Chapter 226 Three People Playing Together

The next day, Elizabeth rushed into the amusement park, her heart pounding.

Michael's two bodyguards were stationed at the entrance, watching her dart inside.

One of them muttered, "Didn't Mr. Thomas rent out the whole place? How come someone just waltzed in?"

The other one replied, "Didn't you see? That's Elizabeth."

The first bodyguard nodded, "Oh, then Mr. Thomas probably won't mind."

The second one added, "He might even be happy about it."

Elizabeth spotted Pearl and Nolan holding hands, about to enter a stone castle. She called out, "Pearl! Nolan!"

They turned around and ran towards her.

Pearl beamed, "Mom, come explore the castle with us! It looks so cool!"

Nolan asked, "Mom, why is there no one else here? Did they all get stuck because they couldn't pass the challenges?"

Elizabeth knelt down. "Pearl, Nolan, listen. This place is rented out today. We can't stay. I came to find you. Let's go somewhere else to play. I promise we'll come back another day, okay?"

Nolan pouted and stayed silent.

Pearl's face fell.

Neither of them wanted to leave, but Elizabeth was desperate to avoid Michael.

He had even returned the scarf she gave him, a clear sign he no longer cared. Running into him would just be awkward.

She grabbed the kids and started to leave.

Pearl and Nolan looked back longingly at the castle.

"Nolan! Pearl!" A familiar voice called out.

Elizabeth turned to see Eloise approaching, holding a glowing balloon.

Eloise had just seen Pearl and Nolan on the Ferris wheel and had asked the staff to stop it.

She walked over and smiled, "Merry Christmas!"

Elizabeth thought, 'Christmas isn't merry for me! Michael rented out the place for you, not for us!'

But she remembered the harsh words she had said to Eloise before, so she stayed quiet.

Nolan, seeing Eloise, already knew who had rented the place.

He glanced at Elizabeth and said, "Mom, let's go."

He turned to Eloise and politely said, "Merry Christmas! Have fun!"

Eloise was about to respond when Michael hurried over. "Eloise! Weren't you on the Ferris wheel? Why did you get off?"

He glanced at Elizabeth and her kids, giving them a cold nod.

Behind him, Calla came running, out of breath.

Elizabeth sneered inwardly, 'Michael, you're something else! Spending the holidays with both of them!'

She glanced at Calla with contempt, thinking, 'This woman is really something, tagging along with her boyfriend and his ex. Only Calla could put up with this. If it were me, I'd either dump the guy or break his legs.'

Michael noticed the disdain in Elizabeth's eyes.

He pulled Eloise closer. "Eloise, let's go somewhere else today."

Eloise protested, "Michael, we just got here. And I want to play with Pearl and Nolan."

Nolan turned away, avoiding her gaze.

Eloise felt a pang of hurt. Hadn't he given her paper cranes before? What changed? Why was he back to being so cold?

Michael coaxed her, "Eloise, it's Christmas. I promised you a great time. We can go to another amusement park. Don't worry, I've already rented out another one."

Eloise reluctantly agreed. "Alright then."

As she passed by Nolan, she said, "Nolan, goodbye."

As Michael passed by Elizabeth, he paused for a moment, looking off into the distance. "I'll take Eloise away. This place is yours and the kids'."

He took Eloise's hand and walked away.

Pearl immediately grabbed Nolan's hand and dashed towards the castle. "Nolan, hurry; let's go explore!"

Elizabeth hadn't even had time to react before they were off.

She felt a strong aversion to Michael's charity, especially in front of his two women!

But there was no choice; Pearl and Nolan loved this place, so she had to accept it.

Michael walked towards the entrance, glancing at Louis as if unintentionally.

On such an important day, Elizabeth chose to spend it with Louis. Did she have a thing for him?

Michael felt a dull pain in his heart. He thought, 'Louis, with his average abilities and looks, only has a slightly better personality. He isn't worthy of Elizabeth.'

But whether Louis was worthy or not, Michael no longer had the right to care.

Michael was experiencing the pain of loss.

Suddenly, Calla's body swayed and she held onto a nearby tree.

Michael quickly stopped and asked with concern, "Calla, what's wrong?"

Calla gave him a weak smile. "It's nothing, just a bit dizzy."

Without hesitation, Michael picked her up and quickly walked towards the exit.

He thought, 'She couldn't be in trouble. Eloise is still waiting for her to perform surgery on her.'

Watching this scene, Elizabeth felt a deep chill rise in her heart.

She thought her heart would no longer be moved by Michael.

But seeing him care for another woman so tenderly, her heart felt like it was submerged in an icy lake, freezing her to the core.

Louis walked over. "Elizabeth. Stop looking. The kids are still in the castle."

Elizabeth snapped out of it.

She glanced at Louis, her voice hoarse. "Alright, let's go in too."

Louis stopped her, his voice deep, "Wait a moment."

He took out a tissue and gently wiped the tears from the corners of Elizabeth's eyes. "The wind is so strong today, it blew your tears out."

His actions were gentle, treating her like a fragile treasure, and his voice was incredibly soft.

Elizabeth was stunned for a moment, then instinctively pulled away.

She hurriedly wiped her eyes with her hand and ran towards the castle.

Louis stood there, his hand still in mid-air, maintaining the same gesture.

He looked at the distant Elizabeth, shook his head helplessly, and smiled.

Elizabeth caught up with Pearl and Nolan, playing and laughing with them in the castle.

Louis stayed with them, smiling as he watched them play and take photos.

At noon, they had a casual meal in the amusement park and continued playing.

By four in the afternoon, Elizabeth was exhausted.

But Pearl and Nolan were still full of energy, showing no signs of fatigue.

They had played in the castle all day and still weren't satisfied.

Elizabeth collapsed on a lounge chair. "Pearl, Nolan, let's go. It's getting dark, and we should go home early, or your grandma will worry."

Pearl and Nolan reluctantly left, with Pearl insisting on coming back to play tomorrow.

Louis smiled. "Elizabeth, I took a ride-share this morning. It's hard to get a car at this time in this place. Could you give me a ride to the city? It would be easier to get a car there."

Elizabeth sat up straight. "I can even take you home! After all, you spent the whole day with us."

Louis extended his hand to her. "Give me the keys, I'll drive. You sit in the passenger seat and rest."
