Chapter 412 Go Find Him

Michael nodded, "Daniel's cousin set him up with a girlfriend. Dean found out and went back to confront him."

Elizabeth looked confused, "How come I didn't know about this? He told you but not me? Who's really his best friend here?"

Michael sighed, "Do you know where Daniel's hometown is?"

Elizabeth suddenly got it, "Daniel went back to his hometown?"

Pearl, who was eating breakfast nearby, curiously asked, "Mom, what's a hometown?"

Elizabeth smiled at her, "A hometown is where someone grew up, usually where their parents live."

Pearl's eyes widened, "Oh, I get it. So this is my and Nolan's hometown."

Elizabeth laughed, "Well, you could say that."

Nolan chimed in, "But Mom, you won't live here forever."

Elizabeth thought for a second and nodded, "That's true."

Pearl looked disappointed, "So we won't have a hometown? Nolan, we're so unlucky."

Elizabeth gently stroked her head, "When you grow up, wherever Mom lives will be your hometown."

Pearl cheered, "That's great! Mom, you have to live a long, long time!"

The meal went smoothly.

After dinner, Elizabeth took Francis from Susan and went to her room to nurse him.

Michael came over, reached out, and gently embraced both mother and child.

Elizabeth held Francis and leaned her head lightly against Michael.

Michael whispered tenderly, "Elizabeth, it's Christmas today. Where do you want to go? I'll go with you."

Elizabeth thought for a moment, "It's so cold outside, and there's not much to do. Pearl and Nolan have been wanting to go to the amusement park for a while. I've been too tired to take them. Since you're here today, let's go together."

Michael nodded, "Alright."

Francis had finished eating and was staring at Michael with bright eyes.

Michael put his thumb in Francis' tiny hand, and Francis immediately grasped it.

Michael found the sensation fascinating. His heart was filled with infinite tenderness.

He looked at Francis, reluctantly pulled his finger away, and stood up, "I'll go tell Pearl and Nolan to get ready. We'll leave soon."

Elizabeth nodded, "Okay, go ahead."

She gently held Francis' little arm and waved at Michael, "Daddy's going out. Say goodbye to Daddy, Francis. Bye-bye~"

At this moment, Michael's heart was a mix of emotions. The heavy secret weighed on him, almost making it hard for him to breathe.

Elizabeth handed Francis to Susan. She and Michael took Pearl and Nolan to the amusement park.

Nolan was initially reluctant to go with Michael, but Pearl kept pleading, "Nolan, please. You've wanted to go to the amusement park for so long. We haven't gone together yet. Twins should do things together, right? If I go alone, I'll be lonely. It's Christmas! Nolan, don't you want me to be happy?"

Nolan couldn't bear to refuse her.

At night, the park had a fireworks show. The area in front of the castle was packed with people. Michael and Elizabeth held Pearl and Nolan's hands tightly.

Pearl exclaimed, "Dad, Mom, someone stepped on my foot."

Michael picked her up, "Pearl, can you see better now?"

Pearl clapped excitedly in his arms, "This is the best way to watch fireworks! Dad, you're amazing!"

She hugged Michael's neck and kissed his cheek, "Thank you, Dad! I love you!"

Michael felt incredibly fulfilled.

Pearl looked at Nolan, "Nolan, do you want to be in Dad's arms too?"

Michael also looked at him.

Nolan turned his head away and held Elizabeth's hand tightly, "No way!"

Elizabeth apologized, "Sorry, Nolan, Mom's not strong enough."

Michael didn't react to Nolan's refusal. He crouched down and picked Nolan up.

Now, both kids were in his arms.

Nolan felt awkward but didn't say anything.

Elizabeth thought, 'Nolan is still just a child; he must also crave his father's love.'

Seeing Nolan stay in Michael's arms without resistance, Elizabeth felt comforted. She leaned lightly against Michael.

In front of the castle, the fountain rose, music played, and fireworks burst brilliantly in the sky.

Pearl clapped and laughed excitedly, "Nolan, look! Nolan! Isn't it beautiful?"

Nolan controlled his expression and nodded lightly, "Yes, it's beautiful."

Pearl tugged his sleeve gently, "Nolan, isn't it clearer and prettier with Dad holding us?"

Nolan continued to nod, "Yes, clearer."

Pearl was even happier.

Michael looked at the children's smiling faces illuminated by the fireworks and Elizabeth leaning against him.

He thought, if time could stop at this moment, he would have no regrets in life.

But unfortunately, life is never perfect.

He had come to Valoria, felt the warmth of family, and experienced the love of his children and partner.

Even if his future was full of thorns and hardships, remembering today's happiness would give him the courage to face the dark days ahead.

In a small town in Celestria.

Dean got out of the taxi, dragging his suitcase, and arrived at a house. Through the glass, he could see a family gathering inside, everyone smiling.

Dean stood outside, watching silently. He had always envied this kind of family warmth. That's why he never bought a house and insisted on staying at Elizabeth's place.

He searched the crowd for a familiar face.

Daniel was standing by a Christmas tree, holding a wine glass, chatting with a beautiful woman with long hair.

Dean hadn't seen Daniel for several days. Now, standing in the freezing cold, he looked at his beloved so close yet so far.

He had traveled all the way from Valoria, longing for him, only to find him happily chatting with a woman, seemingly forgetting about him.

Dean stomped his nearly frozen feet and rang the doorbell.

A woman who looked like a housekeeper opened the door.

"Sir, who are you looking for?"

"Daniel."

The housekeeper replied respectfully, "Please wait a moment."

She walked over to Daniel and whispered something to him.

Dean saw that the moment Daniel heard the housekeeper's words, he immediately looked towards the door.

Was he mistaken? In those eyes, there wasn't shock or disdain, but rather surprise and joy.

Daniel wasn't angry at his sudden visit?

Dean's previously bitter mood was soothed.

He turned his head away, refusing to meet Daniel's gaze. He pulled his suitcase, walked down the steps, crossed the lawn, and headed towards the street.

He didn't know why he was acting this way. He just wanted to express his feelings of hurt.
