Chapter 283 Moaning Sound on the Phone
Michael listened to Elizabeth's torrent of accusations, feeling like he was missing some crucial piece of information.
He furrowed his brow, trying to figure out what it was, but his mind was a mess.
Shaking his head, he caught onto a key point.
"Are you jealous of Calla?" he asked.
Hearing this, Elizabeth froze for a moment, then turned away, ignoring him.
Michael hugged her from behind and said,"I'm glad. If you're jealous, it means you care about me. You don't want to share me with another woman, right?"
Before Elizabeth could respond, her phone rang. She picked it up, and Michael, standing right behind her, clearly heard her sweetly say, "Carter."
As she spoke, she glanced back at Michael with a sideways look, almost as if to provoke him, "See, the man you have to share me with is calling."
Carter said, "Elizabeth, I'm at Sarah's wedding, but I can't find you. There are so many people here. Where are you?"
Elizabeth replied patiently, "Carter, I'm not in the hall. I wasn't feeling well, so I stepped out. Wait for me, I'll be right there. I still want to hear you sing live!"
Carter happily agreed, "Okay, Elizabeth. I'll wait for you."
However, Elizabeth suddenly let out a soft cry.
It was so seductive, like a moan of pleasure.
Carter paused and asked, "Elizabeth, what are you doing?"
Elizabeth elbowed Michael, who was deliberately teasing her. "Nothing," she lied, forcing a laugh. "Just got up too quickly and felt a bit dizzy."
At this, Michael chuckled behind her.
Carter's voice was full of concern. "Elizabeth, are you overworking yourself again? Remember to rest and eat well."
Elizabeth smiled and replied, "Okay." Then she let out another cry of pain.
Carter asked, "Elizabeth, who's with you? I..."
Before he could finish, Elizabeth quickly ended the call.
Michael had bitten her shoulder hard, and Elizabeth pushed him away forcefully, glaring at him. "Michael!" she shouted.
Michael leaned casually against the wall, one leg bent leisurely.
He said, "I'm right here. Why are you yelling so loud? People might think I was really rough with you!"
Elizabeth pointed at him, continuing her accusations. "Did you do that on purpose?"
Michael, feigning innocence, said, "What did I do? I just gently touched your nipple. How was I supposed to know you'd be so sensitive and moan out loud?"
Elizabeth was so angry she couldn't speak. "You!"
Michael slowly walked over, taking her hand in his. He kissed her fingers lightly, then pulled her into his arms, his expression suddenly serious.
He said, "Elizabeth, you can't see other men. You can only be mine."
Elizabeth was startled by his intensity for a moment.
But she then pushed him away and said, "You're dreaming!"
She adjusted her clothes, fixed her hair, and walked out the door.
Michael stood there, hands on his hips, helplessly watching her leave.
He sat on the bed and made a phone call. "What should I be aware of when a woman is pregnant?"
The person on the other end was shocked, probably never expecting Michael to care about such things.
He respectfully answered, "Mr. Thomas, when a woman is pregnant, her hormone levels change. She'll be sleepy, easily tired, sensitive, and prone to anger."
Michael asked, "What should I do?"
"You need to..." The person trailed off, searching for the right words.
After all, everyone knew Michael was usually the one being taken care of.
Asking him to accommodate a pregnant woman? It seemed impossible.
But the person still answered seriously, "Make sure she gets enough high-quality sleep and stays in a good mood. She shouldn't get angry or too excited."
Hearing this, Michael considered the feasibility of this.
If necessary, he would try to accommodate her in the coming days.
As for the conversation between Mary and Elizabeth before Mary's death, he could ask about it later.
After all, the dead couldn't come back to life.
Michael then called Matthew, "How do you make a woman happy?"
Hearing this, Matthew laughed, "Michael, where have you been? David came looking for you to drink, but you weren't there."
Michael said, "Answer my question first."
Matthew stopped laughing and thought seriously. He said, "I'm not great at making women happy either. Maybe try giving her gifts? Women usually like receiving gifts, right?"
He asked quietly, "Michael, are you going to give Elizabeth a gift?"
However, the call abruptly ended.
Matthew stared at the ended call screen, eyes wide.
At the party, Carter sat next to Elizabeth.
Sarah and David had specifically instructed the guests not to go crazy over Carter's presence. So, among the guests, Carter's fans were trying hard to contain their excitement, hoping Carter would notice them.
Matthew sneakily took a photo of Carter and Elizabeth talking and sent it to Michael: [A handsome couple, right? They look great together.]
Then he put his phone away, feeling smug.
He thought, 'Let's see if you show up now.'
As Sarah waved to Carter from the stage, he leaned in and whispered something to Elizabeth, who smiled in response.
Then Carter went on stage and took the microphone from Sarah.
Seeing this, the guests couldn't hold back any longer, and the whole room erupted in cheers.
They shouted, "Carter, we love you!"
On stage, Carter sang "With You."
Among the crowd, he only had eyes for Elizabeth.
His gaze was so intense. Elizabeth wanted to look away, but when she turned, she saw Michael sitting next to her.
She asked, "Why are you here?"
He looked at her and replied, "If I didn't come, would you go for a second round? Would you?"
Hearing this, Elizabeth blushed. How could Michael be so shameless in public?
On stage, Carter noticed Elizabeth's sudden blush and her head lowering.
He saw Michael in black who had suddenly appeared beside her.
Michael had a cold look, an air of defiance, and a vibe that screamed, "Stay away."
Carter met Michael's challenging gaze as Michael possessively placed a hand on the back of Elizabeth's chair, a gesture she seemed not to mind.
Carter thought, 'If it were me, would I dare to be so bold?'
