Chapter 152 He Woke Up in a Man's Embrace

The private room was a cacophony of chatter, singing, and laughter.

Dean and Daniel found a quiet little corner to themselves.

They kept pouring drinks, clinking glasses, and downing them.

Daniel completely forgot about his important mission for the night.

He was lost in Dean's blue eyes staring back at him.

Dean was sitting right next to him, their bodies almost touching. Daniel could catch a faint whiff of his scent.

It wasn't the usual booze smell, or the sharp tang of tobacco, or the earthy musk of sweat. It was something else entirely, something that was just... Dean.

Daniel took a deep breath, letting the scent fill his lungs.

He felt like he was getting tipsy.

His hand holding the glass was already a bit shaky.

His gaze at Dean was getting a bit blurry.

He propped his head up with his hand, tilting his head to look at Dean. "Dean, the bottle's empty. Should we keep drinking?"

His face was already flushed from the alcohol.

Dean looked at him. "Hang on, I'll grab another bottle."

When Daniel drank the last bit of his wine, his hand already trembling, making his grip on the glass a bit unsteady.

Some wine trickled from the corner of his mouth, down his chin, along his neck, and into his shirt.

With each swallow, his Adam's apple bobbed.

Dean was a bit dazed. He shook his head.

Daniel finished his drink and handed the empty glass to him. "Dean, I'm done. Pour me another."

Dean had just taken his glass when Daniel, tilting his head back slightly, suddenly slumped against him, falling into Dean's side.

Dean quickly caught him.

He held Daniel with one hand and slowly placed his own glass back on the table with the other.

Dean shook his head, the room spinning slightly. He'd had more than his fair share, and the buzz was making him dizzy. Leaning back against the booth, he closed his eyes to rest.

Daniel leaned into his arms, still mumbling, "Dean, pour the drink."

In the king-size room of the Eclipse Hotel, sunlight streamed in through the gaps in the curtains.

The quilt that should have been on the bed had somehow ended up on the floor.

The two male bodies on the bed were tightly wrapped around each other, sound asleep.

Daniel was nestled in Dean's arms.

Dean's leg was draped over Daniel's waist.

Daniel stirred a bit and slowly opened his eyes, still groggy.

He rubbed his eyes, looking confused, and stared at the arm wrapped around him in disbelief.

This arm was much more muscular than his. It was covered in thick hair, looking powerful.

He gently moved the arm and leg off him.

He quietly got out of bed, using the light in the room to see Dean lying there.

He widened his eyes and covered his mouth, not daring to make a sound.

He picked up his clothes from the floor, put them on in the outer room, and slipped out the door.

He left the hotel, hailed a cab, went back to his place, and texted Michael.

Just after sending three messages, his phone rang.

It was Dwayne calling.

He quickly answered, and Dwayne's voice came through. "Daniel, are you sober? Is Dean still with you? Did he go home?"

Daniel stammered, "I don't know. I'm at home."

Dwayne's loud voice boomed through the phone, "You went home? Last night when we were leaving the bar, you were all over Dean and wouldn't let go. We had no choice but to get a room for you two at the hotel across the street and put you both in bed. So, did anything happen between you two?"

Daniel's head throbbed even more.

What kind of friend was Dwayne? He just threw him under the bus like that.

Dwayne's voice dropped to a whisper, "Daniel, does Dean really like men? Did he do anything to you?"

Daniel didn't want to continue this conversation. "Dwayne, I have a headache. I'm going to hang up and rest for a bit."

Dwayne was still curious. "No, Daniel, I want to know the details."

Daniel ignored his chatter and decisively hung up the phone.

He lay on the bed, his head spinning.

Certain fragments from last night invaded his mind, but he didn't want to recall them.

He shook his head hard, trying to shake off those memories.

In the study at the Thomas Villa, Michael glanced at the clock once again. It was already ten o'clock.

Daniel still hadn't sent a message.

Michael frowned, continuously speculating in his mind.

Was last night a bust?

Did Dean find out?

Why wasn't Daniel answering his phone?

Michael couldn't help but worry about Daniel.

Suddenly, he received a message from Daniel.

Daniel: [Mr. Thomas, I'm sorry, I drank too much last night. I woke up late today. I have a terrible headache. My whole body hurts. I need to take the morning off.]

Daniel: [Also, Dean is not Elizabeth's boyfriend or lover. I'll tell you the reason later.]

Daniel: [PS: Dean is a hacker. And a very good one.]

Michael looked at the messages from Daniel. He thought, 'Daniel is doing a great job as a spy.'

In one night, Daniel got so much useful information.

He replied to Daniel: [No need to take the morning off. Today is the weekend. Great job. I'll give you a bonus this month.]

Whispering Pines Estates.

Elizabeth didn't want to get up, so she slept in.

It wasn't until her stomach growled with hunger that she reluctantly got out of bed.

First, she went to check on the kids.

Pearl was playing with dolls. Nolan was building with blocks.

Elizabeth didn't disturb them and just walked downstairs.

Nancy saw Elizabeth come out and she immediately went to prepare the food.

Elizabeth walked up and gently hugged Nancy from behind. "Mom, let's hire a nanny. That way, you won't be so tired."

Nancy smiled and said, "I don't feel tired. I just like doing housework. This is where our family lives. I like to keep it clean and beautiful. If you hire a nanny and she does all the work, what will I do? Pearl and Nolan are still so young. It's not suitable to have strangers in the house."

Elizabeth leaned on her back.

"Okay, Mom, I'll listen to you. I just don't want you to be too tired."

Nancy brought the food to the table.

Elizabeth sat down to dine, while Nancy sat beside her, keeping her company.

"Elizabeth, did you see Dean last night?"

"No, why?" Elizabeth said while eating her bread.

"Last night when I wokr up, I didn't see Dean come back. I hope nothing happened to him. Should you call and check?"
