Chapter 92 He Kissed Her Fiercely

Elizabeth sighed and plopped back down on the sofa after hearing Mary.

Mary settled on the sofa across from them. "Elizabeth, I heard from the bodyguards about the attack. You really stepped up to protect Michael today. If it weren't for the bodyguards, you two might not have made it back. I appreciate you looking out for him. I had my doubts about you before, but now I see you care about Michael. So, let's forget about the divorce talk. You and Michael should stay together. The Thomas Family will treat you right."

Elizabeth stood up and said softly, "It's what I had to do. Michael's life means more to me than my own."

Mary and Michael were both touched by her words.

Mary got up. "Alright, I won't keep you. I was just worried about Michael and wanted to check on him. It's his birthday today, and you both had a scare. I'm glad you're okay. Michael still needs to recover, so get some rest. I'll head back now."

Elizabeth stood up with politeness. "Take care, let me walk you out."

Mary waved her off. "No need, stay with Michael. The driver will take me home. Get some rest."

Now, it was just Michael and Elizabeth in the living room.

Michael looked at her. "Where are you sleeping tonight?"

Elizabeth blinked. "In my room, of course."

Michael's face fell a bit. "Alright, then. Rest up. If you feel uneasy, you can call the driver to take you back to Nancy's."

Elizabeth shook her head. "It's late, I don't want to bother my mom. I'll stay here."

Michael sat quietly in his wheelchair, looking indifferent, but Elizabeth knew he was upset.

He wheeled himself towards the elevator.

Elizabeth called out, "Do you need help? Your legs are injured. Can you manage a bath tonight? I noticed the caregiver didn't come."

Michael, without turning back, said a bit sulkily, "It's fine, I'm used to being alone. I can go to bed without showering."

Elizabeth sensed that he was a bit angry, although she didn't know what he was upset about. "Can you really go to bed without showering?"

"Have a good rest," Michael replied coldly.

As the elevator doors opened, Michael went upstairs without looking back, clearly in a bad mood. Elizabeth could only shake her head and follow him up to the second floor.

She pushed open Michael's room door.

Michael was undressing and looked surprised when she walked in.

Elizabeth looked down, embarrassed. "I thought you might need help. I'm worried you can't bathe alone."

Michael see her embarrassment through her eyes and smiled, "Are you sure?"

Elizabeth blushed. "I don't want to see you naked. I mean, you bathe, and if you need help, call me. I'll be outside the bathroom."

"Is that so?" Michael asked, raising an eyebrow.

Elizabeth was taken aback. "So, how exactly should I help you?"

Michael smirked. "Didn't you say you wanted to help me bathe? That means coming into the bathroom with me. Otherwise, how can you help? When the caregiver is here, he helps me wash. But if you're too embarrassed, forget it. You can go back."

Elizabeth could tell he was getting annoyed again. It was his birthday, and she didn't want to upset him further.

She walked over and helped Michael up, unbuckling his belt to help him with his pants.

Michael grabbed his pants, teasing, "Elizabeth, you were so shy just now, and now you're a pro at taking off my pants?"

Elizabeth kept her head down, focused on the task. "I've done this many times. I'm pretty good at it now."

Michael chuckled, shaking his head.

Elizabeth helped him into the bathroom and had him sit on a stool.

She went to run the water, filling the bathtub. After testing the temperature, she said, "Michael, the water's perfect. You can get in now."

Michael stood up and, without hesitation, took off his last piece of clothing, tossing his underwear into the laundry basket.

Elizabeth was momentarily stunned. Even though she'd seen him naked before when they were intimate, it still threw her off.

She quickly turned around, her face burning.

A light laugh came from behind her.

Maybe it was the heat in the bathroom, but Elizabeth felt her cheeks getting hotter.

She glanced at the foggy mirror, seeing her flushed face.

With her back to Michael, she awkwardly said, "Get in the tub already. The water's ready, or it'll get cold."

Michael replied, "Okay."

The sound of splashing water filled the room.

Elizabeth kept her back to him. "I'll wait here."

Suddenly, she heard a light cry and a splash behind her.

Elizabeth didn't turn around but asked anxiously, "Michael, what happened?"

There was no answer, not even the sound of water.

Panic set in. Could it be that he fell in the tub?

She quickly turned around.

Sure enough, Michael was submerged in the tub.

Elizabeth's heart raced. Ignoring the slippery floor, she rushed to the tub.

She reached out and quickly helped Michael up.

His eyes were closed.

Elizabeth patted his cheeks. "Michael! Wake up! Michael!"

No response.

Elizabeth was frantic. She put her hands under his armpits, trying to lift him out.

Just as she was about to lift him, Michael suddenly hugged her tightly.

He opened his eyes and pulled Elizabeth into the tub.

Elizabeth screamed, falling into the water.

Water splashed on her face, almost choking her.

Out of reflex, she opened her mouth.

Just as she was about to take a breath, Michael's lips pressed against hers.
