Chapter 569 Return
Michael calmly denied, "No. Like I said, I saved her because of Elizabeth. I was worried if that woman died, Elizabeth would feel guilty and sad."
Juan chuckled, "Man, Michael, you're really hung up on Elizabeth! You used to do everything she said. Now, even after losing your memory, you still care so much about her. Come on, spill it, what's so special about Elizabeth?"
Michael spoke softly, "Juan, I might as well tell you. I remember everything now."
Juan was momentarily stunned, "What?"
"I said, I remember everything. My memory is back. I remember everything about Elizabeth and me."
Juan burst into laughter, "You finally remember? So how do you feel now? After all, you just married Elizabeth not long ago, and then you came here to marry Cordelia."
Michael felt a headache coming on just thinking about it, "I can't believe I did something so ridiculous. If I were Elizabeth, I wouldn't forgive myself."
"Elizabeth not only forgave you, but she also understood why you did what you did."
"I get it now. She hid it from me back then because she was afraid I'd be too shocked. She did it to save Eloise."
"Now you remember her good side? Not the time to be cold and sarcastic to Elizabeth?"
"Juan, at that time, I really didn't remember our past."
Juan stopped teasing him and said seriously, "Michael, you don't need to blame yourself too much. In my opinion, it's not entirely your fault. Elizabeth made mistakes too. Since you're married, you should communicate and not hide things from each other."
"If she wanted to save Eloise, she should have done it openly. But she chose to do it secretly and hid it from you. Anyone would have been suspicious. It's really not your fault."
"Juan, stop criticizing her."
"Alright, alright. Now that you've got your memory back and remember Elizabeth's good qualities, she's an angel in your eyes again, and no one can say a bad word about her. I was wrong, I admit it, okay?"
Michael smiled helplessly, "Juan, why do you sound so aggrieved?"
Juan blew out a smoke ring and laughed, "Anyway, it's a good thing you've got your memory back. Now you can objectively judge what Gerald and Cordelia did to you. You can also figure out how much of what Gerald told you was true and how much was false."
Michael nodded seriously, "I understand."
At Whispering Pines Estates in Aurora Bay.
After being away for so long, Elizabeth finally returned home. Sitting in her living room, the familiar scent filled her nose.
She leaned back on the couch and sighed contentedly, "Finally home! There's no place like home!"
Susan walked over, holding Francis' hand.
"Francis, go find your mommy."
Francis toddled over to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth quickly got off the couch and opened her arms to him, "Sweetie, don't rush, don't fall."
Francis grinned and ran into her arms, laughing.
"Mommy, hug! Mommy, hug!"
Elizabeth picked him up and showered his rosy cheeks with kisses, "Sweetie, Mommy missed you so much!"
Francis giggled and tried to dodge her kisses.
Susan watched them with a smile, glancing outside, "Pearl's home from school!"
Elizabeth, holding Francis, walked outside. Susan opened the door for her.
Pearl saw her and immediately ran over, "Mommy! You're finally back!"
She hugged Elizabeth's leg tightly, not wanting to let go.
Elizabeth handed Francis to Susan and lifted Pearl up, "Sweetie, let's go inside."
Pearl buried her face in Elizabeth's shoulder and started crying, "Mommy, you have no idea how much I missed you while you were gone!"
"And Nolan wasn't here either. Francis doesn't understand anything. Thank goodness Mr. McGinnis came over often and took me to events. Otherwise, I wouldn't have made it!"
Elizabeth gently stroked her hair and said softly, "My sweet Pearl, you've been through so much! Mommy promises never to leave you for so long again! I swear! I'll never let Pearl be so sad again!"
Pearl looked up, wiped her tears, and sniffled, "Mommy, do you really mean it?"
Elizabeth nodded firmly, "Of course I do! And your daddy will be back soon too. He promised me that once he finishes things over there, he'll come back to us and live with us."
Pearl was skeptical, "But doesn't he have a new wife? Will he really leave her?"
"That wife isn't someone he truly wanted to marry. When the time comes, your daddy will explain everything to her. Your daddy will always be your daddy, no one can take him away."
Pearl remembered something else and looked at Elizabeth with hopeful eyes, "Mommy, what about Eloise? Didn't you bring her back too? She's not dead, she's still alive, right?"
Elizabeth smiled, "Yes, yes, Eloise is very much alive. Louis already took her and Quinn to your daddy's villa."
Pearl was disappointed, "Why didn't she come with you?"
"Pearl, that's Eloise's home. After being away for so long, of course, she wanted to go back to her own home first."
Pearl looked a bit down.
Elizabeth comforted her, "It's okay, after dinner, we'll go visit her together, alright?"
Pearl finally smiled again.
At the Thomas Mansion.
Clio, with red-rimmed eyes, kept looking at Eloise and Quinn, muttering, "It's so good! So good! It's so good to have you back!"
Eloise walked up and hugged Clio, "Clio, Quinn and I are back, why are you crying?"
Clio wiped her tears, "Eloise, these are happy tears, happy tears."
She pulled Eloise and Quinn to sit down, "Eloise, you mustn't do such dangerous things again. You have no idea how worried we were! When we heard you had died, Mr. Thomas and I were devastated!"
She started crying again before she could finish.
Eloise quickly hugged her, "Clio, I promise, I won't be so reckless again. I won't make you worry anymore."
Clio touched her hand and then her face, "Look at you, you must have suffered a lot out there, you're so thin."
Eloise tilted her head playfully, "Clio, you have no idea how much I missed your cooking!"
"That's easy! From now on, I'll cook different dishes for you every day! I'll make sure you gain the weight back!"
Eloise hugged Clio's neck, "Clio, you're the best."
"Eloise, there's something else I need to ask you. You and Louis—"
