Chapter 141 He Saw His Younger Self

Michael didn't hang up and bolted out of Stellar Enterprises, telling the driver to head straight to the school.

As the car cruised down the road, Michael was lost in his thoughts.

It was weird. Eloise never talked to strangers, let alone went looking for someone, unless she already knew them.

Michael asked the nanny, "Did Eloise find that person?"

The caretaker nodded, "Yeah, Ms. Thomas found him. It's a little boy at Global Horizons International School. She saw him and just lost it, crying her eyes out."

Michael sighed helplessly, "Tell Eloise I'm almost there. Try to calm her down."

The caretaker hung up, gently patted Eloise's back, and whispered, "Mr. Thomas is almost here. Please stop crying. You'll get a headache."

But Eloise kept crying, not listening at all.

Soon, Michael arrived.

Seeing Eloise so upset broke his heart.

She ran to him, sobbing, "Michael, Nolan doesn't like me. He hates me."

Michael frowned. Nolan? Elizabeth's son?

He shot a questioning look at the nanny.

The caretaker gave a slight nod.

Michael took Eloise's hand and led her to a room, patting her back gentle and trying to calm her down. After a while, she finally stopped crying.

He sat her on the sofa and gently said, "Eloise, I'll go talk to that boy and find out why he upset you. You stay here and rest, okay?"

Eloise nodded, exhausted from crying, her eyelids drooping.

Seeing her like that, Michael carried her to the bed to rest.

He signaled the caretaker to take good care of her and then made his way alone to Nolan's classroom.

Michael peered through the window. Inside the spacious classroom, Nolan sat in the middle, typing away, a baseball cap shading his face.

Two teachers were busy at the podium.

How did Eloise know him? Why did Nolan hate her? Was Elizabeth behind this?

Michael needed answers.

He knocked on the door and walked in without waiting for a response.

The two teachers looked up, surprised.

One of them approached, "Mr. Thomas, what brings you here?"

Michael pulled up a chair next to Nolan. "Just need to ask him a few questions."

The teacher awkwardly said, "Mr. Thomas, Nolan is just a kid. Please don't scare him."

Michael shot the teacher a cold look. "Eloise was scared to tears. Who's going to stand up for her?"

Another teacher chimed in softly, "But Nolan is only 4 years old. Eloise is already..."

The first teacher gently tugged the other teacher's sleeve, giving them a look.

The teacher stepped out of the classroom and discreetly called Elizabeth from the hallway.

Elizabeth was still at the office when her phone rang. Seeing an unfamiliar number, she hesitated but answered.

A low voice on the other end said, "Ms. Jones, are you busy? Whether you are or not, you need to come to Global Horizons International School as soon as possible."

Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat. Global Horizons International School? Did something happen to Nolan?

She clutched her phone nervously, her voice trembling, "Did something happen to Nolan?"

The teacher replied, "Nolan is fine, sitting in the classroom. But there's a Mr. Thomas here, and it seems like he's causing trouble. Ms. Jones, I think you should come over as soon as possible."

Hearing that Michael was in Nolan's classroom, Elizabeth felt a wave of panic. She grabbed her car keys and rushed out of the office.

She drove as fast as she could to Global Horizons International School.

In the classroom, Michael and Nolan were in a standoff.

Michael sat in the chair opposite Nolan, staring him down.

Nolan ignored him, focused on his laptop.

Michael decided to break the silence, tapping the table lightly. "Nolan."

Nolan looked up coldly at Michael, then went back to his laptop.

Michael took a deep breath and continued, "Nolan, your mom is Elizabeth, right?"

Nolan kept his head down, ignoring Michael. His small hands continued typing, but his mind was racing.

Michael must have noticed him and done some digging; otherwise, how would he know Nolan was Elizabeth's son?

Nolan completely ignored Michael, absorbed in his laptop.

He thought, school would be over soon. Even if Nancy didn't come, Elizabeth would. He didn't believe Michael would stick around after school ended.

If Michael didn't leave, Nancy or Elizabeth would make him. Nolan had nothing to fear.

Thinking this, Nolan glared at Michael, showing no fear.

When their eyes met, Michael was taken aback.

Why did Nolan look so much like him as a child? Previously, he only glanced briefly, never taking a closer look.

And why did he always wear a hat? It made sense outside, but why in the classroom?

Michael reached for Nolan's hat, intending to lift it.

Nolan quickly covered his hat and shouted, "What are you doing?"

Michael sat back down, looking at him. "You finally spoke? I thought you couldn't talk."
