Chapter 59 What Does Her Lips Feel?

Elizabeth was about to catch up to him to say thanks, but Michael had already retreated to his room.

Susan looked at her and said, "Mrs. Thomas, Mr. Thomas heard you lost your bag and got really worried. He rushed to the police station and pushed the officers to solve the case and get your bag back."

Elizabeth lowered her head, speechless.

The next morning.

Sunset Heights, dining room.

Susan was setting up breakfast again.

Michael was on one side reading the morning paper, and Elizabeth, sitting at the dining table, said softly, "Thanks for getting my bag back last night. That must've been tough."

Michael looked up and said, "I'm fine. How's the injury on your face? Anyway, it was wrong of my mom to hit you. I apologize on her behalf."

Elizabeth lowered her head and said, "It doesn't hurt anymore, and the swelling's gone down. Besides, it wasn't you who hit me, so you don't need to apologize."

Michael put down the newspaper and sat at the table, "Still, it was wrong of her to hit you. No matter how mad she was, she shouldn't have done that. It's disrespectful. If anyone tried to hit my face, I wouldn't let them get away with it."

Hearing this, Elizabeth stood up, slowly raised her hand, and gently touched his cheek, "What about this? Would you let me get away with it?"

Elizabeth's eyes were locked on Michael.

Michael gently raised his head and looked at her face. She wasn't wearing any makeup. Her eyes sparkled, looking down at him.

When Michael looked up, his gaze landed right on Elizabeth's red lips.

Elizabeth was intently looking at his face, waiting for his response, her mouth slightly open from nervousness.

Michael looked at her red lips and suddenly swallowed unconsciously.

He quickly lowered his head and said, "Let's eat."

Elizabeth also quickly sat down and said, "Okay, let's eat. Michael, this way, we owe each other nothing." After saying that, she quickly took a sip of milk.

They both finished the breakfast quickly. No one spoke at the dining table.

Soon, they went back to their rooms.

Elizabeth entered her room and leaned against the closed door, looking at the hand that had touched Michael's cheek, recalling the feeling when she touched his face. Her fingertips were slightly cool as if they had thouched a smooth, flawless gem.

Michael returned to his room, looked in the mirror, and raised his hand, gently touching the side of his face that Elizabeth had just touched, recalling how she looked when he raised his head at the dining table.

Her eyes were so bright, reflecting his image.

Her lips were full and red, like ripe cherries inviting to be picked.

Michael suddenly wondered what it would feel like to kiss her lips.

Thinking of this, he quickly closed his eyes and ordered himself to stop! He couldn't think further about it anymore!

He hurriedly washed his face, changed his clothes, and quickly went out to find the driver.

STellar Enterprises.

President's office.

Daniel knocked on the office door and walked in, "Mr. Thomas, I've got all the info you wanted. It's all in this file folder."

Michael opened the file folder, skimmed through it, and handed it back to Daniel. "Get someone to send this to Elizabeth."

Daniel's eyes widened. "You're just gonna send it like that? Be careful. Mrs. Thomas might get mad."

"She won't. She doesn't have feelings for Samuel," Michael said, not even looking up.

Daniel was surprised. "Mr. Thomas, are you that confident?"

"Why shouldn't I be? Elizabeth is my wife. We haven't divorced yet," Michael replied.

"But Mr. Thomas, Samuel invested 500 million dollars in Mrs. Thomas's company! And he's not much worse than you. He's handsome, tall, rich, and knows how to pursue women. In that aspect, he's better than both you and me," Daniel pointed out.

Michael said patiently, "That's why I need to show Elizabeth how many exes Samuel has. Do you think she'd still want to be one of those dozens of women?"

Daniel gave Michael a thumbs up. "Mr. Thomas, good point."

The Jones Group.

President's office.

The secretary knocked on the door and handed over a file folder.

Elizabeth asked, "What's this?"

The secretary replied, "Mrs. Jones, this is a file sent by Daniel from STellar Enterprises. He specifically instructed that you open it yourself."

Elizabeth said, "Okay, thank you. I got it."

After the secretary left, Elizabeth used a utility knife to open the package. A bunch of photos of beautiful women spilled out onto her desk.

Elizabeth was puzzled when her phone rang.

She picked up the phone and saw it was Michael calling. She quickly answered, "Michael, what's up?"

Michael said, "Elizabeth, did you get the information I sent you?"

Elizabeth shouted in a low voice, "You sent it? Why did you send me a bunch of photos of beautiful women? Are you asking me to pick a mistress for you?"

Michael, on the other end, held his forehead in exasperation. "Elizabeth, what are you thinking? Do I really look like a man who's obsessed with women? You're already enough for me to handle."

Elizabeth asked quzzically, "Then why did you send me so many photos of beautiful women? Surely it's not for me to judge a beauty contest?"

Michael asked, "Isn't Samuel pursuing you recently?"

Elizabeth said, "How is he pursuing me? Didn't he invest 500 million dollars in our company? He's been coming to our company often, attending meetings, and giving us optimization plans or something. As for pursuing me, I haven't noticed."

Michael asked, "Hasn't he invited you to dinner, asked you to watch a movie, sent you flowers, and bought you beautiful clothes and jewelry?"

Elizabeth said strangely, "Michael, I am your wife. Why would he pursue me knowing that I'm married? Isn't that asking for trouble? He invited me to dinner just to talk business. When he sent me flowers, I gave them to the front desk. I'm still your wife, and I have the self-awareness."

"So, you mean if we were divorced, you would accept his advances, right?" Michael's anger was already coming through the phone.

Elizabeth held her forehead, a bit confused by Michael's thoughts. "So, Michael, what exactly are you trying to say? Are you encouraging Samuel to pursue me or hating that?"
