Chapter 196 He Tore Off Her Shirt

Tanner was about fifty, a bit on the chubby side, and short, with glasses sitting low on his nose. His eyes behind those lenses sparkled with cunning and greed.

He got up and plopped down on the chair next to Elizabeth.

Being so close all of a sudden made Elizabeth super uncomfortable. But he was one of the big distributors she needed to win over. She took a deep breath and stayed put.

Tanner leaned his arm on the dining table and got his face even closer to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth lowered her head and, pretending to reach for her bag, subtly scooted to the side.

She pulled out some materials from her bag. "Mr. Hagen, here's a detailed intro to our products from the Jones Group. Take a look."

Tanner gently pushed the materials aside. "Ms. Jones, no rush. I've already checked out your company's products. I'm interested, which is why I asked you out."

Elizabeth suddenly regretted coming alone. "Mr. Hagen, since you're interested in our products, why don't we talk about a potential collaboration?"

Tanner smiled. "Sure. How do you want to discuss it? I'm all ears."

Elizabeth smiled politely. "Mr. Hagen, how about we order first? We can chat while we eat."

Tanner nodded. "Sounds good. Ms. Jones, you go ahead and order. I'm sure I'll like whatever you pick."

Elizabeth picked up the menu.

Tanner leaned over. "Let me see what this place has to offer."

Elizabeth quickly stood up and placed the menu in front of Tanner. "Mr. Hagen, you should order. As agreed, this meal's on me."

Tanner didn't expect her reaction and his face darkened a bit.

He pushed the menu aside. "Let's talk about the price then."

He glanced at Elizabeth, a bit annoyed. "Ms. Jones, standing so far away, do you want us to shout our conversation? Are you sure you can hear me?"

Hearing this, Elizabeth quickly pulled up a chair and sat down. "Mr. Hagen, the price quoted by our sales department is already the lowest we can offer."

She pushed the menu towards him again. "Mr. Hagen, please go ahead and order. It's already lunchtime, and I can't let you discuss business on an empty stomach."

Tanner chuckled. "Ms. Jones, you're so young and beautiful, a feast for the eyes. No matter how delicious the food is, it pales in comparison to you."

Elizabeth's face changed at Tanner's blatant words. "Mr. Hagen, let's talk about the price."

Tanner sat closer to Elizabeth. "Ms. Jones, speaking of price, let's discuss your company's sincerity. Who negotiates a deal with a fixed price? There's always room for negotiation."

Elizabeth asked, "What do you mean?"

Tanner stared directly at Elizabeth. "If the price doesn't drop, it's not entirely out of the question, but it'll depend on your sincerity, Ms. Jones."

Elizabeth said, "Mr. Hagen, we are very sincere about collaborating with Vanguard Enterprises Group."

Tanner laughed again. "Ms. Jones, you're very cute. Have you ever been in love? Are you married?"

Elizabeth was stunned. What did this have to do with business?

Tanner's eyes shamelessly lingered on Elizabeth's chest. "Ms. Jones, you're so beautiful and well-built. If your boyfriend lets you come out alone to discuss business, it seems he has given his tacit approval."

Elizabeth was completely confused. "Approval of what?"

Tanner chuckled, his fat hand reaching over to rest on Elizabeth's shoulder. "Ms. Jones, in business, you need to be flexible, not so rigid."

As his hand touched her shoulder, Elizabeth clenched her fist tightly, weighing the consequences of hitting him.

Before she could throw a punch, Tanner screamed and fell to the ground.

Elizabeth was startled and stood up in a panic.

Tanner was on the ground, clutching his stomach and groaning in pain.

He shouted, "Who? Who dared to kick me?"

He sat up, groping for his glasses. "Elizabeth! Did you bring a bodyguard? I'll have you know, this isn't over between us! As for the deal, you can forget about it!"

He was still cursing when Michael's bodyguard lifted him with one hand and dragged him out of the private room, closing the door.

Elizabeth turned around and bumped into Michael's solid chest.

Elizabeth looked at him in surprise. "Michael, when did you get here?"

Michael's eyes were blazing. "Elizabeth! You said we should keep our distance in public! But in a private room, behind closed doors, you let such a disgusting old man touch you? That greasy man, old enough to be your father! He touched you, and you didn't resist?"

Elizabeth looked at him defiantly. "Resist? I just wasn't as fast as you!"

Michael grabbed her wrist, forcing her closer to him. "Is finding distributors and partners worth this? Have you really stooped so low for money?"

Elizabeth struggled, but Michael's grip was too strong, she couldn't break free. "Michael, I've told you many times; don't interfere with my business!"

That sentence again!

Michael was about to lose his mind!

Elizabeth always knew how to drive him crazy!

Michael said, "Elizabeth! You shouldn't be short of money now, right? Don't you know what kind of person Tanner is? How dare you meet him alone? Or did you know exactly what kind of person he is and what would happen next, but you still came? Elizabeth, tell me, have you lost all your principles for the Jones Group's business?"

Elizabeth looked up at him and shouted, "Michael, I handle my own business, you manage your Stellar Enterprises, can't we stay out of each other's way? Have you forgotten you have a girlfriend?"

Michael snorted. "So what if I have a girlfriend? Tanner has a wife and several mistresses!" He asked viciously, "What? Do you want to be one of his women too?"

Elizabeth was infuriated by his insulting words. "Michael, do you have to talk to me like this?"

Michael was breathing heavily, equally enraged by Elizabeth.

He pushed her onto the sofa against the wall and tore off her shirt.

Michael's eyes were red.

He pounced on her, pressing his body against hers, his large hands roughly kneading her delicate skin.
