Chapter 453 Exclusive Customization
As Elizabeth was lost in thought, Philip had already walked away.
Feeling heavy-hearted, she got back in her car and drove to Michael's office at Stellar Enterprises.
Seeing her troubled expression, Michael asked what had happened. Elizabeth recounted the events that had just occurred on the road.
"I just don't get it," Elizabeth said, puzzled. "Quinn is their family. Why do they seem to dislike him so much?"
Michael tried to comfort her. "Every family has its own dynamics. Maybe theirs is just more distant. Don't let it get to you. Like Philip said, you're just Quinn's doctor."
Elizabeth frowned. "But seeing Quinn like that, I can't help but feel bad for him. Michael, you don't know—his brother called him an 'idiot.' You have a sister, Eloise, and you would never speak about her like that. Quinn is his brother! How can he say that? Quinn trusts me. Shouldn't I live up to that trust? I just want to do something for Quinn! Maybe, you could say, part of it is for Eloise too."
Every time she thought of Quinn, she couldn't help but think of Eloise.
There had to be some connection between Eloise and Quinn. They were the same age, had the same condition, the same blood type. And, most importantly, they looked strikingly similar.
Quinn resembled Eloise even more than Michael did.
Michael gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Do whatever you feel is right. I'll support you."
Elizabeth hugged his arm and leaned against him.
She couldn't shake the strange feeling she had about Jesse and Philip. She wanted to verify her suspicions.
In a low voice, she said, "Michael, we're getting married soon. How about we both get a full health check-up?"
Michael was taken aback. "Are you worried I might have something contagious? Don't worry, I've always been clean. I don't mess around with other women."
Elizabeth held onto his arm. "What are you talking about? I'm just thinking about your health. Not just you, I'll get checked too. We'll do it together, to be responsible for each other, right?"
Hearing that they would go together, Michael agreed. "Alright. Set up an appointment, and we'll go."
The next morning, Elizabeth and Michael went to Harmony Health Hospital for some routine tests.
After the tests, the doctor told them to come back in two days for the results.
Michael took Elizabeth's hand. "It's still early. How about we grab some food and then check out some wedding dresses? And what kind of wedding ring do you like?"
Elizabeth beamed with happiness. "Sure. Let's eat first. But I need to use the restroom."
Michael didn't suspect a thing. "Okay. I'll wait here. Take your time."
Elizabeth went into the restroom, closed the stall door, and made a call.
"Mr. Cox, hello, this is Elizabeth."
When she came out, she linked arms with Michael, and they headed to the bridal shop.
The shop assistant greeted them with a smile. "Do you have an appointment?"
Elizabeth was taken aback and glanced at Michael.
For her first wedding, she hadn't handled any of the arrangements. The Thomas family had taken care of everything. She just had to show up.
She didn't know you needed an appointment to try on wedding dresses.
Michael politely addressed the assistant. "Could you get your manager, please?"
Seeing his demeanor, the assistant quickly fetched the manager.
The manager soon arrived with a smile. "Mr. Thomas, welcome!"
She glanced at Elizabeth and smiled. "You must be Ms. Jones from The Jones Group. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. How can we assist you?"
Michael led Elizabeth to a nearby sofa. "We're short on time, so we can't wait for a custom dress. Show us some dresses you think would suit my fiancée."
The manager clapped her hands. "Mr. Thomas, Ms. Jones, you're in luck! We just received a dress from Vesperia this week! It's a designer piece, made with the finest materials. And I think it would fit Ms. Jones perfectly, as if it were made for her!"
Michael crossed his legs. "Enough talk, let's see it."
The assistant quickly brought the dress, handling it with care.
The manager presented it to Elizabeth. "Ms. Jones, please follow me to try it on."
Elizabeth followed the manager to the fitting room. The manager helped her with her hair.
When she stepped out, Michael's eyes lit up.
The manager was right. The dress looked like it was made for Elizabeth.
For his first wedding, he hadn't been conscious, hadn't seen her walk down the aisle. This time, he wanted to make up for that. He wanted to give her a perfect wedding.
He was already looking forward to seeing her on their wedding day.
When the wedding music played and Elizabeth walked towards him, would he be too overwhelmed to speak?
Right now, Elizabeth stood before him, waiting for his opinion.
Michael walked up and sincerely praised her. "It's beautiful! This is the one!"
The manager smiled. "Great. I'll have it wrapped up for you, Ms. Jones."
Elizabeth changed out of the dress.
As she came out, she linked arms with Michael. "Where to next?"
"I've arranged for a designer to create our wedding rings. Let's go see him."
Elizabeth nodded. "Okay."
They were just a couple busy planning their wedding.
In the car, Michael said, "Elizabeth, I actually designed a set of wedding rings for us before."
Elizabeth's eyes widened. "Really? Let me see!"
Michael pulled her onto his lap. "Let's see the designer's options first. If you don't like them, we can use mine."
Elizabeth shook her head. "No, let's not go to the designer. I've decided, we'll use your design."
Michael's eyes softened, his voice tender. "Why? What if the designer's rings are more beautiful?"
Elizabeth snuggled into his arms. "The designer's rings are cold and impersonal. When you designed the rings, you must have been thinking of your love for me. So, of course, I'll choose your design."
She kissed his cheek. "Besides, I can show off to everyone: these rings were designed by my husband! Custom-made! One of a kind! No imitations allowed!"
