Chapter 354 Denunciation

Matthew had no clue about the video making the rounds online.

But to Elizabeth, it felt like he was calling on Michael's orders to cut her off.

Her first instinct was to explain that the woman in the video wasn't her.

But then she thought, 'Why should I explain anything to Matthew?'

They weren't even close! Was she supposed to explain to every single person who saw the video that it wasn't her?

Though she felt frustrated, she wasn't going to waste her time on such futile efforts.

She was just angry that Michael saw the video and didn't even bother to ask her if it was her. He immediately judged her, not giving her a chance to explain, and sent his friend to condemn her.

Where was her dignity in all this?

Even if he wanted to distance himself from her, he could have at least called her himself.

Did he find her so disgusting after watching the video that he was ashamed to even call her?

Elizabeth felt a chill run through her.

She had thought that even if the whole world misunderstood her, at least Michael and Dean would believe her. Clearly, she had overestimated him.

He never trusted her, did he?

Just like when Calla had a miscarriage and his mother passed away, he always saw her as the culprit.

What was she hoping for?

She hadn't even told Sarah, but deep down, she had a small hope that Michael would ask to remarry her. Maybe then she would feel that he still cared for her.

Even if it was just to give the kids a complete family, she would have agreed.

But now, it seemed like when he said he wanted her to give him a child as compensation, he really just wanted the child.

Once she gave birth, her role would be over.

Their relationship would be completely over.

As for the past, those intimate moments were just physical loneliness, driven by hormones, and had nothing to do with love.

Elizabeth felt like her throat was stuffed with cotton. She wanted to refute Matthew's words, but it was hard to speak.

After all, almost everyone believed the naked woman in the video was her.

Matthew, hearing her silence, said coldly, "Elizabeth, you know you're in the wrong, don't you? Let me tell you, my words are Michael's words. Don't think you're the victim here."

"Michael might have been fooled by you before, but now he knows exactly who you are. If you have any sense, stay away from him and don't call him. It's better for both of you!"

Elizabeth felt a coldness from head to toe. She took a deep breath, trying to control her trembling body, and said slowly, "Matthew, this is between me and him."

"If I've wronged Michael, he can call me himself. It's not your place to interfere. What I do is my business. You have no right to judge me. Besides, I haven't done anything..."

Matthew hung up before she could finish.

Elizabeth collapsed onto the couch, feeling like her heart was cracking into tiny pieces. Those cracks were slowly connecting, and with a slight tap, they would shatter completely.

The PR manager's office at Stellar Enterprises.

Margaret anxiously speculated about how Michael would punish her while scrolling through online comments about the scandalous video.

Meanwhile, countless people were watching the video.

Those who knew Elizabeth naturally assumed it was her.

As the CEO of The Jones Group, Elizabeth often appeared in the media. So, many people recognized her.

The video had been forcibly taken down by cyber police for its explicit content, but the comments section was still flooded. Some comments even included screenshots from the video.

All the comments were attacking Elizabeth.

[Isn't she pregnant? How dare she have sex so boldly? Isn't she afraid of a miscarriage? Can doctors explain if this is safe during pregnancy?]

[To be fair, Elizabeth is really beautiful! If it weren't for her pregnant belly, her figure would be perfect! That guy is really lucky!]

[Isn't she the CEO of The Jones Group? Doesn't she have enough money? Why does she need to be with a man at night? Stop criticizing her, she must have her reasons.]

[Didn't she get divorced? Whose child is it? She's so promiscuous, she might not even know who the father is.]

[Are you sure it's about money? A young divorced woman might just be lonely.]

[By the way, didn't that singer, Carter, say Elizabeth was his ideal girlfriend? Where are Carter's fans? Go @ your idol and let him see the real face of his ideal girlfriend.]

[Damn! Don't slander Carter! He only saw her surface! Who knew she was such a faker!]

[Elizabeth looks so pure, but she's actually so wild.]

[Look at how desperate and satisfied she looks. That guy must be having a great time.]

[Are you jealous?]

[Fuck! Even if she's pregnant, you can't deny her beauty! Who wouldn't want to have sex with a beautiful woman?]

In the office of the tech director at The Jones Group, Dean was fuming as he read the comments, his eyes red with anger.

These people thought they could say anything behind a keyboard, without anyone seeing their true faces.

He absolutely couldn't let Elizabeth see these comments. Who knows how upset she would be.

Her due date was approaching, and if she got depressed, it would be a big problem.

Elizabeth stayed home today because she wasn't feeling well and because of the scandalous video. She decided to rest at home.

She had given the nanny the day off. The bodyguard wasn't in the main house either.

At this moment, she was alone in the empty house. Afraid that she would overthink and constantly check her phone if she stopped, she decided to keep herself busy.

She called a private investigator to look into Octavia's true identity.

Margaret hated her so much, yet her cousin Octavia looked so much like her. There had to be something going on.

Who would tolerate seeing their rival in love's face every day?

Unless there was another motive.
