Chapter 130 Live Next to Me from Now On
Remote in hand, Nolan was ready to give Falcon some orders. "Falcon, tidy up the couch."
Falcon spun around and responded, "Command received, tidy up the couch."
In no time, Falcon neatly folded the small blanket on the couch and arranged the cushions perfectly.
Pearl was thrilled, "Falcon is awesome! It can help Nancy with so many chores."
Nolan kept giving Falcon more commands.
Elizabeth watched the children play happily for a while before returning to her room to rest. She didn't forget to send a text message to Dean: [The robot has arrived, Nolan is already using it.]
Meanwhile, Michael arranged for someone to take Clara back to where she lived—Moonlight Grove.
Michael stayed with Eloise at the hospital. As soon as Eloise woke up, he anxiously asked, "Eloise, how are you feeling?"
Eloise softly replied, "Michael, I just have a bit of a headache."
Michael hit the call button by the bed, and the doctor and nurse showed up quickly.
"She's been out for over ten hours. Maybe you should check on her," Michael said, worried.
The doctor and nurse did a quick check-up on Eloise.
Michael held her hand tightly.
He knew Eloise hated being touched by strangers, especially in tight spaces. The old Eloise would have freaked out. But Michael was surprised to see Eloise staying calm and cooperative.
She was totally chill.
Michael felt a huge wave of relief. Eloise had finally grown up and become a normal person.
After the check-up, the doctor told Michael, "Her vitals are stable, and all post-surgery signs are normal. She'll need to stay in the hospital for a bit longer for observation."
Still worried, Michael said, "She doesn't like unfamiliar places. If she's stable, I'd like to take her home."
The doctor replied, "That's fine. I'll help you with the discharge paperwork."
Michael had one of his guys handle Eloise's discharge.
The driver took Michael and Eloise back to the Thomas Villa.
Michael got out and opened the door for Eloise.
She held his hand and stood at the entrance of the villa, staring blankly inside.
Michael softly said, "Eloise, let's go inside. I've lived here for years."
Eloise clung to his hand and asked, "Is this where you've always lived? Are there other people here?"
He said, "Yeah, there are a few maids, Susan the cook, a driver, a gardener, and my bodyguards."
She nodded. "That's quite a few people."
Michael, excited, held her hand. "Eloise, you don't mind living here with me, do you?"
Eloise gave him a bright smile, "Why would I? This is your home. You brought me here, and I'm happy to live here."
Michael could barely keep his excitement in check. He gently hugged Eloise, careful not to squeeze too hard since she had just had surgery.
Holding Eloise's small frame, Michael felt tears welling up.
He thought, 'This is amazing. Eloise is making such great progress. I need to thank Calla properly. The surgery brought Eloise closer to a normal life, and her decision to stay at my place shows she's starting to accept strangers and open up more.'
Michael took Eloise's hand and led her into the living room.
Susan saw them come in and quickly greeted, "Mr. Thomas, you're back."
Michael, still holding Eloise's hand, pointed to her and said to Susan, "Susan, this is Eloise. She just had surgery and is still a bit weak, so she can't be overstimulated. Please take good care of her."
Susan nodded quickly, "Don't worry. I'll take good care of her. I've already set up the room next to yours on the second floor. I can take her there now."
Michael turned to Eloise with a gentle smile. "Eloise, let's go upstairs and check out your room! See if you like it!"
Eloise smiled back at him. "Okay."
They headed up to the second floor. Michael opened the door to the room next to his and led Eloise inside.
The room had a similar layout to Michael's but with more feminine touches. The walls were decorated with carefully chosen artworks and paintings. The luxurious bed had pink canopies. A classical lamp sat on the bedside table. Pink lace adorned the area around the bed. The sofa by the window was piled with plush toys. The heavy curtains, embroidered with simple floral patterns in beautiful, understated hues, had tassel edges and pink accents.
The entire room was carpeted, making it silent to walk on.
Michael asked, "Eloise, this is your room. Do you like it?"
Eloise looked around and nodded. "Yes, I like it very much."
Michael's heart swelled with happiness. "From now on, Eloise, you'll live right next to me."
Eloise tiptoed and whispered in his ear, "Michael, does this mean I can live with you forever?"
Michael gently hugged her and replied, "Of course, I'll always be by your side. If I'm at work during the day and not home, just let Susan know if you need anything. If you miss me, ask her to give me a call, okay?"
Eloise nodded obediently. "Okay."
A new week had begun.
"Mom, I'm heading to the office. Please take the kids to school later," Elizabeth said to Nancy as she finished her breakfast on Monday.
"Okay, don't worry about it. I'll take care of them. My Elizabeth, do your best. I have high hopes for you. I believe the Jones Group will thrive under your leadership. But don't put too much pressure on yourself. Just focus on doing your best and don't overwork," Nancy said with a warm, motherly tone.
Elizabeth hugged Nancy. "Okay, I got it. Mom, I love you."
Elizabeth grabbed her handbag and headed out.
Before leaving, she turned to Nancy and asked, "Mom, should we hire a driver?"
