Chapter 301 Overwhelmed With Joy

In the coffee shop, Elizabeth sat across from Calla.

Elizabeth had her arms crossed and legs casually crossed, her posture relaxed. She looked disdainfully at Calla, who sat upright and tense.

Calla rubbed her coffee cup with both hands, glancing sideways at Elizabeth. "You didn't invite me here just for coffee, did you?"

Elizabeth leaned back in her chair and sneered. "At least you have some self-awareness."

Calla's expression was wary. "What do you want?"

Elizabeth suddenly stood up, walked over to Calla's seat, and swiftly grabbed her collar, delivering a hard slap across her face.

The force of the slap sent Calla sprawling onto the nearby sofa chair.

She clutched her face, sitting up in disbelief, staring at the fierce Elizabeth in front of her. "Elizabeth! Are you crazy? This is a public place!"

Elizabeth stood over her, looking down coldly. "Exactly because it's a public place, I feel safe. Who knows if you'll set another trap for me? Is the baby in your belly just another pawn to you? Do you have no feelings for the baby at all? Did you even discuss it with the father before deciding to kill your baby?"

Calla's face was a mix of shock and fear. "What are you talking about? I don't understand. That baby was killed by you! Didn't you find out later? Michael was devastated. Didn't he come after you for revenge?"

Elizabeth crossed her arms and leaned in closer. "Calla, do you think everyone is fooled by you? Because you've manipulated everyone, do you feel smug, thinking we're all idiots?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she swung her arm again. Another sharp slap echoed, and Calla's other cheek didn't escape.

A waiter approached, hearing the commotion. "Miss, please mind your behavior."

Elizabeth turned and apologized. "Sorry, my hand slipped."

Calla urgently called out. "Please call the police! Call the police! She is hurting me here."

Elizabeth had already sat back down, looking relaxed. "Calla, think carefully. Are you sure you want to call the police? Does the baby's father dare to hold me accountable?"

Calla's eyes widened in terror. "I'll tell Michael! I'll let him know you're a lunatic! You're violent!"

Elizabeth leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs, and nodded towards her. "Go ahead, tell him! Call him right now. Tell him the baby you were carrying was his nephew's!"

Calla was horrified. "What are you saying? How..."

Elizabeth sneered. "What? How do I know? Calla, it's one thing to make a mistake, but it's another to refuse to correct it and keep making more. That really pisses me off."

She stared at Calla's swollen face. "These two slaps are for the injustice I suffered because of you and for your innocent unborn child. As for Michael, I don't have the right to punish you on his behalf. He'll come to settle the score with you when he has time."

Calla trembled with fear but still managed to ask, "Michael... does he know?"

Her voice was shaky and cautious.

Elizabeth scoffed. "If he knew, do you think you'd still be sitting here in one piece?"

Calla's body slumped in defeat.

Elizabeth stood up and grabbed her bag. "Just because he doesn't know now doesn't mean he never will. Calla, take care of yourself."

With that, she strode out of the coffee shop.

Elizabeth wasn't someone to be easily manipulated. After being framed by Calla, she had been unable to prove her innocence, so she had stayed quiet.

Now that she knew Calla's schemes, there was no way she wouldn't strike back and teach Calla a lesson.

Moreover, if it weren't for Calla's constant meddling, causing her to misunderstand Michael repeatedly, she wouldn't have hurt him so many times.

Elizabeth drove straight to the Thomas mansion.

At this moment, she missed Michael terribly. She wanted to see him.

In the president's office at STellar Enterprises, Michael suddenly sneezed.

Daniel was confirming his schedule with him. "Mr. Thomas, do you have a cold?"

Michael shook his head. The sneeze had come out of nowhere.

Just then, the phone rang. It was Susan.

Michael suddenly felt nervous, fearing something had happened to Eloise. "What is it, Susan?"

"Mr. Thomas, Elizabeth is here."

Michael thought he had misheard. "Elizabeth?"

Susan found it odd.

"Mr. Thomas, should I tell Elizabeth you're at the office?"

Michael checked his watch. It was still early, far from the end of the workday. "Susan, have her wait there. I'll come to her."

"Okay, Mr. Thomas."

Susan hung up and went to find Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, please have a coffee. Mr. Thomas will be here soon."

Elizabeth stood up. "I'll go to STellar Enterprises to find him."

She didn't want to drink coffee or sit around waiting.

Eloise might still be there. If she came out, it would be awkward not knowing what to say.

Elizabeth decisively said goodbye to Susan and drove straight to STellar Enterprises.

On the way, Michael called her. "You came to find me?"

"Yes, I didn't expect a CEO to be so diligent at work."

"Just handling some minor things."

"Okay. I'm on my way to your office. I'll be there soon."

Michael was surprised. "You're coming to STellar Enterprises?"

Elizabeth, driving, teased, "Yes. What? Not happy to see me?"

Michael couldn't help but smile. Elizabeth rarely spoke to him so sweetly, even playfully.

He said softly, "Alright, I'll wait for you obediently."

Elizabeth found his words strange. What did he mean by "wait obediently"?

Daniel was still there, watching Michael's delighted expression as he took the call.

He stepped forward. "Mr. Thomas? Shall we continue?"

Michael, clearly in a good mood, said, "No rush. Push back anything that can be delayed. Clear the rest of my schedule for today."

Daniel couldn't help but mentally grumble. 'There is a high-level meeting in the afternoon, and everyone have been notified. Can we just cancel it?'

He dared to ask, "Mr. Thomas, why?"

Michael, full of pride, said, "Elizabeth is coming to see me."

Daniel took a deep breath. Elizabeth coming was such a big deal?

Dean often came to see him, and he never got this excited.

Seeing Michael's silly grin, Daniel thought he was overwhelmed with joy.

But Michael had spoken, so what could he do? He had to inform the secretaries to reschedule the meeting.

Just as he was about to leave, Michael called him back. "Daniel, wait."

Daniel turned. "Mr. Thomas?"

"Go buy something for me."
