan and Pearl's birthday."
Dean nodded. "Right, they'll probably confiscate your passport."
He handed her another phone. "This is my gaming phone. Take it, just in case."
Elizabeth took it, put it in her coat pocket, grabbed her suitcase, and walked out.
Dean watched from a distance as she was picked up by a group of men in black and got into a car.
He thought to himself, 'Elizabeth, I'll get you out of there as soon as I can.'
He turned on his phone, and Daniel's call came through immediately.
"Dean, have you arrived? Where's Elizabeth?"
"We just landed. Elizabeth was taken by their bodyguards."
"I have a question."
"Is it from your boss?"
"No, I just want to know, why didn't you wait for Mr. Thomas? He seemed eager to go with you."
"This isn't a vacation. Why bring so many people? Do you all want to go die together?"
"What do you mean? Is it that dangerous?"
"Daniel, think. Louis was kidnapped, not invited for coffee. The other party is Silver King. Ask Michael, he knows what kind of person Silver King is in Valoria. People who fall into his hands rarely survive. Elizabeth knew it would be dangerous and didn't want to drag Michael into it, so she didn't contact him."
Daniel could hardly believe it. "So Elizabeth is in great danger now? You better find a way to save her."
"Finally, something sensible from you."
"Why did they kidnap Louis?"
"I guess they want to force Elizabeth to treat Silver King."
After hanging up, Daniel called Michael and relayed everything Dean had told him.
Michael's expression grew serious. "Silver King? It's actually Silver King? He never gets involved in Celestria's affairs. How did he know Elizabeth can heal? Did Louis leak the information? Or is someone else colluding with Silver King?"
