Chapter 428 Exclusive Castle
Pearl reached out her small hand. "Alright then."
Michael quickly took her hand. The group walked towards the stone castle.
The person in charge opened the gates to the castle amusement park.
They looked up and saw a sign at the entrance of the stone castle that read: [A Castle Amusement Park Just for Pearl and Nolan.]
Pearl's face lit up with excitement. She grabbed Nolan's hand. "Nolan, we have our own castle!"
This time, Nolan didn't pull away.
He looked over at Michael and softly said, "Thanks!"
Michael swallowed hard, feeling a rush of excitement.
Nolan had spoken to him voluntarily!
He followed behind Nolan and Pearl, happily playing with them for several hours.
Compared to Daniel's happiness, Dean seemed a bit worried. He was concerned that Elizabeth might be upset.
Daniel reassured him, "The kids are having a blast. Elizabeth won't be mad. She's not unreasonable."
Michael followed the kids, busy taking photos to capture their bright smiles and joyful moments.
As it got darker, Michael had the driver follow their car back to Whispering Pines Estates.
When they reached the front door, Dean noticed the lights were on in the living room and the yard. He exchanged a glance with Nolan.
"Nolan, do you think your mom is back?"
Nolan nodded. "Maybe. Didn't she call you?"
Dean shook his head. "No. Could she be planning a surprise for us?"
Nolan bit his lip. "Do you think she'll be mad?"
Dean comforted him. "No, she won't. She's your mom. She wants you to have fun."
Michael had already seen Elizabeth's figure in the living room. He stood outside, not intending to go in.
Dean and the kids didn't dare invite him in at that moment.
Pearl waved at him. "Bye, Dad."
Michael, pleasantly surprised, smiled and waved back at her and Nolan. "Goodbye. See you soon."
He whispered to Pearl, "I'll do my best to make your mom forgive me sooner."
Pearl patted his shoulder. "Good luck with that!"
They watched Michael's car drive away. Dean led them inside, opening the door.
Susan helped them open the glass door.
"Elizabeth, they're back."
Elizabeth, holding Francis, walked over. "Did you have fun?"
Nolan and Pearl looked at Elizabeth's face, exchanged a glance, and quickly went to her side.
"Mom!"
Elizabeth sat on the couch. "Don't come too close to Mom just yet."
Nolan and Pearl immediately tensed up, exchanging worried looks. "Is Mom mad?"
Nolan stepped forward. "Mom..."
Elizabeth looked up at him. "Nolan, take Pearl to change clothes and wash your hands. Rest a bit and get ready for dinner. Don't come too close to Mom. Francis has a runny nose. I don't want you to catch it. So, for the next couple of days, stay away from Francis, okay?"
Nolan and Pearl secretly breathed a sigh of relief and quickly agreed. "Okay, Mom."
Elizabeth glanced at Daniel beside Dean. "Mr. Taylor, would you like to stay for dinner?"
Dean cautiously asked, "Elizabeth, is it really okay for him to stay?"
"It's just dinner. We're not that stingy."
Dean immediately felt relieved and discreetly tugged on Daniel's sleeve. "See, I told you, Elizabeth wouldn't take it out on you. You're you. Your boss is your boss."
Daniel sincerely thanked her. "Thank you, Elizabeth."
Elizabeth nodded. "You're welcome. Thanks for helping with the kids."
After dinner, Daniel said goodbye. Elizabeth had Susan take Francis to bed. She stayed in the living room, chatting with the kids.
Pearl spoke softly. "Mom, I have to confess. We saw Dad today."
Nolan hung his head. "Mom, I couldn't resist the temptation. I betrayed you."
Seeing the guilt on their faces, Elizabeth's heart softened. She gently stroked their heads and said tenderly, "Pearl, Nolan, I don't want to impose my issues with your dad on you. The problems between your dad and me are ours to solve. Your dad wronged me, and he'll work to make amends. I'll decide whether to forgive him."
"But he's still your father. If he wants to be good to you and you want to accept it, follow your own feelings. Don't worry about me. I don't want you to suffer because of our issues. Your childhood should be happy and carefree. I just want you to grow up healthy and happy!"
Pearl and Nolan hugged her tightly. "Mom!"
Elizabeth patted their backs. "Alright, you played all day and must be tired. Go take a bath and get ready for bed."
Nolan was curious. "Mom, how did you know we went out today?"
Pearl added, "Yeah, Mom, I told you we saw Dad, and you didn't seem surprised."
Elizabeth smiled and waved a Fantasy City Amusement Park flyer from the coffee table. "I saw this when I got home. Do you think I wouldn't know which company's project this is?"
Nolan and Pearl saw the big "ST" logo on it and said nothing more, obediently going upstairs to bathe.
Elizabeth had a long sleep. When she woke up, she fed Francis and then called Sarah.
"Sarah, I'm back."
Sarah was thrilled to hear she was back. "That's great, Elizabeth! I've been so bored at home. Wait for me, I'll come get you, and we can go shopping."
Elizabeth smiled lazily. "Okay. I'll wait at home. You pick a restaurant, and I'll treat you to lunch."
Sarah drove Elizabeth to the shopping district. They bought lots of spring clothes.
At noon, Sarah took her to a restaurant hidden in an alley.
Elizabeth curiously looked around. "Sarah, this place is hard to find. How did you discover it?"
Sarah set the table. "David brought me here before. Many seasonal dishes need to be reserved in advance. Let's see if we get lucky. The new Atlantic Salmon is very popular. I wonder if they have it today."
The waiter, standing by to take their order, said, "Miss, today's Atlantic Salmon is fully booked. We don't have any left."
Sarah bit her lip. "Okay. I wasn't craving it that much, but now that you mentioned it, I really want it."
