Chapter 533 Uninvited Guest

Victor immediately asked, "Dad, what do you need? I'll do whatever you say."

Gerald's eyes turned menacing. "Do you know Elizabeth?"

Victor frowned, puzzled. "Elizabeth? Michael's ex-wife? I've seen her in the news."

Gerald's voice was like it came from the depths of hell. "She did something unforgivable to Cordelia with Michael. I don't want Cordelia to wake up and be heartbroken. So, I need you to teach her a lesson."

Victor asked uncertainly, "Dad, how far should I go?"

Gerald growled, "Idiot! You're a man. Do I need to teach you how to handle a woman?"

Victor quickly agreed, "Alright, Dad, I understand."

At Whispering Pines Estates in Aurora Bay.

Nolan hung up his video call with Elizabeth and started booking his flight.

Once the ticket was booked, he began packing his bags.

Pearl walked in, looking puzzled. "Nolan, are you leaving?"

Nolan hesitated for a moment before answering, "I've been home for too long. It's time to go back to school. Pearl, I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier."

Pearl looked like she was about to cry. She ran over and hugged Nolan. "Dad left us, Mom's not home, Sherry's at Matthew's place, and now you're leaving too. I'm so lonely!"

Nolan felt a pang of guilt but was deeply worried about Elizabeth. He just wanted to ensure his mom's safety and bring her home.

"Pearl, you and Susan take care of our brother. If there's an emergency, call Dean. He'll come right away."

Pearl nodded reluctantly. "Alright, I guess that's the best we can do."

She and Susan walked Nolan to the door.

Susan was holding Francis.

Francis was too young to understand, just smiling at Nolan with drool all over his chin. Susan gently wiped it away.

"Nolan, why don't you let Dean drive you to the airport?"

Nolan shook his head. "No need, Susan. Dean's busy. I can manage on my own. No need to bother him."

Dean had temporarily moved back to Whispering Pines Estates to be with Nolan and Pearl.

He had been leaving early and coming back late, clearly dealing with some tough issues at the Jones Group.

He mentioned that Jennifer had secretly returned to the country while Michael was out of power and had hired a mysterious expert to help with research.

Judging by Dean's worried expression, this expert was likely as skilled as Dean, if not more. Otherwise, Dean wouldn't be so troubled.

Nolan didn't want to bother him. He also didn't want Dean to know that his destination wasn't Valoria but Majestic City. He had already booked his flight and needed to head to the airport that afternoon.

Sherry was staying at Matthew's apartment.

Matthew had forbidden her from doing chores or going to work, leaving her bored every day.

To take care of her, Matthew had hired a nanny to prepare her meals and clean the apartment.

Early that morning, as usual, Sherry was sitting on the couch, eating chips and watching TV.

She heard the doorbell ring and got up to answer it.

Through the monitor, Sherry saw a woman she didn't recognize standing at the door.

She asked the woman, "Who are you looking for?"

The woman smiled and replied, "I'm looking for Matthew."

Sherry was puzzled. How did this woman get into the building and even the complex?

She thought it best to call Matthew to confirm.

Sherry went to find her phone. The woman seemed impatient and kept ringing the bell.

Sherry returned to the door. "Hold on, I need to contact him. He's not home. I'm just his tenant. I need to ask his permission."

The woman, hearing Matthew wasn't home, immediately said, "Are you Sherry? Actually, I'm here to see you."

Sherry was surprised.

She didn't know many people in Evergreen City. How did this woman know her?

The woman seemed to guess her confusion and said through the intercom, "I know you. You're the woman Matthew likes, and I know you're pregnant with his child."

Sherry thought, 'Matthew, you really share everything.'

The woman grew impatient. "Ms. Reed, are you really going to keep me standing outside, answering questions like this?"

Sherry thought, 'If Matthew had told her about the pregnancy, they must be close.'

She pressed the button to open the door, and the woman walked in. She extended her hand to Sherry. "Hello, Ms. Reed."

Sherry asked the nanny to prepare coffee for her.

The woman sat on the couch, looking ready for a long chat.

Since Sherry was bored anyway, chatting with Matthew's friend might help her learn more about him.

"Are you a colleague of Matthew's?" Sherry asked.

The woman shook her head lightly. "No."

"Are you classmates?"

Sherry looked at the woman's age, thinking she wasn't old enough to be Matthew's classmate.

Sure enough, the woman shook her head again.

"Ms. Reed, stop guessing. I'm just an old friend of Matthew's. For years, he never dated or married. Suddenly, I heard he was living with a woman and expecting a child. I was surprised and couldn't believe it, so I came to see for myself. Ms. Reed, do you think I'm being presumptuous?"

Sherry looked her in the eye. "Do you have feelings for Matthew?"

The woman's eyes showed a moment of panic, as if her secret had been exposed.

She covered it up by taking a sip of coffee and sighed. "Yes. I've liked him for many years."

Sherry felt relieved. So, she was one of Matthew's admirers.

This guy sure had a lot of romantic entanglements!

She asked, "What's your name? When Matthew comes back, I'll tell him and see if he can respond to your feelings."

The woman seemed insulted and snapped, "Sherry, what are you so smug about? You're just younger and prettier than me! Do you love him as much as I do?"

Sherry was taken aback and quickly waved her hands. "No, no, no, you misunderstood. I don't love him at all!"

The woman still looked angry. "Stop pretending! If you didn't love him, would you be willing to have his child and live with him?"

Sherry tried to calm her down. "You really misunderstood. I'm just his tenant. There's no emotional connection between us. As for the baby, it was purely an accident."

The woman's face brightened immediately. "Really? This baby wasn't planned?"

Sherry was at a loss for words.

Seeing her silence, the woman frowned again. "I knew you were lying."

She took a bottle of milk from her bag and handed it to Sherry. "This is special milk for pregnant women. It's good for your health and provides essential nutrients."

Sherry had wanted to continue comforting her, but seeing her outstretched hand, she couldn't refuse.

She had just eaten chips and was thirsty, so she took the milk and drank it quickly.
