Chapter 111 The One He Has Been Waiting For

Hearing Michael's accusatory words, Elizabeth wanted to snap back, but her brain was too foggy from the booze. She mumbled something incoherent and hung up.

Elizabeth crashed on her bed and passed out almost instantly, thanks to the alcohol.

That same night, William and Anthony showed up with gifts to apologize to Seraphina at her parents' place.

Inside the room, Anthony patiently explained what went down. "Seraphina, I've never been married or had kids. You can check it out yourself. That little girl thought I was her dad because I look like him. She borrowed my phone to call her family. I should've explained it to you sooner. Please forgive me."

Seeing how sincere he was, Seraphina forgave him, and Anthony was over the moon.

Meanwhile, William and Seraphina's dad, Nico York, were chatting in the living room.

Seraphina and Anthony took a stroll in the villa's backyard garden.

The cool night breeze gently blew, and Seraphina's dress hugged her curves perfectly.

They walked along the garden path, the scent of roses filling the air.

Anthony grabbed her hand and said, "Seraphina, even though we haven't met many times, your beauty, grace, maturity, elegance, charm, and allure have captured my heart. Can we be together? Please don't make me wait or guess your thoughts anymore. It hurt when you misunderstood me."

Anthony looked genuinely hurt as he lowered his head.

In the moonlight, Seraphina stared at him.

Taking advantage of the moment, Anthony grew bolder. He placed her hand on his chest. "Seraphina, can you feel my heartbeat? It beats only for you. If you can't feel it, it'll break for you."

Seraphina shyly pulled her hand back, looking down and saying nothing. Blushed, she gently kicked the pebbles at her feet.

Seeing her like this, Anthony grabbed her arm and pulled her into his embrace. Breathing heavily, he whispered in her ear, "Seraphina, say you like me."

Caught up in his tender affection, Seraphina had no clue about his true nature. She shyly leaned against his chest and softly said, "Anthony, I like you."

Hearing her words, Anthony lifted her chin and kissed her.

Not having been in a relationship for a while, Seraphina was swept away by Anthony's masculine charm, lost in his kiss.

She was so overwhelmed by his kiss that she was left breathless and weak.

With his experience in relationships, Anthony knew he couldn't rush things with a wealthy young lady like Seraphina.

He pretended to be reluctant and slowly pulled away from her lips.

Seraphina's eyes were misty, like they were covered with a layer of water. She was increasingly satisfied with Anthony.

Anthony pretended to look at her fondly, "Seraphina, you don't know how much I hate to leave you, but it's getting late, and my dad is still waiting for me in the living room. I should go back with him."

He gently patted Seraphina's head. "Seraphina, get some rest. I'll see you in my dreams."

With that, Anthony turned and walked towards the living room. He knew he had to keep her hooked without seeming too desperate.

After speaking, Anthony turned and walked towards the living room. He knew he had to keep her interested without appearing too eager. In this way, Anthony easily deceived Seraphina.

The next morning, Elizabeth woke up with a splitting headache. She staggered to the bathroom and splashed her face with cold water. Seeing her reflection in the mirror, her complexion dull and lifeless from the previous night's drinking, she quickly applied some light makeup.

After breakfast, she changed clothes, grabbed her documents, and headed out.

She drove to City Hall, arriving right at 10:00. Unlike usual, the entrance to City Hall was deserted.

She sat on a bench outside, waiting for Michael. But Michael didn't show up.

She checked her phone for the time and suddenly realized it was Sunday. No wonder City Hall was empty.

She put her documents back in her bag and called Michael. No answer.

Elizabeth had been waiting for over an hour.

Not only did Michael not show up, but he also didn't call or text.

Was last night's conversation just a figment of her imagination?

Elizabeth shook her head and checked her call log again.

Yep, she had definitely talked to Michael last night.

She paced back and forth outside City Hall, feeling agitated.

Why didn't Michael show up? Did something happen to him on the way? Did he not want to see her? Unlikely. He had been adamant about meeting to discuss the divorce.

Was he deliberately avoiding her to drag things out?

Meanwhile, Michael was pacing back and forth anxiously in his living room.

Susan noticed his restless state and approached him. "Mr. Thomas, why don't you sit down and rest for a bit? You've been pacing since early morning. Is something urgent?"

Michael sat down on the sofa. "Nothing."

He then added, "Keep an eye on the entrance. As soon as Margaret's car pulls in, let me know."

Susan was surprised to hear Margaret's name.

She remembered that four years ago, Elizabeth had left heartbroken after seeing Margaret in Michael's room, and Michael had banned Margaret from the Thomas Villa.

Now, Michael was anxiously waiting for Margaret. What had changed? What had Margaret done to cause such a shift in Michael's attitude?

Soon, a car drove in.

After the car stopped, Margaret happily got out. She walked to the other side of the car, opened the door, and respectfully welcomed someone out.

Susan was surprised. She had never seen Margaret treat anyone so respectfully.

When the person got out, Susan saw it was a young woman who looked serious and well-read.

It seemed this was the person Michael had been waiting for and the reason for his restlessness.
