Chapter 551 Bewitching Fragrance

Cordelia stood in front of Michael, her cheeks flushed pink, looking up at him shyly.

"Michael, do you wanna take a shower too?"

Michael, feeling hot and uncomfortable, nodded and started undressing as he walked towards the bathroom.

Seeing this, Cordelia's cheeks turned even redder. She pulled back the covers and lay down on the bed, whispering, "I'll wait for you."

Michael turned back and said, "You don't have to wait for me. You're tired, you should sleep first."

He went into the bathroom, and when he came out, he was wearing a bathrobe.

Michael was drying his hair and glanced at the bed.

Cordelia was still waiting for him. Seeing him come out, she sat up quickly, "Michael, let me help you dry your hair."

"No need. You're still injured, and you've been tired all day. Be careful not to hurt yourself. You should rest."

Cordelia had already gotten out of bed and grabbed the hairdryer.

"You said it yourself, I've been standing all day. Drying your hair is nothing."

Cordelia turned on the hairdryer and started drying Michael's hair.

Michael took the hairdryer from her, "No need. My neck isn't good, I can't keep my head down for too long."

Cordelia bit her lip and clutched her dress. After a few seconds, she timidly asked, "Michael, do you dislike me because I'm short?"

Michael was drying his hair, the hairdryer making a loud noise. He didn't hear Cordelia's question at all.

He turned off the hairdryer and asked, "What did you just say?"

Cordelia looked up at him, "I asked if you dislike me because I'm short."

Michael turned the hairdryer back on, "Cordelia, stop overthinking things."

Soon, his hair was dry. Michael put the hairdryer away and helped Cordelia back into bed.

"Alright. Now, I won't disturb you anymore. Go to sleep."

Cordelia looked at him longingly, "Michael, won't you sleep with me?"

Michael gently removed her hand from his arm, "I'll watch you sleep. Once you're asleep, I'll leave."

Cordelia whispered, "Can you lie next to me?"

Michael shook his head, "No, I might fall asleep if I lie down."

"If you fall asleep, then you fall asleep. Just sleep here with me."

"Cordelia, your shoulder injury isn't healed yet. I sleep poorly, I might accidentally hurt you."

"Michael, my wound has healed. It doesn't hurt anymore."

Cordelia moved closer to Michael, reaching for the tie of his bathrobe.

Michael immediately grabbed her hand, "Cordelia, Victor just passed away. There will be a lot of things to handle. You should rest."

Thinking of Victor, the blush on Cordelia's face disappeared. She nodded gently, "Alright. I understand."

She looked into Michael's eyes, "But, Michael, Dad must have told you, he wants us to have a child soon."

Michael frowned, looking troubled, "Cordelia, do you mind that I have issues in that area?"

Cordelia was confused, "What area?"

Michael hesitated, embarrassed, "As a man. Since I lost my memory, I can't get an erection with unfamiliar women."

"Like you, Cordelia, you're so beautiful, any man would want to make love to you. But I can't. I think I have a problem. Cordelia, do you mind?"

Cordelia immediately reassured him, "Of course not! Michael, how could I mind?"

Michael looked down, "But I'm afraid I can't make you happy. What a normal woman should have, you can't have. Cordelia, do you really not mind?"

Cordelia shook her head, "Of course not. You said it yourself, it's only with unfamiliar women. As we spend more time together, you'll get used to me and start to like me."

She shyly fiddled with her dress, "Then you'll want to make love to me, right?"

Michael helped her lie back down, "I hope so."

Cordelia still didn't want to sleep. She grabbed his hand, "Michael, if I can't have your child, Dad won't let you go."

Michael tucked her in, "If it comes to that, we can try IVF. But it will be hard on you, Cordelia."

He turned off the light and said softly in the dark, "Sleep now."

The night breeze lifted the curtains, and moonlight streamed into the bedroom.

Michael stood up and looked at the scented candle in the incense burner. It was almost burned out.

In the darkness, Cordelia seemed a bit nervous, "Michael, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just find it strange. The scent in the bedroom tonight is different from what you usually use, it's stronger."

In the dark, Cordelia's voice sounded a bit shaky, "Maybe it's because it's a new batch. The last one just ran out. They replaced it today. If you don't like this scent, I'll have them change it back."

"It's fine. I'm not particularly sensitive to scents. It's late, no need to bother. Tomorrow is fine."

"Okay. Michael, I'll do as you say."

"Alright. Sleep now."

The last bit of the scented candle burned out. The bedroom was filled with Cordelia's steady breathing.

Michael quietly stood up and walked out the door.

Early the next morning, Cordelia arrived at the hospital accompanied by bodyguards and maids.

The Murphy family was a powerful presence in Majestic City. Cordelia was famously beautiful.

As soon as she arrived at the hospital, someone went to inform the director. The director immediately came with the hospital secretary to greet her.

"Ms. Murphy, it's an honor to have you here today. Why didn't you let us know in advance? We could have welcomed you at the entrance."

Cordelia didn't expect the director to greet her. She felt a bit annoyed, thinking it would have been better to come alone discreetly.

After all, the question she wanted to ask was difficult to bring up. She took out her sunglasses from her bag, hesitating whether to put them on.

"Patrick, I just have a small issue to consult with the doctor here. Please go ahead with your work, don't worry about me."

Patrick was good at reading people. Seeing Cordelia's demeanor, he guessed her question was either about urology or gynecology. Following her around would indeed make her uncomfortable.

"Ms. Murphy, I'll have the secretary guide you."

He called the secretary over, "Please accompany Ms. Murphy. Help her with whatever she needs."

Cordelia left the bodyguards and maids at the entrance of the outpatient building and went to the infertility clinic alone, feeling embarrassed.

Glenn had just started his shift. Seeing the commotion at the entrance, he casually asked a colleague, "Is there a VIP patient today?"

The colleague replied, "I heard it's the Murphy family's daughter, she's gone to the second floor."

Glenn wasn't interested at first, but hearing it was the Murphy family's daughter, his eyes widened.
