Chapter 253 Have a Child with Him

Elizabeth covered her face, staring at Mary in shock.

"Mrs. Thomas, did you seriously come to my house this early just to slap me?" she asked.

Mary shot her a nasty look and said, "Elizabeth, you're like a bad penny that keeps turning up. You ditched Michael back then, so why are you back to mess with him? Calla and he are engaged now. Do you know what you are? A home-wrecking mistress! You even caused the death of my unborn grandchild! You think I shouldn't slap you?"

Elizabeth lifted her head, still covering her face, and gave Mary a cold stare.

"Mrs. Thomas, you don't need to hate me this much. Calla knows exactly how she lost the baby. Even if it was my fault, Michael has already made me pay for it. He's confronted me."

Mary was about to say more when Nolan had Falcon spray her with water. Soaked, Mary screamed and started coughing, cursing at Nolan. "You little brat!"

She pointed at Elizabeth and said, "Look at the kids you raised! Just as rude as you!"

Her maid rushed over to wipe the water off her face.

The Thomas family bodyguard stepped towards Nolan and said, "Mrs. Thomas, I'll grab this troublemaker and give him a beating to cool you down."

Nolan stood there with his hands on his hips, glaring.

Elizabeth pulled her two kids behind her and told Mary, "Don't push it!"

Nolan peeked out, glaring at Mary. Not only did Mary, who they should call grandma, treat Elizabeth badly, but she was also mean to him and Pearl.

Mary took a long look at Nolan and suddenly stopped talking.

She grabbed the bodyguard's arm, stopping him from moving forward.

"Back to the Thomas mansion," she said.

The bodyguard, though confused, followed her order, helped her into the car, and the Bentley sped away.

At the hospital in the gynecology ward, Calla was softly crying while Michael sat by her bed, handing her tissues.

"Don't cry. The doctor said crying isn't good for your recovery," he said.

Calla said, "Michael, it's my fault. I feel so guilty for not being able to keep our baby."

But Michael changed the subject. "You weren't well earlier, so I didn't get a chance to ask. Why did you meet with Elizabeth? Was it something that couldn't be said over the phone?"

Calla's eyes filled with tears. "Michael, are you doubting me?" she asked.

Michael turned his head and said, "The whole thing is too weird. You two don't have a personal relationship, so why meet? And why at the Thomas mansion? You knew you were pregnant, so why stand by the pool, such a dangerous place?"

Calla started crying again. "Michael, I really didn't think that much at the time! I never thought she would push me! I thought, since she was someone you once loved deeply, she must be kind and harmless. I really didn't expect..."

Hearing this, Michael rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

Calla grabbed his hand and asked, "Michael, will you get justice for me?"

But Michael quietly pulled his hand away and handed her another tissue. "Don't worry, I've already taught Elizabeth a lesson. And I'll make it up to you."

He took out his checkbook, wrote a number, tore it off, and handed it to Calla. "It's almost dawn, you should rest. I have some things to take care of," he said.

Calla turned her head away, closed her eyes, and didn't reach out for the check.

"Michael, our child is gone, and no amount of money can make up for that," she said.

Michael stood up and replied, "I'm not trying to buy you off. I just want to give you some comfort. Don't overthink it. Get some sleep."

He then walked out of the ward and gently closed the door behind him.

As soon as the door clicked shut, Calla turned her head, quickly wiped her tears, and picked up the check from the blanket.

She looked at the number and smiled smugly.

One hundred million dollars. Quite a deal.

After Michael walked out, he recalled what the nurse had said about the stillborn baby, and a trace of doubt surfaced in his mind.

Why did the hospital mix the fetal remains together? Shouldn't they be cremated separately? It seemed like they were deliberately covering something up.

Back at the Thomas mansion, Mary sat on the sofa, deep in thought.

Mary's personal maid, Hestia Sharp, walked over and placed her hand on Mary's shoulder, massaging her.

"Mrs. Thomas, the doctor advised you to rest more and worry less," Hestia said.

Mary asked, "Hestia, did you see Elizabeth's children that day?"

"Yes, I did. That little girl looks just like Elizabeth," Hestia replied.

Mary became anxious and asked again, "Didn't you notice her son?"

Hestia asked, "Mrs. Thomas, what do you mean?"

Mary said, "Hestia, didn't you see that her son looks exactly like Michael did when he was young? Especially those eyes!"

"But, Mrs. Thomas, I heard that the child was adopted by Elizabeth abroad," Hestia said.

Mary responded, "Her words can only fool Michael! The child's appearance and age match. He must be Michael's son!"

Hestia asked, "What do you plan to do?"

Mary replied, "I want to do a paternity test with this child to see if he is really Michael's son. Michael is not young anymore. And Calla's child is gone. I don't know how many years I have left. In my lifetime, I still hope to see Michael get married and have children. Otherwise, I won't die in peace."

Hestia quickly moved in front of her and said, "Mrs. Thomas, what are you saying? You will live a long life!"

Mary picked up her phone and made a call, "In five minutes, I want all the information on Elizabeth's son."

At Whispering Pines Estates, Dean grabbed Elizabeth, frowning at her swollen cheek.

"That old witch, she's gone too far! How could she hit you like this!" he said.

He wrapped ice in a towel and helped her apply it to her cheek to reduce the swelling.

Elizabeth took the ice pack and said, "I can do it myself."

Dean sat beside her, worried. "Elizabeth, were you taken away by Michael yesterday?" he asked.

Elizabeth didn't really want to talk about it and lowered her head.

"Not exactly. I went to find him on my own," she said.

Dean became anxious. "Where did he take you? Why didn't you come back all night? Did he blame you for Calla's miscarriage?" he asked.

Elizabeth nodded slightly.

Dean jumped up and shouted, "That damn Michael! I knew he was so wild and arbitrary!"

He sat back down, leaning close to Elizabeth. "You didn't just admit it, did you?" he asked.

Elizabeth shook her head and replied, "No. But he doesn't believe me. He said he wants to avenge his child."

Dean felt like going crazy and said, "Avenge? How? For an unformed fetus. Does he want you to have a child for him?"
