Chapter 515 Forced Marriage
Elizabeth's eyes were determined. "Dean, I have to go back and find him."
"What about Eloise and Quinn?"
"We'll have to count on Louie."
Louis, overhearing their conversation, walked over. "Elizabeth, don't worry about it. I got this. Eloise will be out of the hospital soon, and I'll set her up at Ms. Johnson's old place. She and Quinn can stay there together."
Elizabeth hugged him. "Thanks, Louie. We'll be back once Nolan's school starts."
Louis gently returned the hug. "Take care, Elizabeth."
Matthew's apartment in Aurora Bay, Celestria.
Sherry was cleaning.
The door opened.
Sherry assumed it was Matthew and didn't even look up, continuing her cleaning.
A surprised voice called out, "Sherry, put down the mop!"
Sherry jumped and turned around to see Matthew's parents had arrived.
She stood there awkwardly, holding the mop.
After all, Matthew had told her in front of Janna not to stay here. It had only been a few days, and she was back.
Blushing, Sherry lowered her head and softly greeted, "Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Anderson."
Janna put her things down, changed her shoes, and quickly walked over to her.
"Sherry, why are you doing housework? Where's Matthew? Didn't he always have a cleaning service? Why is he making you do this? I heard from Matthew that you're pregnant. You shouldn't be overexerting yourself. Sit down and rest."
Without waiting for a response, Janna took off Sherry's apron and gloves and led her to the couch.
"Sherry, in the early stages of pregnancy, you need to take care of yourself. You can't overwork."
Sherry wanted to explain that she and Matthew had agreed she would do housework to offset the rent, but Janna didn't give her a chance to speak.
Holding Sherry's hand with one hand, she took out her phone with the other. "Sherry, just sit here. I'll call Matthew."
Sherry quickly said, "Mrs. Anderson, I can't stay here for free, but I don't have money to pay Matthew rent, so I do the housework."
Janna was furious. "That idiot Matthew isn't answering my call!"
She turned back to Sherry, her tone softening. "Sherry, don't let him push you around! You shouldn't be doing any housework. Just rest and take care of yourself. Let Matthew handle everything!"
She stood up, frowning. "Where is Matthew? He won't even answer my calls."
Sherry stood up too, speaking softly. "He should be busy looking for Michael. Michael went missing, and it seems he was in a car accident."
Janna was shocked. "A car accident? Michael is such a good person. How could something so terrible happen to him?"
She held Sherry's hand. "Don't worry, Sherry. Your brother will be fine. You must take care of yourself and not get too upset over this."
She turned to Elijah Anderson, who was sitting on the couch. "Elijah, call the chef from home to come over and cook for Sherry. She probably hasn't eaten yet."
Sherry quickly waved her hands. "No need, Janna. I can just eat something simple. It's not a big deal."
Elijah insisted. "I'll call right now. Young people need to take care of their health. You must eat properly."
Soon, the chef team from the Anderson Villa arrived and set up a table full of food for Sherry.
Janna called her over. "Come on, Sherry, have some food. I didn't ask Matthew about your preferences, so I hope there's something you like. If you find something you enjoy, eat more of it. You're too thin."
Matthew's father took out his checkbook, wrote a number on the first page, tore it off, and placed it on the table.
"Sherry, you're expecting a child. If you need anything, just buy it. This money is for you. If you run out, let me know."
Sherry looked at Matthew's parents, feeling a lump in her throat.
She had never experienced parental love before.
At this moment, Sherry envied Matthew immensely.
He had such loving parents, yet he found them annoying and wanted to stay away from them.
Sherry even thought, if only she were truly part of their family. Then she could always have their love.
After dinner, Janna pulled Sherry to the couch to chat.
"Sherry, with Philip's situation uncertain, you're vulnerable and could easily be taken advantage of. When do you plan to marry Matthew? Should you register the marriage soon or have a wedding first? Elijah and I have no objections."
Sherry was taken aback. She had never considered marrying Matthew.
She stood up in a panic. "Mrs. Anderson, Matthew and I have no plans to get married. He dislikes me, and I don't have feelings for him. We can't get married."
Janna glanced at her husband, then at Sherry. "You don't like each other? Then how did you end up pregnant with his child?"
Sherry was about to explain. "This child is..."
Janna's phone rang. It was Matthew.
Janna answered immediately. "Matthew, your father and I are at your place. Sherry is here too. How could you let her do housework when she's pregnant with your child? We're here to discuss your marriage with Sherry."
Matthew's voice roared through the phone. "Mom! Who told you Sherry's child is mine? That kid's father could be anyone, but it's definitely not me! There's no way I'm marrying her!"
Janna stared at Sherry, dumbfounded. Sherry's face turned pale at Matthew's words.
Janna hung up and looked at Sherry. "Sherry, Matthew says the child isn't his. Is that true?"
Sherry gave a bitter smile and didn't answer. She stood up, went upstairs, and quickly came back down with her suitcase.
Janna, seeing her about to leave, hurried over. "Sherry, I didn't mean to drive you away. I just..."
She nudged Elijah. "Elijah! Say something!"
Elijah stood up, about to speak, when the door burst open, and Matthew stormed in.
He looked furious and shouted at Sherry. "Sherry! Do you have any shame? You know we never slept together. Why are you lying to my parents?"
"Are you trying to force me into marriage? You're out of your mind if you think I'll marry you! Forget it, it's never going to happen!"
