Chapter 326 Shameless Woman
The woman let out a soft laugh.
Anthony whispered in her ear, "You don't need to be scared of her! Everything she has now is because of me. Without me, where would she go?"
He seemed hesitant to hold her too tightly, gently wrapping his arms around her. He lowered his head to kiss her, but she dodged him.
She playfully scolded, "Anthony, my stomach."
Anthony quickly released her, apologizing repeatedly, "I'm sorry, Elizabeth. I'm such an idiot! I shouldn't have overstepped!"
Calla's mouth dropped open, and she quickly covered it with her hand.
That woman was Elizabeth! Wasn't she still pregnant? Why would she come to the Thomas mansion in the middle of the night to meet Anthony?
Or maybe, even though they had broken up, they had been secretly seeing each other all along?
Just like she had done years ago, sneaking around with Anthony behind Michael's back.
What was this?
Calla laughed bitterly at herself.
She was so angry she forgot to make a sound. Or perhaps she didn't dare make a sound in front of Anthony, fearing he would reprimand her in front of others, stripping her of any dignity.
The woman in Anthony's arms clearly saw Calla's silhouette. Yet, she provocatively glanced at Calla and continued leaning into Anthony's embrace.
Calla quietly retraced her steps, making up her mind to confront Elizabeth when Anthony wasn't around and tell Michael about her disgusting behavior.
She wanted to see how Michael would punish this shameless woman.
At Whispering Pines Estates, Elizabeth woke up feeling sore and tired. She forced herself to get up and go downstairs.
Dean was already waiting for her at the dining table.
"Elizabeth, are you feeling unwell? The baby is getting bigger, it must be hard for you every day."
Elizabeth, suffering from leg cramps and a poor night's sleep, looked exhausted.
She had no appetite. "Try strapping a watermelon to your stomach day and night and see how comfortable you feel."
Dean stuck out his tongue. "Elizabeth, did someone wake you up this morning? Why are you so grumpy?"
Elizabeth replied, "Haven't you heard that pregnant women have very unstable emotions?"
Dean quickly served her some soup. "I didn't know that before, but now I do."
He placed the bowl in front of her. "Drink it while it's hot."
Elizabeth took the spoon and started drinking. "I don't feel like driving today, Dean. Can you take me to the office?"
Dean eagerly agreed. "Serving my charming Elizabeth is always my duty and my honor!"
Elizabeth waved her spoon to cut him off. "Alright, stop the theatrics. Eat up, we have a lot to handle at the office."
Dean said, "Elizabeth, if you're really not feeling well, you should rest at home. I can manage the office. If I run into any issues, I'll call you."
Elizabeth didn't even look up. "I'm only a few months pregnant, no need to rest. I'm not that fragile. Some calcium supplements will do."
On the way to the office, Elizabeth asked Dean to stop by a pharmacy to buy some prenatal calcium tablets.
In the car, she looked at the bottle of calcium tablets, remembering how cautious she had been years ago when buying prenatal medicine while pregnant with Pearl and Nolan, fearing Michael would find out.
Who would have thought she would be pregnant with his child again now?
And this time, she didn't have to sneak around. Michael even accommodated her because of the baby.
Thinking of Michael reminded her of the woman in the restaurant that day.
Elizabeth felt a wave of nausea and almost threw up in the car.
Dean asked anxiously, "Elizabeth, you okay? Am I driving too fast?"
Elizabeth shook her head. "No, I just thought of someone really disgusting."
Dean said, "Then think of something happy, like me, Pearl, and Nolan. I've heard that pregnant women should think happy thoughts and look at beautiful things. That way, the baby will have a good temperament."
Elizabeth thought of Michael's terrible temper. If the baby inherited that, no amount of happy thoughts would help.
Was that why he didn't want children back then?
Her phone rang, and she saw it was Silver King. She quickly answered.
"Silver King, what can I do for you?"
Silver King laughed heartily. "Elizabeth, ever since news of your successful surgery spread, many people have been asking about you. One of them is from Celestria."
Elizabeth looked troubled. "Silver King, I'm pregnant now, and it's not convenient for me to take on surgeries."
Silver King said, "I understand, so I didn't reveal your information. I'll send you the patient's medical records, and you can decide."
Elizabeth agreed and hung up. She opened the files Silver King sent and flipped through them.
She found that the patient's symptoms were exactly like Eloise's.
She opened the patient's photo and was stunned.
Dean saw her expression in the rearview mirror and called out, "Elizabeth, what's wrong?"
Elizabeth snapped out of it. "Nothing, just tired."
She didn't plan to tell Dean about this. Dean had already been turned by Daniel and was now Michael's informant.
When they arrived at The Jones Group building, Dean opened the car door for her. "Elizabeth, you go ahead. I'll park the car."
Elizabeth got out. "Okay."
She grabbed her bag and walked towards the building.
As she climbed the steps, a figure suddenly rushed at her from the side, knocking her backward.
Luckily, a bodyguard nearby caught her just in time.
Elizabeth was still in shock when she felt a heavy slap across her face.
The bodyguard, who was holding her, hadn't expected the attacker to strike again. Enraged, he punched the person in the chest, sending them to the ground with a scream.
Elizabeth, her ears ringing from the slap, held her face and angrily looked at the person on the ground. "Who are you? Why did you hit me?"
The person on the ground pushed back their hair and sat up, clutching their chest in pain.
"Elizabeth! You shameless woman! I'm here to teach you a lesson! How dare you, a pregnant woman, seduce my boyfriend? You're despicable!"
Elizabeth stared in disbelief. "Calla?"
