Chapter 167 If I Can't Get His Love, Spend His Money

The secretary walked in and handed him a black card. "Mr. Anderson, this is from Mr. Thomas."

Matthew took the card helplessly, threw on his suit, and left the office.

He had to comfort himself, 'Well, shopping beats working any day, right?'

The driver dropped Calla off at the entrance of Cedar Street.

She had a delicate face, and she was tall and slender.

Calla wore a big, wide-brimmed sun hat, leaning casually against the car.

A beautiful woman with a luxury car? Yeah, she turned heads.

She couldn't help but feel a little giddy thinking about Michael joining her for a shopping spree later.

She was already picturing them strolling down the shopping street together.

Michael was so handsome, tall, and strong, with impeccable taste.

With him by her side, she'd be the envy of every woman around.

While Calla was lost in her daydream, Matthew showed up.

He stood behind Calla and gently called out, "Dr. Griffin?"

Calla turned around and saw him.

She looked puzzled. "Who are you? Do I know you?"

Matthew smiled. "Hello, Dr. Griffin. I'm Matthew, the CFO of STellar Enterprises."

Calla frowned slightly. "The CFO of STellar Enterprises? Do you know me?"

Matthew smiled again. "I don't know you personally. I just know Michael's driver and his car."

Calla ignored him, her eyes scanning the road for Michael's car.

But the black Rolls-Royce she was expecting never showed up.

Matthew spoke up again, "Are you waiting for Michael? He won't be coming."

Calla couldn't believe it. Michael had personally told her to wait here. "Why?"

Matthew smiled. "The company's swamped, and he doesn't have time. So, he specifically arranged for me to go shopping with you. He also said anything you like, he'll cover."

Calla's face turned cold.

So, she had overestimated her importance to Michael once again.

She looked at Matthew with disdain. "The company's busy, and he's busy, so why are you free?"

Matthew could only offer a smooth compliment, saying, "Shopping with a beautiful woman is never a waste of time. I actually fought for this opportunity!"

Hearing this, Calla's lips curved slightly.

Well, she had already told Michael she wanted to go shopping. And she was already here. It wouldn't make sense not to buy something. Besides, with Michael footing the bill, why not?

With that in mind, she grabbed her handbag from the car, lifted her head slightly, and walked into a high-end clothing store.

Matthew followed behind her.

Calla entered the store and directly told the clerk, "Bring out your latest seasonal styles. Get me a few sets in my size."

Seeing Calla in her high-end designer outfit, and then looking at the striking Matthew behind her, the sharp store clerk immediately put on a big smile. "Sir, Miss, please have a seat. We'll bring the clothes right away."

Soon, several clerks brought out the latest seasonal clothes for Calla and gestured that she could go to the fitting room to try on the clothes.

Calla stood up, her face blank. "No need, just wrap them all up. I'll take everything."

The clerk's face lit up. "Sure thing. We'll wrap them up right away. Will you be paying by card or cash?"

Calla pointed at Matthew. "He'll pay."

Matthew stepped forward to swipe the card, then obsequiously helped by picking up the shopping bags. Calla continued shopping in several stores in this manner, but she felt increasingly bored.

Behind her, Matthew's hands were loaded with shopping bags. He was panting heavily as he followed her. "Haven't you had enough shopping? Aren't you tired?" he asked.

Calla walked elegantly in her high heels ahead of him. "I'm not tired. If you feel tired, you can call Michael."

Hearing this, Matthew immediately shut up about being tired.

She had already had a one-night stand with Anthony. If Michael didn't find out, it would be fine. But if he did, he would surely kick her out.

Anyway, he had no feelings for her. If she couldn't get his affection, she might as well spend his money.

After all, he had so much money, and buying these things was just a drop in the bucket for him.

Even if one day he got tired of her and wanted to break up, given his generous nature, he wouldn't hold these few clothes against her.

With this in mind, Calla walked confidently into one luxury store after another. She bought a ton of clothes, shoes, bags, and cosmetics along the way.

Unfortunately, Matthew only had two hands and couldn't carry any more.

Calla stood aside with her arms crossed, looking at him indifferently. "Do you need me to call someone to help?"

Matthew sat on a bench outside a store, placing all the shopping bags on the ground. He was panting heavily from exhaustion. In the hot weather, his head was already covered in sweat. "You should have said so earlier. Look how tired I am."

Calla took out her phone and called for help. She couldn't be bothered to look at Matthew the whole time.

There was a jewelry store on the way, and Calla walked straight in. She felt that she didn't have many decent pieces of jewelry, so she stood in front of the counter, looking at each piece.
