Chapter 550 Hard to Resist

Elizabeth covered her face and started crying softly.

Juan, who had been lounging comfortably, was startled by her reaction. He quickly put his feet down and moved closer to her.

"Elizabeth, come on! I haven't even said anything yet! Why are you crying already? If someone sees this, they'll think I did something to you."

Elizabeth looked up, her eyes blurred with tears. "Mr. Stewart, you had me brought here just to tell me this?"

"Don't be so desperate! There's still room to maneuver! Didn't we say from the start? If you don't leave, Michael will remain under someone's control. If you leave, Gerald won't be able to use you against him. You've known him for so long, don't you understand his character? How many people in this world dare to threaten him?"

"That was before. Michael used to be at the top, commanding everything. Now, he has nothing, living under someone else's roof. Things have changed."

Juan chuckled lightly. "He has nothing, and you still won't give up on him?"

Elizabeth gave a bitter smile. "It's all my fault. If I hadn't been so foolish back then, he wouldn't have lost everything."

Juan looked out the window, squinting slightly. "There's another way."

Elizabeth quickly asked, "What way? Mr. Stewart, can you stop hesitating and just tell me?"

Juan's gaze shifted to the crowd outside. "Kill Gerald."

Elizabeth thought she misheard. "What?"

Juan turned back to her. "I said, kill Gerald. Isn't he the source of all this? He's the one who erased Michael's memories of you. He's the one forcing Michael to work for the Murphy family. If he dies, won't Michael be free?"

Elizabeth stared at him, speechless.

Kill someone? She couldn't even fathom it.

Juan sighed. "I'm not asking you to kill him yourself. Look how scared you are."

He instructed the driver, "Open the door." Then he turned to Elizabeth. "Alright, you've been in my car long enough. Get out."

Elizabeth got out of the car, leaving in a daze.

That evening, in the main hall of Murphy Castle.

Gerald dismissed everyone, leaving only Michael behind.

"Michael, Victor's funeral is over. You've had a tough day."

Michael waited quietly for him to continue.

Gerald cleared his throat. "Michael, you know I have many lovers outside, but Victor was my only son. Now that he's gone, my estate can't go unclaimed."

Michael lowered his head. "You still have Cordelia. She's your daughter."

"The Murphy family rules state that the estate passes to male heirs only. Unless you can ensure Cordelia gives birth to a Murphy family heir, the Murphy family will no longer have a place for me, Gerald. My vast estate will be divided among other branches of the Murphy family."

He walked up to Michael. "I know Elizabeth is still in Majestic City. Michael, I don't want to force you. I'll give you some time. Cordelia is so beautiful and sweet; you'll fall in love with her and willingly have children with her."

Michael's eyes flickered at the mention of Elizabeth's name.

Gerald noticed everything. He smiled slightly and patted Michael's shoulder. "Cordelia is waiting for you. Go back and rest with her."

Michael returned to his quarters, deep in thought.

Cordelia was waiting for him at the door. As soon as she saw him, she rushed to him, linking her arm with his. "Michael, you're finally back."

Michael quietly withdrew his arm. "Your dad doesn't want you waiting too long. Go get some rest."

Cordelia felt his resistance but followed him quietly, speaking softly. "You've been on your feet all day and haven't eaten much. I asked the chef to make some porridge. How about a bowl to warm your stomach before bed?"

Michael pressed his long-aching stomach and replied, "Alright."

Cordelia was delighted that he didn't reject her suggestion. "Okay, I'll have it brought up right away."

They went to the dining room, where the servants had already prepared the porridge and some delicate side dishes.

Michael picked up his utensils and took a few bites. The food was light and refreshing. He finished the bowl of porridge with the side dishes.

Cordelia was pleased to see Michael eating well.

She had already heard from the servants about Gerald's conversation with Michael.

She had worried that Michael would resent her, but he seemed calm and had a good appetite.

She lowered her head, thinking that maybe, after these days together, Michael might accept being with her.

After all, everyone had always told Cordelia that she was so beautiful and charming that anyone who met her would eventually fall in love with her.

After eating, Michael stood up, and Cordelia followed him upstairs.

He walked towards his usual guest room.

Cordelia called out softly, "Michael."

Michael turned to look at her, as if asking what was wrong.

Cordelia dismissed the maids and walked over, taking his hand. "Michael, I'm feeling down. Can you stay with me?"

Michael thought for a moment and followed her into the master bedroom.

Cordelia leaned against him, her head down, a satisfied smile on her lips.

The maids had already prepared the bed and left. The bedroom was now just the two of them.

On the bedside table was Cordelia's silk nightgown. She picked it up and headed to the bathroom.

"Michael, wait for me. I'm going to take a shower. I've been outside all day and feel dirty."

Michael didn't say anything, just nodded quietly.

Cordelia smiled and went into the bathroom.

The sound of running water filled the room.

Michael walked to Cordelia's vanity, where a mini incense burner was placed.

She had inherited Gerald's love for scents and sometimes lit scented candles to help her sleep.

Tonight, the incense burner was already lit.

The thoughtful maids must have lit it in advance, knowing she might have trouble sleeping.

All the windows were tightly closed, and no breeze could enter the room.

Michael felt his breathing becoming difficult. He took off his jacket and sat on the bed, still feeling hot.

He stood up and opened a small gap in the window, then pulled the curtains back.

Cordelia had finished her shower. She gently pushed open the bathroom door and walked to Michael's side.

He looked up and saw her in a sheer, delicate nightgown, her curves clearly visible.

Michael admitted that, from a normal man's perspective, Cordelia was indeed a stunning beauty.

She was gorgeous, had a perfect figure, and a gentle personality. Any man seeing her like this would find it hard to resist.
