Chapter 109 Don't Want Bad Man to Be Our Dad
Seraphina knew Anthony came from money. His uncle Michael was a big shot in Aurora Bay. Everyone respected him. Michael's Stellar Enterprises was loaded. Being Michael's only nephew, Anthony had his back covered.
Anthony was also a looker. Tall, handsome, and classy, he was the real deal. He spoke softly, unlike many guys these days who were all talking.
Seraphina was pretty happy with him.
Just as she was about to say something, a little girl popped up beside them. She started crying and grabbed Anthony's sleeve.
"Daddy, why are you here? Who's this lady? Didn't you tell Mom you were out for business? Does business mean holding her hand? Didn't you say you'd only hold Mom's and my hand forever? Why are you lying?"
Both Seraphina and Anthony were floored by this twist.
Seraphina's eyes went wide, and she stood up, pointing at Anthony's nose and yelling, "Anthony! You jerk! How dare you lie to me? Do you think I'm stupid?"
With that, Seraphina stormed out of the restaurant, fuming.
Anthony was totally lost. He turned to look at Pearl.
Pearl stared at him with her big, bright eyes. She was soft and cute, and she seemed kinda familiar, making it hard to stay mad at her.
Anthony's heart melted right away.
He turned to Pearl and gently said, "Hey kid, don't cry. You've got the wrong guy. I'm not your daddy. I'm not even married. How could I have a kid your age? Even though you're super cute, I'm really not your daddy."
Pearl stopped crying. She wiped her tears and looked at Anthony with wide eyes. "Oh, I'm sorry, I must've made a mistake. But you really look a lot like my daddy."
Pearl's little mouth pouted, and tears were about to fall again. "But what do I do if I can't find my mom? I just told her I saw my daddy and ran over to you. Now I can't find her."
Pearl was about to cry again.
Anthony quickly tried to calm her down. "Alright, don't cry. Tell me where your mom is. I'll help you find her."
Pearl shook her head, her eyes filled with tears. She looked so pitiful. "I don't know where she is either. It was a big, spacious place with lots of stuff for sale and lights on the ceiling. There were security guards at the entrance and lots of people inside."
Anthony thought it sounded like a mall. But that description was too vague. Where should he start looking for Pearl's mom?
Pearl spoke up again, tears in her eyes, "I remember my mom's phone number. I can call her and ask her to come get me. Can I borrow your phone?"
Anthony quickly handed her his phone. "Sure, here you go, make the call."
Pearl smiled through her tears. "Even though you're not my daddy, you're really nice."
Hearing such a cute compliment, Anthony smiled.
Pearl took Anthony's phone, turned around, and sat on the sofa opposite him.
The phone screen was facing away from Anthony, so he had no idea what number she was dialing.
Soon, Pearl handed the phone back to Anthony. "Thanks. I think I remember where my mom was now. Bye!"
She flashed him a sweet smile and then skipped away.
Anthony watched her leave, as if this brief encounter had ended without ever happening. Yet, he felt as though he had seen her somewhere before.
Pearl quickly left the restaurant and found Nolan waiting outside.
Nolan asked eagerly, "Pearl, how'd it go?"
Pearl proudly reported, "Nolan, I did what you said and planted the virus in his phone."
Nolan adjusted his cap, "Nice work, Pearl. Things are gonna get interesting now."
Pear still hoped that Anthony wasn't their dad. "Nolan, is that guy really our dad?"
Nolan's expression stayed the same, "If the name Mom filled in is right, then yeah, he's our dad."
Pearl looked down, disappointed. "He does look a bit like us. But he's so bad. I really don't want him to be our dad."
Nolan nodded as he added, "Maybe that's why Mom left him."
Pearl nodded, "Definitely! Mom's amazing, she shouldn't be with a bad guy like that!"
Nolan said, "Let's go, he's coming out soon."
Pearl replied, "Okay."
The siblings held hands and left.
After leaving the café, Elizabeth went home and picked up the two kids.
After leaving the café, Elizabeth went straight home. Nolan and Pearl arrived ten minutes earlier than she did.
As soon as Elizabeth got home, Pearl begged her to take them out for some fun, complaining that they had been there for so long without knowing what the restaurants, malls, and amusement parks were like.
The siblings had only been to the airport, school, and hotel. Pearl pouted, looking very upset.
Elizabeth thought about it and realized it was true.
Since she returned to the country, she had been busy every day and hadn't had time to spend with the kids.
So, she took them to the largest mall. There were restaurants, cafés, shops, and a children's amusement park.
The siblings wanted to go to the amusement park.
Elizabeth bought tickets, then she took them to the amusement park.
The amusement park was enclosed. As soon as they went in, they went to play castle adventure.
Elizabeth couldn't see them at all. She sat in the parents' waiting area at the entrance, waiting for them to finish playing. She had no idea this was Nolan's little scheme.
Nolan had already used his hacking skills to find Anthony's phone number and locate his phone, knowing that he was in this restaurant.
Nolan gave Pearl an earpiece to wear. "I'll stay in touch with you through this."
Pearl climbed over the castle wall, left the amusement park, took the elevator, and went straight to the restaurant on the sixth floor of the mall.
She accurately found Anthony's location and sat in the booth back-to-back with Anthony.
Through the earpiece, she transmitted Anthony and Seraphina's conversation to Nolan.
Nolan thought the timing was right and immediately ran out of the amusement park to the restaurant to pick up Pearl.
They returned to the amusement park, and Elizabeth was still waiting for them, unaware that they had left midway.
She sat in the waiting area, trying hard to spot them among the crowd.
Pearl walked out of the castle in the amusement park and came over to hold her hand, "Mom!"
Elizabeth was stunned for a moment, "Pearl! Were you playing hide and seek? I have been looking for you."
Nolan stood beside them, bored, "Mom, let's go."
Elizabeth knew Nolan didn't like the things little kids enjoyed.
She sought Pearl's approval, and then took them and left.
