Chapter 450 Passionate Kiss

Her voice shook.

Yes, Michael had been so ascetic for so many years and had a severe case of germophobia.

He'd been with Calla for so long and never once had sex with her. How could he possibly hook up with some random woman in a hotel?

She was just worried sick! How could she be so naive? How could she fall for that woman's trick so easily?

That woman must have had some hidden agenda in his room! Elizabeth's knocking must have thrown her off! That's why she put on a bathrobe to confuse Elizabeth!

Thinking this, Elizabeth grabbed Michael's hand urgently. "Go back to your room! Check if anything's missing."

Sensing her anxiety, Michael's expression shifted, and he pulled her along as they left.

Once in the room, Michael carefully checked everything but found nothing out of place. Even the bed was neatly made.

He glanced at Elizabeth.

Elizabeth saw it too and turned her head, embarrassed.

Then she noticed Michael's laptop on the desk.

"Has your laptop been on this whole time?"

Michael walked over and touched it. "It's warm. Someone's used it."

Elizabeth's face changed. "Someone dared to enter your room so boldly? Aren't they afraid of getting caught? Who are they? Where's your bodyguard? Where's Daniel?"

Michael's face grew serious. "I only brought Ronnie with me this time. He's reliable. Nico is too unpredictable, so I left him in Aurora Bay. Daniel had other company matters to handle, so I left him behind too."

Elizabeth pushed him onto the couch. "Check your laptop quickly. See if any files have been messed with."

Michael opened it up. "My computer skills aren't as good as Nolan's or Dean's. I can't tell."

Elizabeth pulled him up. "Move over. Let me see if Dean can help."

She called Dean. "Dean, Michael's laptop was accessed. Can you check if any files were tampered with?"

Far away in Aurora Bay, Dean was having dinner with Daniel.

Daniel whispered, "What's up? My boss?"

Dean shook his head and mouthed silently, "Elizabeth."

Daniel fell silent.

"Elizabeth, hold on."

Dean went upstairs to his room and opened his laptop.

Soon, he called Elizabeth back. "Elizabeth, a design blueprint for the Morning Glow District project was copied from his laptop."

Michael was taken aback, then puzzled. "The blueprint is due tomorrow. Why are they in such a hurry to copy it? Why send someone to do it secretly?"

Elizabeth looked worried. "They're not playing by the rules. Could something have happened? Or do they have another plan? Should we check the surveillance footage to see who else entered your room?"

Michael shook his head. "It's useless. The entire hotel is owned by the Adams Group. The front desk has a key to my room. If they dared to come in so openly, they must have been prepared."

"If we check the surveillance, they'll find an excuse to stall. Even if we find the person, what can we do? It's better to figure out why they did this first."

He called out, "Ronnie."

The bodyguard emerged from the shadows.

Elizabeth was startled. "When did you come in? Why didn't I hear you?"

Michael reassured her. "Ronnie's been lurking in the shadows for years. Nico is the one who protects me openly."

Ronnie bowed respectfully. "Mr. Thomas, what are your orders?"

Michael instructed, "Have Nico bring people over with a helicopter. Try not to alert too many people. Wait at the foot of the mountain, ready at any time."

Ronnie nodded and left. "Yes, Mr. Thomas."

Elizabeth felt weak all over. She swayed, and Michael quickly caught her.

"Elizabeth!"

Elizabeth leaned into his arms. "Michael, let's go back. The Adams Group is dangerous. We shouldn't be on their turf, letting them manipulate us. I should have refused. Why couldn't he come to Aurora Bay to sign the contract?"

Michael held her. "Elizabeth, have you thought about it? If he had a plan, he would have found another way, even in Aurora Bay."

"But at least we're more familiar with Aurora Bay."

"Don't be afraid. I'm here. I won't let you be in danger."

He picked up his phone and dialed a number. "Find out what Nathan Adams is up to."

Elizabeth pulled him. "Michael, don't stay in this room. Come with me to the next room."

He looked at her steadily. "Are you sure?"

A man and a woman alone in a room? It was obvious what would happen.

Since she invited him, whatever he did, she would probably be okay with it, right?

Elizabeth nodded firmly. "Otherwise, let's leave tonight. It's dangerous here."

Michael chose the former decisively. "I'll take you back to your room."

He opened his suitcase, grabbed a few clothes, and then held Elizabeth's hand as they went to her room.

Elizabeth was puzzled. "Aren't you bringing your laptop?"

Leaving it there, what if someone copied something else?

Michael shook his head. "It's been thoroughly searched. It doesn't matter if I bring it or not."

Elizabeth thought for a moment and realized he was right.

After her recent emotional turmoil, she was sure she still loved Michael. She couldn't tolerate him being with another woman.

As soon as the door closed, she turned and hugged him.

Michael's body stiffened, his voice low. "Elizabeth."

Elizabeth held him, leaning into his chest, finally feeling safe.

"Michael, I don't want you to get hurt. I don't want you to be with anyone else."

Michael comforted her softly. "I won't get hurt. I won't be with anyone else. My future belongs to you."

He lowered his head, found her lips, and kissed her without hesitation.

Elizabeth had been longing for this moment. She wrapped her arms around his neck, responding to his kiss.

Michael lifted her onto the entryway cabinet, pressing between her legs, kissing her passionately.

Elizabeth wrapped her legs around his waist, welcoming his further advances.

In the middle of the night, Michael's phone rang.

Not wanting to wake Elizabeth, he quickly stepped outside to answer.

"Mr. Thomas, we have news. This Nathan is a terrorist. He received orders from someone to kill you and Elizabeth."

"Details?"

"He planted a micro remote-controlled bomb in your laptop. It's set to go off tomorrow morning."

"What about Elizabeth?"

"At the signing ceremony tomorrow, everyone present will die with her."

"I understand."

Michael hung up, his face dark.

Who was behind Nathan? Were they trying to get themselves killed by messing with him like this?

Since their plan was for tomorrow morning, he might as well get a good night's sleep first.
