Chapter 472 William's Suspicion
Michael stood up and followed her, his voice rough with emotion. "Elizabeth, do you really mean it?"
Elizabeth, still fuming, snapped back, "Yes! I mean it! You always punish me for no reason! You're so harsh with me! You ignore me whenever you feel like it! You left me out in the rain! And in bed, you never consider my feelings! You make me so uncomfortable and never apologize!"
Her voice grew more and more aggrieved until she burst into tears.
"Michael, I've loved you for so many years. But you only care about your own feelings! You never think about me! I don't want to love you anymore."
Michael pulled her into a tight embrace. "I'm sorry, Elizabeth! I'm sorry! I was jealous when your bodyguard told me you were at the hospital with another man. I couldn't think straight; I just wanted to have you all to myself. I don't want any other man to take your attention away. In this world, no one else can have you but me."
His voice was low and rough, his arms wrapped tightly around her as if afraid she might slip away.
Elizabeth was still sobbing. "Michael! You're squeezing me too tight!"
She pushed against him with her arms, tears still in her eyes.
Michael loosened his grip and took out a tissue to wipe her tears.
"Elizabeth, what do I need to do for you to forgive me?"
Elizabeth pouted. "You can't be mean to me anymore. When I call you, you can't just hang up. When I call out to you, you can't ignore me. If I'm upset, you have to comfort me right away. If you're upset, you have to tell me why. And in bed, you have to consider my feelings!"
Michael lifted her chin and kissed her gently. "Okay. I promise."
Elizabeth, still dissatisfied, said, "I brought Quinn here for your sake. It's better to have him under your watch than somewhere else. If Jesse finds him, he'll definitely use him to threaten you."
"Money is a small matter. If he uses your family background to threaten you and spreads lies, won't that be a huge problem? And it would be so annoying."
Michael smiled. "Thank you, Elizabeth. You're so good to me."
He kissed her again.
Elizabeth pushed him away. "Stop fooling around. Go downstairs and take care of Quinn. As for Jesse, we'll deal with him step by step. If he wants money, we'll give it to him, but we can't let him get too greedy, or he'll never stop."
Michael nodded, his eyes dark. "I know. I won't let him get away with it. He's just a thug. If I can kill Derek, killing Jesse is nothing."
Elizabeth covered his mouth. "I don't want you to kill anyone. It won't make you happy. We'll find a better way."
Michael took her hand and kissed it, looking aggrieved. "I'm not used to living with strangers. It's uncomfortable and awkward. And I don't like Quinn. Even if he looks like Eloise, he's not Eloise. I can't like him."
Elizabeth looked down. "I understand."
She pulled his hand and led him to the closet. "Pack your things and come live with me at Whispering Pines Estates."
Michael hesitated. "Are you sure?"
"What's there to be unsure about? You'll have to live there after we get married anyway."
Michael was still a bit hesitant. "Before, it was just for a short time. This time, it'll be longer. Won't Nolan have a problem with it?"
Elizabeth sighed. "Nolan has issues with you because you're not proactive enough. Can't you show more concern for him, spend more time with him, praise him more? If you want to be his dad, you have to act like one. Hiding from your own son every day, what kind of dad does that?"
Michael's eyes lit up. "You're right! I'll change."
Michael told Clio that he and Elizabeth were moving to Whispering Pines Estates.
Elizabeth instructed Quinn not to wander around and to ask Clio if he needed anything. Clio would take good care of him.
Then, the two of them left together.
In the living room downstairs, Quinn was still slowly eating.
Clio was sitting nearby, secretly observing him.
So similar, incredibly similar!
How could Quinn look so much like Eloise?
And before her surgery, Eloise was also so quiet, never speaking to anyone first.
Thinking of Eloise, Clio felt a pang of sadness and almost started crying.
She quickly stood up. "Quinn, if you want anything else to eat, just let me know."
Quinn nodded obediently.
Outside the front door, William was peering into the villa.
Quinn saw him and hid behind Clio. "Clio, there's someone outside."
Clio stood up and looked out the window. "Don't be afraid. That's Mr. Michael Thomas' brother. I'll go check."
She opened the main door and stepped into the yard, standing behind the iron gate.
"Mr. William Thomas, Mr. Michael Thomas isn't home today. Maybe you can come back another day?"
William knew Michael wasn't home. He had come over because he saw him leave.
He was curious about Quinn's identity.
For Elizabeth to leave this man in Michael's house so easily, Quinn's identity must be significant.
Otherwise, with Michael's temper, how could he allow a stranger to stay in his home?
He looked at the man behind Clio.
Tall, thin, pale, and a bit dazed.
And he looked a bit like Eloise.
William grew suspicious. "Clio, who is that behind you? I've never seen him before. When did he arrive? Does Michael know?"
Clio stood straight. "Mr. William Thomas, this is my relative. He came to stay with me. I've already informed Mr. Michael Thomas."
Clio didn't say much more and pulled Quinn back inside.
William, feeling frustrated, returned to his rental house, growing more suspicious.
He told Anthony everything.
Anthony clapped his hands. "Dad! This person must be a relative of ours!"
William was taken aback. "Why do you think that?"
Anthony came over to his dad and explained, "You said Jesse is Michael's real dad. They must have switched babies back then, right? Grandma had twins, right? So, if Michael isn't my uncle, where did my real uncle go? He must be connected to Jesse! Maybe Jesse has been raising him all this time!"
William pondered this. Anthony's reasoning made sense.
After a moment of thought, he said to Anthony, "To find out this person's identity, we need to find Jesse."
Anthony's eyes widened. "Why go to Jesse? Didn't you just have someone beat him up? Are you sure he won't retaliate?"
William smirked. "Don't worry. He thinks Michael was the one who had him beaten up."
