Chapter 327 Framing

The woman on the ground, bruised and disheveled, was none other than Calla.

Elizabeth never imagined that Calla would come after her because of Anthony. After all, she and Anthony had broken up years ago.

The security guards at the door had already lifted Calla up and brought her in front of Elizabeth.

It was work hours, and many company employees were at the entrance. Calla was still cursing loudly, a far cry from her usual composed self.

Elizabeth didn't want her to affect the company's image, so she told the guards, "Get her out of here."

Her bodyguard looked at her and said, "Ms. Jones, your face..."

Elizabeth waved her hand dismissively. "It's fine, I'll put some ice on it later."

Calla, restrained by the security guards, was still causing a scene. "Elizabeth! You shameless woman! Stealing my boyfriend!"

Elizabeth, her head throbbing from Calla's yelling, felt something must have happened.

She walked up to Calla and said, "Calla, are you out of your mind? Why would I leave Michael for Anthony, that jerk? Are you stupid or am I?"

Calla glared at her. "I saw it with my own eyes! Elizabeth, don't deny it! What were you doing at the Thomas mansion last night? You know what you did! You wouldn't dare tell Michael, would you? I'll tell him for you!"

Elizabeth was puzzled. Last night? She had been in her own bed, suffering from a leg cramp due to a calcium deficiency, tossing and turning all night.

Why would she go to the Thomas mansion to see Anthony? She'd have to be crazy.

Elizabeth looked at Calla with disdain. "Calla, is there something wrong with your eyes? And where did you get those bruises on your face?"

Calla, clearly hit where it hurt, broke free from the guards' grip, trying to cover her face with her hair.

She lowered her head and said harshly, "None of your business! Elizabeth, take care of yourself! You're pregnant, don't do shameless things! Don't say I didn't warn you! If you do it again, I won't be so nice!"

Dean parked his car and saw the commotion, quickly running over. "Who are you threatening?"

He turned to Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, are you okay?"

Elizabeth shook her head. "I'm fine. Let's go inside."

Calla, feeling she had made her point, covered her face and hurried away.

In the CEO's office, Elizabeth applied an ice pack to her face.

Dean, who hadn't noticed her face earlier, was furious when he saw the swelling. He wanted to go after Calla.

Elizabeth calmed him down. "Forget it. The guard's punch was pretty hard. She's lucky she didn't break any bones."

Dean was still angry. "Why did she hit you? Is she crazy?"

Elizabeth found it unbelievable too. "She seems to have lost her mind. She accused me of seducing Anthony."

Dean's eyes widened. "Anthony? That idiot? Only she would think he's a catch. Didn't she just break up with Michael? And now she's with his nephew?"

Elizabeth winced as she pressed the ice pack to her face. "Maybe she thinks Anthony is younger. She even claimed I went to the Thomas mansion last night to seduce him."

Dean laughed in disbelief. "That crazy woman. Does she think you have the ability to be in two places at once? Even if you did, you wouldn't go after that jerk."

Elizabeth looked up. "Two places at once?"

Dean came over to help her hold the ice pack. "Elizabeth, what are you thinking?"

Elizabeth looked thoughtful. "Dean, do you believe there are two people in the world who look exactly the same?"

Dean shrugged. "Unless they're twins or had plastic surgery."

Elizabeth remembered the woman in white she had seen at the restaurant, the one with Margaret. Her double.

She had to find out who that person was.

Later that morning, Michael showed up at The Jones Group. The receptionists didn't dare stop him and let him go straight to the CEO's office.

Michael didn't even knock, just walked in and sat down, staring at Elizabeth.

Elizabeth didn't expect him to come. Seeing he wasn't speaking, she ignored him and continued working.

Michael couldn't hold back. He walked over, reached across the desk, and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look up.

Elizabeth frowned. "Michael, are you out of your mind?"

Michael ignored her annoyance and examined her face closely. "Did Calla hit you?"

Elizabeth cursed inwardly, 'This guy has his hands in everything, turning Dean into his informant!'

She pushed his arm away. "Yes, are you going to avenge me?"

She looked at Michael coldly. "But there's no need. The guard already taught her a lesson."

She turned back to her computer.

Michael moved behind the desk, turned her chair to face him, and leaned in, his arms on either side of her, trapping her.

Elizabeth felt suffocated under his intense gaze. She cleared her throat awkwardly. "So, Mr. Thomas, what brings you here today? Just to check on my face?"

Michael nodded. "I heard Calla hit you and came to see how you were. Why did she hit you?"

Elizabeth blurted out, "Because she's crazy!"

Michael frowned.

Elizabeth turned her head. "She was spouting nonsense, saying I seduced Anthony."

Michael nodded. "Then she is crazy. Choosing Anthony over me. Any smart person knows who to pick."

He lifted his hand, gently rubbing her left cheek with his thumb, then straightened up and left.

Elizabeth was stunned, 'He just left? How bizarre.'

She didn't let the incident distract her and went back to work.

At Stellar Enterprises, in the PR manager's office, Margaret closed the door and drew the curtains.

She looked at Octavia. "How did it go? Smoothly?"

Octavia, looking pleased with herself, said, "Of course. Last night, I got Anthony drunk at the bar and took some photos. He took me to his place, calling me 'Elizabeth' the whole time. Calla is completely convinced. I heard she caused a scene at The Jones Group this morning."

Margaret's lips curled into a wicked smile. "Really? That fast?"

Octavia, seeking praise, added, "Yes, I heard she almost pushed Elizabeth down the steps, but the guard stopped her."

Margaret frowned slightly. "What a pity. Otherwise, she might have had a miscarriage."
